Help with advertising my game

Of course my project is only in beta, but I need some help with getting a group of people that will try out my game and leave feedback or report bugs. My question is mostly: where/how do I advertise

I am developing my game with GMS2, which has a steam community page. I am gonna show off some gameplay there of course, but I don’t know where else to do it.

Well, the usual stuff, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and it would be great if you trailer on youtube. One thing for sure, if you submit on the game jam, it'll boost your game page traffic. And during the submission period, try to share your dev logs, artworks, or perhaps gameplay on their discord server. I still try to improve my marketing skills and here just sharing my experiences.

YouTube should work pretty well. I'm entering a gamejam that starts tomorrow as well.

I'd suggest on twitch, or optionally on youtube or discord with camming and streaming a lets-play could work, nebula49dev? Maybe adding an itch-playlist, marked as 'viewable for public' & checkbox to get it visible to your profile. Or adding a link to your dev's social-media blogs, etc.

Also I could offer testing it, in case it works as browsergame, being for free and my browser wouldnt lag when loading its graphics. I'm offering testing, translation from english to german language, finding bugs/typos, etc. while maybe different language-sections for your games, could get players prefer it because it's available not just in one language only. I've seen a e.g. spanish game, which wasn't translated but I don't understand it so couldn't offer translating it not even started it because of the description and title being in a different language.

Your game's tags and keywords could help players find your game. Same for choosing a creative title or bannerpic, possible screenshots.

Beta testing would definitely be helpful! I'll let you know if I need some help. Twitch is already something I use a lot, so doing devlogs there would work great

We released a Zero-Budget Marketing Manual last year, which offers a host of strategies for branding and marketing your game without a budget.

There's a free version available on Itch.io, too :)
