really fun game.

upgrades to gain new action give a nice sens of progression.

Slicing the enemies is so good :D

and the one with their shield a nice variation ;) and of cause too many spikes for me to not die many times XD

that was the plan to have following levels with more and more walls and more maze like

and even in my dreams (I was from start quite sure I would ever have the time to make it) have the last level  with enemies like the ghost from packman wandering and chasing you.

but I ran into bugs, that prevented me from going very far in my plan.  For example, the other snakes that spawn are clone-ghost of the player and should follow the same path the player went (spawning from different point - the last non plain slab the player passed by) but they some time go rogue; not look like a big issue when the level is just an open field like the first level, but I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be nice in a maze  :(

same with the timed sequence with the power pellet that allow the player to eat the other snake temporary. Doesn't always respwam when it must or the growth of the tail of the player is wrong.

So decided 2h before the deadline to cut that behind a win screen; and was so tired and stressed I managed to fail that :(

edit: had plan to export also the game as html5; but I don't know why the game is full of glitches in html5

yeh, nowaday it's common to have the input being more responsive (and often even more forgiving).

And on a second thought, you are right. Except a few nostalgic of the oldschool inputs, most players won't like my inputs handling :(

technically it's voluntary that the snake movement are constraints to a grid and that the inputs are handled the old school way (like in the nibbles.bas of my childhood); meaning you need to be pressing the key the frame the snake pass the grid.(so you need to anticipate the turning).

Kinda one of the rare thing that did work as intended. (in code at least; in term of design perhaps not the wisest choice if my goal was to get the best rating)

a furious clic the attack button on stack of ennemies non stop game :D (at least in easy mode)

played through in easy mode (after a fast death in normal), finished it :)

the last fight with the flighing heads that target you was a bit long; but they seems to give tons of souls, so was always able to recharge my health - kinda the disavantage of lvl30, while before you just wait for the level up to replenish the health :p

enough fun to keep me going on until the end

very nice music&ambiance

click the sugmit button on the gamejam page and then select your game in the droplist

edit: also ensure your game is published and public (draft can not be submited to the game jam I think, IDK for privat game ...)

google it:

it's abstract and can be interpreted in a lot of sens, so take one you prefer and go for it.

Same question for me, cause a 160x144 on a 4k screen is going to looks... XD

and for what I have seen from past BGjam games seem none is a really 160x144 pixels (but I don't know if the rule was the same).

so do the screen of the game just to be some grid of 160x144 squares ?
