Haven't completed tax interview, not getting paid

I've emailed itch.io a few weeks ago about no payment coming through for the $100+ I've accumulated, then a follow up email a week later and still no response, I've had super fast replies in the past when it's been about things other than payments but I haven't had any reply from them at all in weeks and I'm a little concerned, does anyone have any advice?

Support sometimes gets swamped, and payout issues in particular can take a while to get sorted out. I'll make sure the right people see this.

Hello,

I found your support thread. It looks like you're refusing to fill out the tax forms. We require all sellers to take tax identity interview in order to be paid. It does not matter where in the world you are. We need to have the identity of the people we pay from our bank account. It is a legal requirement. The United States enforces this to ensure we withhold the correct amount of tax before sending payments overseas, and to ensure that we aren't financing organizations that are on blacklisted countries.

Once you complete the tax interview your payout will go through.

Thanks

I understand but my emails for clarity were ignored for weeks, I didn't refuse so much as query why as even steam didn't make me do this

Steam does do this but it is your responsibility to file tax return under steam: https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/finance/taxfaq

"Q. What is my responsibility regarding VAT, sales tax, or other similar taxes?

A. We can only provide you with information on how we handle VAT and sales taxes. You will need to consult with your tax advisors on your own tax obligations. In the monthly Steam Sales Report which can be viewed on the secure partner site (https://partner.steampowered.com/) under the "Reports Tab", you will find a link at the bottom of the report called "Steam Sales by Country". This may assist you in calculating your own tax obligations, if any."

Itch.io is under Merchant of record: https://blog.bmtmicro.com/e-commerce-basics-merchant-of-record/

Wait did you edit my title? it was originally 'Itch haven't paid me'

My main issue here was that multiple emails over the course of a few weeks were ignored based around a query of payments, that was the main issue, I literally only got a response because I posted publicly to ask for advice as I had been ignored and then within the same day I got a reply to my email, now editing my post title is a little odd?

The title was changed to enable people with similar issues to find the topic. The message board is a public place for people to find answers to the their questions. Titles that don't reflect the issue may be updated.

I'm sorry you didn't get a timely response to your question. We try to make all the information about the tax system available in our documentation. Your ticket didn't get escalated correctly in our support system.
