thank you so much for your kind words!
I was worried that some sounds might feel a bit off because of my mixing skills - I never thought about that this might add to the athmosphere, but it makes sense.

I appreciate your time - and everyone else's who tried my game :)

again: thank you!!

thank you :) I'm glad that it works as intended ;)

thank you very much!!:)

thank you!!

LMAO no I wish

it was a really nice game until now! Unfortunately my game crashed when I entered the locked room on the attic. As I wanted to read the note near the piano, it crashed :(

but I will definitely finish it tomorrow because it was fun and I like the art style !!

ofc! just add me: @copeuwu

Heyy this sounds like a cool idea! I am planning on doing a short horror game for my portfolio next so I'd love to talk about horror devs about making horror games!

Hello! I ama Godot Dev for 2 years now and am really interested in your idea of creating a studio. I would like to join you but I am already 23 years old. I hope this isnt a problem.

I am starting to study applied computer science in october so this would be a great opportunity to build something together.

Cheers!

hey I would be really interested I am a godot dev but currently also learning unity and c# so I could get it all together. I also have a few horror ideas :)

your game looks so smooth I really like it I hope you will continue working on it!

Hello everyone! My name is Blue Shell and I have been a solo game dev for nearly a year now. I have participated in solo 72hr game jam #7 and released my first game ever. Now I am working on something bigger - without being bound to themes and having a deadline.

This game is called "The Bit Warrior" and is deeply inspired by the NES Ninja Gaiden and Castlevania Titles. I am also planning on adding a souls-like system if I figure out how to implement it. Right now I am using 8 bit music and assets from itch.io, everythings free for use. I wont use them any further than in this prototype project of course.

Summary:

You play as "the Warrior" and your goal is to find the reason to why your universe is dying. In this demo you start in a dungeon and progress through a just recently colonized planet to get to the "City of Morpheus".

In the beginning you spawn with just your sword and a simple jump, but soon you will encounter small storms of darkness which give you upgrades! with these upgrades (2 in total in this prototype) you will be able to further progress through the demo world.

I also placed several checkpoints. These save your position in case of death. Also, every checkpoint fully heals you each try.

How long to beat? Approximately 5-10 minutes

Like I said I am trying to recreate the charme of those 80s action platformers and am proud to show you all what I have done in the last month. I will continue working on this as much as I can.

It would be nice to hear what you think about my idea, my game and my presentation, because this is the first time I have ever done this.

Any kind of criticism would be cool!

Cheers!

First of all, I am not a native english speaker so I apologize for eventual typos etc.

As you could guess I am in search for a team to help me make a horror game. First, let me tell you my idea but please note that I'm still in the planning phase, even though I already have something in mind:

The Game (WIP)

The game is based in a abandoned dungeon deep under a old castle in the ages of darkness. The player must find his way through these strange floors and find a important bracelet. It is used to restore all light in the world and the protagonist was the only one capable of carrying it due to his strong will.

Attacking: The player will be able to defend himself with a Sword in his right hand. In his left hand he is carrying a torch to light his way through the dungeon.

Monsters: Are no big threat, but who knows what else lurks in these dark hallways…

When the player gets to the bracelet things start to seem off: Doors disappear, new hallways occur and stairs add to the confusion and vastness of this ancient building.

Footsteps start to echo through the empty halls, as well as doors being opened and closed.

As the player finds a staircase leading even deeper into the abyss a oppressing silence overcomes him. Also, his torch goes out and the way back is a wall all of a sudden.

Inspiration

This game is inspired by: classic first-person dungeon crawlers like Ultima Underworld with a more modern approach, Amnesia: The Bunker and one of my favorite horror short stories “The Music of Erich Zann”. While the beginning of this game is relatively normal and focuses on exploration and puzzling, the player will eventually recognize small hints to what this is all about. It all begins within a seemingly generic dungeon. But as soon as the player finds a sapphire bracelet, things start to change. The atmosphere gets more tense over time and climaxes in a depressing and hopeless end.

I am seeking help in the following subjects: 3D Art, Music, Level Design and Programming.

I myself am a ongoing programmer with 1 year experience in GDScript. I would welcome anyone who wants to make this game happen.

I'm relatively new in game programming (1 year expierence) but I'd like to join your team as a programmer. I'm learning something new every day and am sure we can do some cool stuff

I've finished my first game a couple weeks ago you can find it on my profile

I can understand when you don't want an relatively unexpierenced programmer though !

thank you for your kind words! yes I wanted to make a clicker zelda like but as you could think I really had to cut it down due to time
I really appreciate your feedback!

thank you :)

thanks for your feedback I really appreciate it!!

Thank you! I will be back next time :D
And I patched the enemy HP because yes, it was kind of cracked xD I thought more hp = difficult but I learned its just annoying at some point.

Thanks for sharing your feedback <3

Haha yes they are :D our taste in video games is just fantastic^^

thank you for playing my game <3 I'm glad you enjoyed it!!

I had fun and the puzzles are interesting. I got stuck on Level 7 though. I know it has to do something with the trampoline but I couldn't solve this one.

My favorite puzzle was the one where you find the ears, very creative!

I also liked your interpretation of the theme! Well done :)

11/10 I honestly was sad when it was over I wanted to play more! At first it was hard and I died a couple times but when you get used to the controls it is so much fun

fun little game, simple but effective and I kinda like the artstyle, I couldn't get past round 21 though

peak game and soundtrack is FIRE maybe a bit easy but thats just personal preferation, well done!

had a lot of fun and the crsytal ascent music is fantastic! the music in ur game in general is pretty good and gameplay is also a lot of fun! nice job :)
