Hi! I've been prototyping a movement FPS since May 2025 in Godot 4.5 and am currently working a multiplayer version of it. It's all been me currently, and I've been using Cursor to do most of the work. I've been making it reasonably well so far, but my inexperience of enemy AI, multiplayer networking, and level design has been causing a huge roadblock for me.

For a milestone of the development, I'd like to do some tests related to single player levels and enemies, as well as improve the netcode for the game. If I had some help, I feel like it would go by much faster at a higher quality. I'm working on this more as a portfolio piece and to learn, but maybe it can get cleaned up as a game jam thing and plopped on Itch?

In any case, I'm looking for people to cut their teeth on a project like this:

Low-poly circa 2003 cel shaded FPS with platforming, speed, and combat encounter focused level design using Goldgdt (Half-Life 1/Goldsource) player controller in Godot and Trenchbroom mapping workflow.

I'll post more pictures of the game later since I'm writing this from my phone. I have videos but can't really post them here.

We can continue conversation after reaching out here on Discord. @sokky

Thank you for your time reading this!

I'd like to see a different approach to teaching some things possibly.

For instance, talking about a workflow for making 3D models, talking about techniques for specific programs such as Maya compared to 3DSMax, the approaches needed to be taken for mechanical models/rigging versus character modelling and rigging, etc.

That and how to write different kinds of shaders for different art styles and visual effects would be nice! Making abstract animated visuals for 3D spaces ala Rez or DDR SuperNOVA would also be a welcome addition.

I'd like to see if I can't try my hand at making something for it!

If you'd like I could show you the kinds of art I do and am capable of, but I'd also like to see the kind of style you're going for with it before making anything for it. Thanks!

Twine's great for stories but I haven't looked into it very much. I wouldn't mind making a short VN style game of some kind! It's been something I've thought about many times.

As for Construct 2, I'm not so sure. I've been trying to learn (rather, learn scripting with Unity) for years but not exactly trying to make anything to train myself. How much easier is it to program or script with Construct 2?

Hey everyone!

I'm Sokky, and I've been trying to get into game dev for a good 6 years now (starting around middle school). I'm 20 now, but I'm a digital/traditional artist mostly specializing in character designs and game concept designs. I've got a really ambitious vision and standard for my 20+ game concepts, and while I'm eager to get started immediately I don't exactly have the programming knowledge and artistic polish necessary to make a game all by myself. So I've been trying to get myself to make a game by myself but it obviously isn't working, so I'm joining communities and looking for people who might want to contribute to what I have to offer or even offer myself to other projects!

I hope I can have everyone playing my games soon!
