First of all, I am not a native english speaker so I apologize for eventual typos etc.
As you could guess I am in search for a team to help me make a horror game. First, let me tell you my idea but please note that I'm still in the planning phase, even though I already have something in mind:
The Game (WIP)
The game is based in a abandoned dungeon deep under a old castle in the ages of darkness. The player must find his way through these strange floors and find a important bracelet. It is used to restore all light in the world and the protagonist was the only one capable of carrying it due to his strong will.
Attacking: The player will be able to defend himself with a Sword in his right hand. In his left hand he is carrying a torch to light his way through the dungeon.
Monsters: Are no big threat, but who knows what else lurks in these dark hallways…
When the player gets to the bracelet things start to seem off: Doors disappear, new hallways occur and stairs add to the confusion and vastness of this ancient building.
Footsteps start to echo through the empty halls, as well as doors being opened and closed.
As the player finds a staircase leading even deeper into the abyss a oppressing silence overcomes him. Also, his torch goes out and the way back is a wall all of a sudden.
Inspiration
This game is inspired by: classic first-person dungeon crawlers like Ultima Underworld with a more modern approach, Amnesia: The Bunker and one of my favorite horror short stories “The Music of Erich Zann”. While the beginning of this game is relatively normal and focuses on exploration and puzzling, the player will eventually recognize small hints to what this is all about. It all begins within a seemingly generic dungeon. But as soon as the player finds a sapphire bracelet, things start to change. The atmosphere gets more tense over time and climaxes in a depressing and hopeless end.
I am seeking help in the following subjects: 3D Art, Music, Level Design and Programming.
I myself am a ongoing programmer with 1 year experience in GDScript. I would welcome anyone who wants to make this game happen.
