Game not found on searches after 5 days from publishing

Hi,

I'm concerned about my game not showing up on searches. I'm new to itch.io and understand that new creators games take time, but it's been 5 days since publishing.

I've read and followed the Indexing guide. Everything seems OK, however, the game doesn't show up.

Is there anyone who could shed some light on the problem? Anything I could do to fix it, or moderator to speed things up/take a look at it? I sure would appreciate it a lot!:)

Be patient; support has much to do these days. I'm sure your game is ok, wait another week.

Don't rely on itch to promote your game for you.

It's your first paid game. That always took longer. Says so in the docs.

Thanks, but could you please point me to the doc where it says that? What I found in doc

Getting indexed on Search & Browse

was this: " ...your page must be viewed by a moderator before it can be indexed. The most common case is for new sellers: If you've just created an account and you're selling your first project, then your published page is placed in a queue for review. We generally review these within a few business days after a project is published."

What is the reasonable time for me to wait for the indexing? Please kindly reply, Thanks in advance and all the best!

The documentation says a few days and surely, when it was written, it was indeed a few days.

Today, the reality is that a first paid game can easily take 2 to 3 weeks to appear indexed. I say these numbers based on what we see from other users. Itch does not officially release any statistics.

If you're lucky, it might get indexed sooner, but if you search the forum, it won't be uncommon to find people getting indexed between 10-20 days.

It depends. That's what the FAQ doesn't say exactly. And lately review times have been longer due to various factors.

Thank you very much! It's understandable that people have other lives too.
