The "2-Player" tag

Currently in Itch's suggested tags (which is to say the ones you can search games by) there are "Singleplayer," "Multiplayer" and variations thereof. While these work for one player physical games, and likely unnecessary for games for 3+ players, games designed specifically for 2 players are not catered to.

I would like to request that everyone who has a physical game designed for 2 people, please tag it with "2-player." If enough of us do so, it will hopefully become one of the suggested tags, allowing people to search for games designed for two people.

I do have a two-player game, but it doesn't have an Itch page. I wonder if I should create Itch pages for my games (only two so far). Currently I host them in my own website. What's the advantage of having an Itch page? Visibility? Something else? They are both free and will stay that way...

Having them in more places will certainly increase visibility, but also you can keep them free while easily giving the "purchaser" an opportunity to give you a tip!

The biggest advantage would be visibility, yeah. Having an Itch page for the game means it gets seen and downloaded by different people, who might not see your own site.

My experience is that the Itch page generates a decent number of downloads, but almost no actual money. (DriveThruRPG is slightly better for earning money in my experience.  My Pay What You Want games get about twice as many downloads on DriveThru, but about ten times as much income. But the actual dollar amounts are still minuscule in either place.)

Is this something that could be also addressed by contacting support or the site? My understanding is that with the growth in games there was someone who wanted to make sure the tags were working for us.

Sorry for posting in this very old topic, but there's a game classification option that lets you set the number of players. I recommend using that to be future proof:

Hi! This is an amazing tool for categorization--is it possible to search by "players supported?"
