Glad to hear that then!

I hope it's the good kind of "dying inside."

Been a few days since this post, are you still struggling to find them?

It'd be a fun project to do if I could actually write lmao

Ah yes, this one I caught myself but I kept forgetting to fix it. You are supposed to have the Red Candle for this one, yeah. I might fix this, thanks for reminding me.

About the location names, no, not intentionally at least. This game started development roughly a year before BotW even came out. Most of the location names are more tied to the old-school Zeldas more so than the modern ones.

In fact your previous map has more names than the original. The region names are overall correct though, as you had noticed stuff like spectacle rock on Death Mountain and the Gerudo Desert.

Some additional ones are Turtle Rock on O1 and Ganon's Tower on P1 for example.

And by the looks of it, it seems you did find every item. If your Bomb max is 32 that is.

This is awesome! Believe it or not, I actually never made a full map using the ingame layout itself. The whole overworld is a single scene in the engine, so it makes it hard to have a full view of it without much of the engine UI cluttering it. If you do end up finishing the grid, I'd like to see that too.

I'll look into the issues you mentioned, seems like a tile or two got missplaced.

Also, if you can post a screenshot of your inventory on your most complete playthrough I can tell you if you have everything or not. :)

It would be really cool to see! Never had someone ask for something like this before, so go with what feels best!

I actually still have the maps I made while designing the game, they're all in paper from how old they are hah.

It would be neat to see a walkthrough to see how extensive it is, or if it misses anything.

I liked the part with the french fry.

This is more of a sequel mechanically to zelda 1

Sou, sim.

It's usually in the lost woods in other games :)

There's a certain room where not killing all enemies might point you in the right direction.

Other than that, did you have any issues with the game? Hope you've been enjoying it so far!

Thanks a lot for playing it and the kind words! Is there any part that gave you a lot of trouble?

This was GameMaker Studio 1.4. I would've upgraded to Studio 2 that came out mid development, but the way the licenses worked meant I wouldn't have been able to make android builds, so I stuck with it.

I added an update that should fix this, thanks for letting me know!

Hello! First of all thanks for playing! Hope you're enjoying it.

I'll look into this, it seems to be an issue with this map then, because some of the rooms there should not exist in the map. Did you by any chance clip out of a room through any walls?

Very likely, kota's story isn't over yet.

That's unfortunate, there might be some issue with the unity player not running properly on your desktop. If you have any other device you could give it a shot there. Worst case scenario, you can watch Chapo's playthrough of it here, since it's fairly short:

There are no updates planned for this. Did you try both the desktop and browser versions? Did neither of them work?

Yo comencé a hacer una traducción al español (europeo) y llegar al cap. 3 me llevó varias semanas. Es algo que me gustaría hacer cuando sea el momento apropiado pero no dispongo de tiempo libre suficiente ahora mismo para dedicarle a la traducción.

Minoh ready with the content. You were faster than me!

Youtube VoD of Chapo's playthrough. I join in around the 00:13 min mark for an interview that lasts the entire playthrough. You can get some insight on the development.

(Warning: contains adult themes)

Thank you! This was definitely a successful test, and I'm looking into expanding this idea further.

Bombs drop from enemies as well!

A neat trick: Just like the original game, killing 9 enemies without being hit and then killing the 10th with a bomb should guarantee you get a bomb drop.

A peak? More like 90% of the game, he got through so much! (Granted I provided some guidance but still)

Fair warning, this stream contains adult themes both in terms of content and the interview.

Thanks for pointing that out, I will definitely add these for the next update. The only android device I own is a phone though so this will be hard to test for me.

I'll admit I never considered people would use gamepads on Android. I believe I might be able to make them compatible. I'd suggest playing the pc version instead if you're planning on using a gamepad though!

No, this is sfw only. Nothing against it, just wasn't the target for this project.

The Legend of Zelda: Fragments of Power

Getting the bombs first is a very good idea ;)

Heya DarkBloodbane, thanks for playing some more! This is really helpful.

1. The key purchase was indeed a bug, thanks for catching that. You could only buy keys if you had more than one already, which I'm surprised you happened to have when you bought them on the other spots. You should be able to buy keys once I post the update (shortly after this post).

That said, you really shouldn't need to buy keys. They were added sort of as a scapegoat in case I messed up a puzzle design in a dungeon so the player was never locked from progress, but in theory you should never need to buy keys. Dungeons have either the exact amount you need or sometimes an extra one or two.

2. You can't get the shield because you already have it, in fact you have it equipped in the picture. The first two shields are volatile, they can be lost, which is why there's more than one place to get replacements. (You just happened to find the one that's free!)

3. The jumping enemies were fixed in one of the updates. Once you update they should behave properly. If they still do weird stuff after an update, please post a screenshot of the room they're having trouble with, it would be greatly appreciated.

4. The time stop will temporarily disable any enemies that can become invulnerable like the Wizzrobes (wizards), Leevers (burrowing enemies) and Zora (fish guys). This is intentional as otherwise they would be frozen in an invulnerable state and you wouldn't be able to progress. They don't get killed however, just disabled, so returning to the room resets them. This is intentional.

5. I've tested this and found no issues. To clarify, only the Master Sword can destroy the white rocks. Were you using the Wooden Sword perhaps? The rock next to level 5 should work just like the others.

Again, thanks a lot for playing! Since you've progressed quite a bit, what are your thoughts so far? Also, if you have a rough estimate of how many hours you've played, would you mind sharing that?

Oh shoot! Yeah that's definitely unintended. In theory you shouldn't be able to get bombs until you find the bomb bags. But that was changed later in development after the item shops were made so I might've missed that. They should just not show up on the vendor until you have the bag. I'll add that to the list of fixes.

To answer your other question, the blue bottle is a health potion. You can't use it if your health is already full. You may also encounter a red potion that has 2 servings.

Good good! The levels are mostly a rough difficulty indicator, but many dungeons can be beat in a different order.

If you found dungeons then you are not stuck. Keep exploring!

Great to hear! I posted a hotfix just a few mins ago, if you haven't downloaded it yet I'd recommend the new version.

Left a comment on the video but thanks a lot for playing it! I took your suggestion for muting the audio and added it on a hotfix, as well as fixing a couple bugs I noticed during the video.

After many years of on and off development as well as a few debating wether I should make this publically available or not, I decided to publish my Zelda fangame: The Legend of Zelda: Fragments of Power!

Based on the original NES Zelda, it's created from scratch on GameMaker Studio (1.4 version, 2 wasn't even out when this project was started).

It tries to closely replicate the original game's mechanics. There might be some slight differences that the more exprienced players might notice, but otherwise I tried to stay close to the original.

However, this is a brand new quest with a new overworld and dungeon layout, filled with secrets and quite a number of dungeons!

A randomizer mode is also included though not recommended for a first playthrough.

A familiar look...

New inventory and equipment system. Now with 100% more item slots! (Sword is equipped to its own button!)

Hope you enjoy and any feedback is welcome, as well as any bug reports. A single person can only test so much!

Finally found the courage (heh) to publish this! Please let me know if you find any bugs, though it has been pretty thoroughly tested, one person can only find so many!

Human characters with Eldritch auras you say?

(Sorry for the shitty image, using google images is not what it used to be)
