Hello to any member of the itch.io Support Team,

I am kind of new in itch.io community & I was trying to post a blog post announcing a new title I am working on but

I am encountering an issue where I am unable to post on the site. Whenever I try to make a post, I receive the following error message:

“Your account is not allowed to create posts at this time. Please contact support if you need help.”

I am unsure why this is happening, and I haven't received any specific notice or explanation. I’ve checked my account, and everything seems to be in order (no notifications of restrictions or bans). Additionally, I haven’t violated any community guidelines to my knowledge.

Can anyone please assist me in resolving this issue or clarify if there’s something wrong with my account? Also I have mailed the support email but didn't got any answer yet [Its been 1 day since ] and my id is about 3 days old.

See the rules of this category that tell you how long to wait for a reply from support, and the many topics where it's explained that staff doesn't usually work on weekends. Please wait.

By the way, creating a new account to circumvent a ban is expressly forbidden in our terms of service. But now that you're here, what's your other account anyway? I might be able to tell you what happened to it.

The rules are at the top of the category page. You had to scroll past them before you could type a new post, then you had to tick a checkbox labeled "I've read the rules".

Hey,

I have read the rules of this section but i think you haven’t understand what i am trying to say. I am New in Itch.io, It's been around 4 Days now, Amd whenver i try to post a announcement i Just cant do it! The error appears, and sorry if i was not allowed to post it here but as i am completely new i don't think there would be any limitations on my account right? That's why i am super confused.

I was confused since you're obviously able to post in the community. No, there are no restrictions on your account. What error is that?

Yes, I am able to post in communities, But i am unable to post The announcement type Blog-Post.

I always get the error like 'Your Account Is Not Allowed To Create Posts At This Time'

I tried waiting but still same.

Oh right, you said so in the original post. I'm not sure why you'd get that error, but in any event you need to have a project page before you can post an announcement.

Edit: wait, blog post? As in, a devlog posted from your dashboard?

You mean in Release Announcements? Yes, you need to have a game or whatever first. That category is for announcing things you publish to itch.io, not elsewhere.

Okay I have looked into Project Page, But i think i need To upload game files to do it?

Please Note that, I am Working on the game and It's not that ready and playable as of now but i want to know if any people can give me feedback/ideas to implement, So i thought announcement post would be better?

NOTE: The Game Is Not Ready Yet To Have Playable Builds.So i think Creating Project section is not for me?

Release Announcements is for released games. See the Quality Guidelines FAQ for published game pages. Before you have one, the recommended way is to use the Posts tab on your dashboard.

No one reads unattached blog posts (from within Itch). Better create a project and make an attached devlog.

But if you are looking for feedback and such, there are other sections of the message board.

Hey , Sorry if i am late , Do i need any build to make a project page? as my game is in the very early stage and not yet playable , and i want to see expression of some peoples and get some feedback you know but not like within only 1 post , i will be posting after i add something in game for example.
