How to properly report untagged nsfw projects?

I want to make sure I'm using the right terms and reporting mechanism for this. For instance right now the top two responses on comics are straight up porn that are not tagged nsfw (https://itch.io/comics/new-and-popular).

When I go to report a project I get a form. The reporting form has the following categories:

Broken
Offensive material
Malacious software or virus
Uploader not authorized to distribute
Miscategorized
Spam
Other

...and a Description field.

What's the best way to fill this out so that moderators can quickly understand what the problem is and get the game properly tagged to not show up in the public feed.

Pick Miscategorized, probably. Description doesn't need to be long, something like "unmarked NSFW" is plenty enough.

Thank you, will do!

Just make sure it really is not marked. Open it in a new private window to be logged out and have clear cookies. If the disclaimer about 18+ pops up, it is marked.

I did - and in addition my account is set to not show nsfw tagged content - but thank you for the additional information.

Unfortunately, there are ways to show nsfw content despite having the setting. It got better after the "nsfw" tags got removed from the recommendation box. But you still can browse a tag that is considered nsfw and circumvents the setting. Also, you might encounter games in user profiles. The setting does not work there to my knowledge.

Many people just forgot that they had the setting on or that they uploaded a mature game themselves. This was also general advice for anyone reading here.

In some cases there is even discussion, what is considered nsfw. It is a vague description, because it is highly subjective and depends on location. It does not translate well into (international) age categories. What might be allowed for 12-16yo elsewhere might be considered 18+ in other places and vice versa. Especially for horror games.

Not intended for underage players would fit it better, imho. Hah. Drinking age in US is 21, so a game featuring beer should be 21+ ;-)

Thank you, I'll keep that all in mind.

I guarantee you the ones I reported were not borderline cases :)

Thanks for the reports, all the pages in question should have been handled. Looks quite a few comic creators are failing to read our quality guidelines with regards to classification of content. I’ll go through the page and notify the accounts.

Please do not hijack other people’s threads to get attention for your own issue, especially just so you can try to notify an admin.

Make sure you read the rules of the forum before posting.
