Hi everyone,

I recently added Curvy Splines to itch.io. It's a Unity asset that adds the possibility to create splines and use them for various effects. The asset is available since 2013 on Unity's asset store, and the reviews there are overwhelmingly positive.
You can find more details about Curvy Splines here: https://toolbuddy.itch.io/curvy-splines

I hope you will find it useful.
Have a nice day

It took them 72 hours in my case: https://itch.io/t/882448/released-3-tools-at-once-only-two-of-them-appearing-on-...

For future reference, it took 72 hours to be visible on the store, knowing that I sent an email to support after 48h. I have no idea if the email did have an influence, since I got no answer for that email.

Thanks for all the information.

Thanks a lot Dark Dimension for being so helpful. Any idea how long that process is on average?

Hi,

I released at the same minute three of my tools. Two free and one paid. The free ones do appear in the store (I see them by selecting the tool category, and sorting by date of release). The paid one does not appear. I went through all pages and couldn't find it. But if you have its link you can still access it, so it is definitely publicly published. Does anyone have an idea about what is going on?

Thanks

Hi Dark Dimension, thanks for your answer.

The problem with the "different price" option is that, and correct me if I am wrong (I am new to itch.io), it would have the same price regardless of you having already bought the base file or not.

With the pateron solution, the problem is that you have to get people to go to your patreon, and create an account if they don't have already (this is my case). If options are part of the itch.io store, you will definitely impact more the people who are already there.

My real need is a per product subscription (like for Resharper for example for those familiar with it): users will get updates for free for a year, and then have to pay again if they want to keep getting the newer versions. The other ideas were suggestions based on what I have seen people here and there ask for, so I thought since these needs are kind of related, let's put them all in the same post.

For a lot of developers, a one time payment is not enough to sustainably work on software that is constantly improving over the years. Having one of the following solutions will help:

  • A per product subscription: You get free updates and support as long as you pay yearly
  • A per developer subscription: same than previous, but for all the products of a developer
  • A paid update: give a developer the possibility to mark a specific update (and the following ones) as being a paid one

Thanks for your time

Hi

I uploaded the following image as a screenshot for my product page: When itch.io generate a thumbnail out of it, the thumbnail was actually bigger in size than the actual image.

My images were compressed through websites similar to https://tinyjpg.com/ or https://compresspng.com/

I think you can cute a lot of bandwidth expenses thanks to this.

Have a nice day

Thank you all for the confirmation. I know it is common sense that changing a setting is possible, but I come from the Unity Asset Store where reality does not always follow common sense. I have a PTSD now because of that :D

Hi,

I am planning on selling my software on itch.io. I have to set to choose a Payment Mode between "Collected by itch.io" and "Direct to you". My question is: will I be able to change my choice once done?

Thanks
