Baba is You not running on my Mac (Monterey)

Hi, I just purchased the bundle for Ukraine and wanted to try Baba is You, but unfortunately the game is simply not running on my Mac

I double click the file BIY_mac.dmg, nothing happens, I tried installing and launching from the itch.io app, it just opens the install folder with the BIY_mac.dmg in it, so it doesn't help

Nothing shows as well in the Security & Privacy settings screen

As there is no community page on the game's page, I'm trying here. Anyone having the same issue?

Thank you

Yeah I'm having the same issue too :( bought the Ukraine bundle and the game won't open for me either. Did you find a way to fix it or are you still having the issue?

Same

Got the same problem with the Windows version.

I don’t believe this is the same problem, as the two platforms work vastly differently when it comes to installing software.

Often people have issues downloading and running application from their web browser. We recommend using our free desktop application which can automatically install, update, and run all the games on our site.

You can download our app here: https://itch.io/app

Yeah, I'm a moron and solved the problem already. The problem was on my side. But thanks for the answer anyway!

A dmg is an archive file specific to macos. Typically when you open a dmg it will mount the folder on your desktop and allow you to drag and drop to install the application.

Any other support will have to be provided by the developer of the game, as they are responsible for packaging an distributing their game.

Hope that helps.

Thank you leafo, indeed there was this file on my desktop (did it appear after trying to run the dmg file? probably, not sure), I just had to open that, and then move the "Baba is You" icon in the opened window to my Applications folder

Now it works! Hope it helps other Mac users, for anyone still having this issue, just check your desktop for this file (see screenshot)
