No problem, I ended up just uploading the HTML5 version to play in browser. You can play it here if you're interested ;)

Thank you for playing!

Hey gang, recently released a game onto here that I've been working on for quite a while but because I'm using gamemaker it had trouble with the touch controls in HTML so I had to release it for windows download. It's been up for about a month and has 9 downloads but in the first 2 days it got 30-40 views and 1 download. As HTML games seem to do better is it acceptible for me to reupload (or make a new copy called [Game name] HTML version) to help it get flowing again? I completely understand if this is ethically wrong though, I just don't think anyone will see the HTML change if I add it to a game that's been out for a month already.

If you downloaded the game please let me know if the downloader works

So should I just upload my game and hope for the best?

I'm thinking of uploading my first major project as a demo to itch.io but I was wondering what is stopping people from redistributing my game and saying they own it? I'm not known at all so it would be very easy to do that. Do I have some sort of protection from that? How do I set it up?

Thank you!

Probably a dumb question just wondering if I could start composing for the game before I code it. Thanks! Also does the game have to be insanely difficult or does it just have to be fun (or both!)

Also does the game have to be on the theme or is it more of a suggestion? This is my second game jam so I still don't super know how they work.

Cute and fun. definetely a warioware vibe game. Really well made with the limited

Lovely little game, funny and cool! I didn't really understand the goal or what to do at the slots. but the overall game was super fun!

This is the best game I have played on this game jam. The characters are adorable, it gives off kirby vibes, and the last 3 levels were really cool! 10/10 game. Well done!

Fun, but I couldn't figure out how to gain height, so I played the original and that was really fun!

Really fun game!

I didn't finish it, but I loved the level design and music! It was a really cool story idea too. Great game!

Super fun! I loved the mechanic of turning the lights off to see where not to go. I loved the first level when I though I was stuck, but then realized I had to position myself differently. I also loved the title screen music. However, Maybe next time don't have the turn light off and reset buttons next to each other, I clicked the reset button by accident too many times :D.  All in all, a really fun game that I will come back too!

Thank you!

Thank you!

That you very much! That's what I was going for.

Note: Game doesn't work right now, I am trying to fix it.

EDIT: Game has been fixed with help from @camo_g, and is fully playable (Also less difficult). Enjoy!

For gamemaker devs, can we use the sample project provided on github?

Hello! This is my first game jam, so I am confused about a lot of stuff, and I am using gamemaker. Can I make my room size 840 by 480 and my sprites 80 by 80 pixels so that is is bigger? Basically what I am asking is if I am allowed to make my sprites and room sizes bigger than 8 by 8 and 84 by 48 respectively to 80 by 80 and 840 by 480, but all the sprites can be divisible into 48 by 84. The reason I am asking is because I tried upscaling my game but when I launched it it was all fuzzy.
