It is "Galaxy" Now Right? (Event Ideas)

So, I realized that it is still called "Galaxy" now, and in a post by TreeGreen inspired me to tie that naming better to the game:

Comet Cycles (C.C.)

A flock of blue lights fly across the outer edges of the skies

Something that could come up if you decide to implement a system like this, because why would you just implement an un-juice-like sun/moon cycle when you can do so much more? Being able to look forward to events, and having it happen due to events you caused would give greater sense of progression. (Also if you want players to have a reason for more play time, it could be tied into this due to having to do certain stuff to unlock it).

Here is a table of ideas:

DescriptionRequirementsEffects
Azure lights flock across the skiesTo leave the School at the Start of the gameMakes flame particles blue and makes the skeletons on fire.
sans reference?
A green fog encompasses the skyYou visted the swamp biome (or whichever biome will have the froges)Froges will be able to spawn outside the biome for the duration of the green skies.
Meteors (Asteroids? Can't remember the terminology) streak across the skyHas revisited Ms. Slithers (Defeating isn't needed)Flying at high altitudes may result in a unexpected collision with a homing asteroid.
A Spike-y Moon (with the colors of the Creator's wig)Defeated the Creator (Maybe can be stopped by defeating him again?)Whenever it is out, it causes the pollywogs to turn into wereollywogs. A spikier version of the pollywogs, as well as a dangerous foe.
Multi-colored swirls of yarn and rope fill the sky, along with shimmering after it is knotted into it's placeBe in a high monster level area (so 50 monster level-ish) and defeat at least one highlevel monsterMake yarn burst out of defeated enemies, as well as adding in some lower level enemies.

I know none of these specifically will probably be added in; however, I hope you still have something in mind like this with cycles/events.

(Also, great work on the game! It's wonderful every time I step into it, or even think of stuff for it because it is so inspiring)

And feel free to comment more ideas for cycles/events!

Description:                                                                                                                                       requirements:

An army of (insert monster name here) is attacking the graveyard.                 The player has gone through like a quarter into the game. This happens randomly after that.

Effects:

An army of monsters attack the graveyard and steal your stuff. You can fight them off. However, It's hard because there are so many of them. Sometimes there may even be a boss. But there can never be multiple armies at once. And there is only one monster type in every army.

Thats really cool man. Glad to inspire you!

NPCs should have different text when an event is happening. Signy could be like the guide in terraria and tell you what's going on. For example, for the Azure lights event, Signy could say "Your going to have a bad time" "Azure lights in the sky makes skeletons really angry. Like, so angry that they catch on fire." And the old man could say something like, "I'd go outside to watch the stars, but i'd rather stay here. Also my feet are stuck to the floor."

There should also be an event (maybe azure lights, maybe the asteroid event) that causes the sky to become filled with stars, like it is falling from juice school and in the main menu.

Wonderful ideas and additions, I sure hope fishlicka picks up on this after getting the more important gameplay elements down (a.k.a. the armor). I didn't even think about the dialog; could open up a lot for character interaction and lore.
Again, thanks for the inspiration!

No problem!

I admit that I don't like the UnderTale reference, but otherwise I am impressed. I like the idea of a living weather system; and from a gameplay perspective it makes sense that at least some of them, if we could ever be so lucky, would be triggered by events in-game.

Ironically, even though I don't like the UnderTale reference, the comet one is tied with the green fog suggestions as my favorite because they each have an apparent influence on the world's characters, in this case enemies. I like the Spiky Juice Hair Moon's effect, but the aesthetic itself would be an eyesore; maybe a toned-down version wherein the moon is dark but has oily rainbow colors.

They would also be very moving to look at, at least as I imagine them:

1. The comet streaking across as you fall, or when we look up to the sky for the first time, would offer a sight of splendor and beauty to hint that this choice of ours to run away from an overly cruel teacher may have been the right choice- and that there are sights and phenomena she was trying to deny us.

However, I need to acknowledge that as I've typed this, the appeal of the comet goes entirely to aesthetic, as an event triggered by escaping from Juice School, for the reasons listed above. I concede that your idea is probably to have it just be a random event that could occur anytime after, not specifically as a cinematic backdrop to the escape like I've imagined it.

2. The 'Juice Moon', if I may simply call it that, even with the suggested adjustment, would still be unnerving to look at, and from a gameplay perspective it would be surprising and unnerving to see what a Pollywog is like as a credible threat.

3. The fog would be refreshingly organic, yet eerie; and its allowing frogs outside the swamp biome would really help to make the world feel alive and that these peculiar creatures still follow a logic of some sort.

The meteor one seems underwhelming in my opinion- at least until there's a *whole lot more* to do up that high- and the yarn one seems like missed potential, only aesthetic when the yarn could serve some gameplay purpose and/or hint at new story/worldbuilding elements.

Thanks for your thoughtful feedback! (Hopefully fishlicka will give this some thought too).
I actually agree with all of the points you've made, though maybe having the comet streaking across the sky be something in like a new game+ run. I'm also thinking about making the pollywog werewolf design in my free time to show to fishlicka to see what he thinks about it.

The meteor one and yarn one were just random pulls from thin air because I wanted to have more suggestions than three; moreover, I would love to hear some event suggestions from you!

Thanks again!
