"Add experience to collection"

folks, sorry to ask such a basic question and believe me I did a search and looked at the FAQs.

Could some please tell me what "add experience to collection" means? It is within the "SHARE & FOLLOW" section on a download page

Does it relate to this from the FAQ, if so what is the "experience" bit about and why is it in the share and follow section?

"Can I organize the content I see/play/own on itch.io?

Sure! If you have an itch.io account, you can add any page to a collection, which you can then choose to show on your profile.

To add a page to a collection, simply click the ‘Add to collection’ button on the page itself."

Cheers all....

Odd. For me it usually just reads “Add To Collection”. Maybe the dev has personalized the site via CSS or something. If you could provide a link to the page it might aid the mystery solving. :)

Is it specific to one project only? Or do you see that on multiple projects?

When devs are uploading their game, they have the option to give it a different “noun”, so instead of calling it a game, Itch will call it something different.

I suspect a dev marked a game as an “experience” instead of a game, and Itch then displayed that on a button, so instead of saying “Add game to collection” it says “Add experience to collection.

This is just a guess, I can’t think of anything else.

Sounds like someone named their project an "experience". Just one of the customizations Itch allows.

thanks folks

yep, I can see now that it is just this on so as you folk said it is what the creator used instead of "game"

cheers!
