The number on the garbage bin is related to a Paige Code Pic, it's not part of the gate code.
Also, I make it so you can't unlock the gate without knowing all 4 digits - trying all combos doesn't work.
The small silver key is for something near the bookcase - look around near the barrels.
At the entrance theres a red square you need to click - then you can look down at it, and if you have the notebook equipped, it will turn green (the square).
Yes, I saw a post about the train car and got the last number and the gate is open. I know from reading this post earlier after I open the gate I'm not supposed to exit but get a final bonus puzzle. How do I get to the final puzzle and what do I gain from solving the puzzle rather than just leaving?
I know this is probably a dead thread but here I am playing this and I'm stuck. The combination of tiles I've placed here fit every single criteria, yet it's still wrong.

For anyone else still lost on this (took me a bit), swap the red and yellow on the top row of the pic.
Make sure you have the coins, and click one of the colors.
It'll highlight a color, you click the color (example Green).
Then it'll select another color to continue the pattern, (Green, Purple)
You then click Green, Purple.
Then it'll select another color to continue the pattern, (Green, Purple, Red)
You then click Green, Purple, Red.
If that doesn't work, what happened exactly that caused it to get stuck?
So the gate code is all on the sticky note; you'll need all 4 digits to open the gate. The other set of numbers are for a Paige Code Pic, and they're found throughout the escape room in various ways.
I would say check/click the notebook, look carefully when viewing the bookcase from beside the barrels, and remember to equip items that seem relevant to specific part of the escape room.
Try clicking one of the 4 colors - any color, just keep clicking them until something happens. If nothing happens, you might need to reload an autosave. You're essentially waiting until a color lights up, then you click the color that does light up, then two colors will light up (one after the other), wherein you'll click the two colors in order, and so on.
But you're not the first person to have this issue, so I'll look into the code.
went back in time and started fresh. Back in the escape room. Solved the Simon puzzle. I have all but one item. I can’t get the space suit open. I cannot get up to the train. I cannot open the box under the colored boxes. And I have only found the 6 and the 8 on the sticky note. Any advice would help. I have both keys, the sticky, the notebook, the screwdriver, the fishing pole, the coins and the hammer and the ladder.
Thank you for replying. No, clicking the magnifying glass for the sticky note also does nothing. In both cases, I have also attempted hovering the cursor over every part of the magnifying glass, and it also doesn't light up like any other clickable item/figure in Escape Room.
If it helps, this is on a Windows 10 PC.
yep figured cuz I got some code to run the letters and only the set from the dictionary it was a breeze but jeesus I'm dumb thanks again tho. I got to the escape room and even found 2 keys a step ladder and hammer but couldn't advance any further and gave up after an hour it was a doozey great game tho 10/10
I'm wondering if you saw the "Thoughts" text at the top right of the screen, as it gave a ton of hints for the Escape Room.
If you join the Discord linked on my Itch, you could private message me and send the image of the solution. I imagine the part that's confusing is the mirrored column.

Yes. I did guess that was what was meant. I did not have it that way before but it is that way in the solution I am talking about. I will see about logging on to Discord to at least send you the picture. I am not a big user of Discord for staying connected to 'channels'. Mostly just communication with friends for game playing and just communication
There are several walkthroughs online. At the entrance there's also a give up button to move on, which won't cause you to miss any scenes or story content. And finally at the top right of the screen is the clickable word "Thoughts" that is kind of an in-game walkthrough.
