==me==

Hello, I'm Sylvain, a 46-year-old Swiss introvert. Since 2017, I've been developing in my free time with the GameMaker game engine on and off.

I'm confident in my coding and game design skills, but I'm terrible at composing music and creating 2D art. As a result, most of my work stays in the prototype phase.

That's why I'm looking for a team to increase my chances of making a game.

Here are my Itch.io and GameJolt pages for the few projects that I've made public:

== my project ==

The plan is to bring the team together first. Each member should present themselves, what they can do, and what they can't or don't want to do. Then, we will brainstorm game ideas. Finally, we will vote on the ideas to pick the most popular one. Then, we will make it a reality.

It might not go as smoothly as I hope, but I'm confident we can make it work.

== who I'm looking for ==

- 18+ preferred

- Some experience in their craft

I'm looking for people who can commit at least 3-5 hours per week for the foreseeable future. I don't yet know the scope of the game, but I imagine it will take a few months to a year or two.

The required:

- 2D artist (pixel art, HD, or vector; .svg support was added in the last version of GameMaker).

- [1 joined] Music composer

Nice-to-have:

- Animator (If you use Spine, that's perfect. GameMaker supports it natively. Otherwise, you need a tool that can export a PNG spritesheet)

- SFX

- [1 joined] Writer

Other:

If you have other talents you think could be useful to the team (level designer, voice actor, project manager, etc...)

As mentioned in the title, this is an unpaid hobby project. Everyone involved contributes for practice and creative fulfillment. Full credit will be provided, and you'll be free to share the game, even in its alpha version, as well as any content about it.

If interested, please join the following Discord channel:  closed  [2 2D artist joined]

If you have any questions, please comment, and I'll happily answer as soon as I can.

Only for windows!

Introducing a groundbreaking twist in arcade-style space shooters: In "Dust Busters" your mission is not to merely obliterate enemy ships but to strategically vacuum the cosmic dust they leave behind.

A run is pretty short 1-2 minutes max.

have you tried the  fn+backsp ?

finished.

really fun game.

upgrades to gain new action give a nice sens of progression.

Slicing the enemies is so good :D

and the one with their shield a nice variation ;) and of cause too many spikes for me to not die many times XD

a furious clic the attack button on stack of ennemies non stop game :D (at least in easy mode)

played through in easy mode (after a fast death in normal), finished it :)

the last fight with the flighing heads that target you was a bit long; but they seems to give tons of souls, so was always able to recharge my health - kinda the disavantage of lvl30, while before you just wait for the level up to replenish the health :p

enough fun to keep me going on until the end

very nice music&ambiance

click the sugmit button on the gamejam page and then select your game in the droplist

edit: also ensure your game is published and public (draft can not be submited to the game jam I think, IDK for privat game ...)

google it:

https://www.google.ch/search?q=ouroboros

it's abstract and can be interpreted in a lot of sens, so take one you prefer and go for it.

Same question for me, cause a 160x144 on a 4k screen is going to looks... XD

and for what I have seen from past BGjam games seem none is a really 160x144 pixels (but I don't know if the rule was the same).

so do the screen of the game just to be some grid of 160x144 squares ?
