Not forgotten, just unnecessary IMHO.

QUESTION ON AN ISSUE OF CONTENT:

Someone has offered to provide a serial story for the ezine.

My question:

"Would you prefer an ezine with adventure settings, stats, etc., NPCs, Magic Items, Reviews, AND... a serial short story line based upon an ongoing campaign -- would including short story format risk turning the project into a creative writing ezine instead of a gaming ezine?"

What do you think? Is there other content that should also be considered?

These spells come from the SRD 3.* system. All of Microlite20 is from that source. Unless the spell calls for a test of some sort they are automatically a success... you just have to pay the cost in HP. The difficulty test comes into play occasionally when you are casting against another magic user who can use a counter-spell against your spell, and monsters that have a natural defense against magic.

The Difficulty Target is the number that will be used by an opposing party trying to counter or resist your spell. Thus the higher your level, the higher the DT for the spell, and the more difficult it is to counter the spell.

I am going to ask for a little favor. Could you go to my website and leave glowing reviews for KOOKS 2d10 RPG mentioning what a great game it is and how handsome the author is?

:)

I don't know what happens to people who use Fakebook. They get weird and fanatical about strange things. I have been getting RPG groups rejecting this and other posts because I use AI generated art. I get that AI hurts artists, etc., but this is a free ezine I have just started, and if I didn't use AI I it would have ZERO images, no cover art -- nothing, nada, nichego!

I have tried to get submissions including art work, but nothing so far. A few people have said they are working on something, but so far its just me.

If you really hate AI that much, please submit non-AI art so that I can include it in next months issue, or use it as the cover art!

thank you

Also, I just thought that this would go perfectly with using https://dungeonscrawl.com/ for online play.

What would you suggest for Monsters? How to generate Monsters from a sentence? Perhaps capitalized names of people, places and things could be the marker for Monsters, and perhaps a simple table using the first letter of the word and the number of letters up to 5 to determine the type of monster? That would be a matrix of 24 by 5 which would provide quite a lot of monsters. Perhaps even treat vowels differently than consonants?

NotebookLM creates an audio overview of a project that you upload. Here is the review for GRIT AND BULLETS 2ND EDITION:

I jump around a lot between rules systems. Even Rules-Lite systems. I find that I forget at times that Kooks uses 2d10 rather than 1d20. Oh my!

Well, my players are kind enough to remind me, but... it doesn't seem to make big differences. The real difference is the lack of the 'curve'. 1d20 has no curve. So if you want to use a 1d20 rather than 2d10 just remember to adjust the critical hits and misses... or not. Its up to you!

Hmmmm. Yes, that is a little more complicated than I expected, but not a bad thing. I can see how it could be tempting to allow the corruption points to build up to improve spellcasting, but then it will become even more difficult to remove. Interesting! Thanks for the explanation!

I like the ideas and the tables are awesome! but...

I was a little confused by one thing: on page 11 it states that you can 'remove 2 corruption point: 1pt for every 3 existing levels of corruption'. Does an advancement point remove one corruption point or three?

I am going to really try to make no further changes to the rules, or if I do wait until 1st January 2026 to post them. Until then all additions and changes will be found in the attached Addendum.

"What is the 2d10 system you ask? It is intended to replace the 1d20 used commonly in some RPG systems. I think the big advantage of using 2d10 instead of 1d20 is that the roll results in a ‘bell curve’ with most of the results in the center, and fewer at the outliers — in other words it is more unlikely to roll very high or very low. This does create some changes that should be considered by the GM as noted in this blog post."

https://squirewaldo.itch.io/history-squares

Each player begins the game by randomly selecting a semi-historical Nation and then competes with the other players to conquer squares on the map board in order to expand the player’s Dominion. Each player receives Coins for each square he or she conquers. As the player’s Nation expands it reaches the limits of that Nation’s further growth. At that point the player may choose to put that Nation into Decline and then select another Nation to expand. The player with the most Coins wins!

The Hobo Way -- Challenges of Modern Survival

https://squirewaldo.itch.io/the-hobo-way

Hello. Just reminding people that this Jam is going until the end of the month. For some reason it was not put on the calendar and no one at ITCHIO can explain why. I am sure I did something wrong, but I don't know what.

Still plenty of time though for you to participate!

I really liked this game and I am eager to play it.
I wrote a brief review which I hope I can update after playing!

REVIEW: Stargazer, by Scott Malthouse

I have been updating the cards one per day. If you have not checked it out give it a look!

https://squirewaldo.itch.io/dr-not-so-nice-character-card-minions

Well done!

Oh. So sorry. I thought that was you! :) Thank you for the info!

Is there someone I could ask that could answer?

Hello again! It looks like my Jam is not going to be put on the calendar. I will live. :)

But I do wonder what I did wrong?

If I ever decide to do another Jam, unlikely, I would like to know what to do and what not to do. I followed all the rules that were provided, I think. It would be nice to know what I need to do in the future.

Thank you so much!
