Still doesn't work unfortunately, same issue as before :/

It doesn't seem to work for me. Tried a couple other solutions posted on that site and couldn't do it.

Yes, I think it is a problem with the OS I'm running, but it's strange that I can run most other games, but not yours unfortunately. So I assume there could be something you can do. I could be wrong however. I looked up some details about your game and assume, you built it with Unity (?).

I have found this on the web, which might helps: https://forum.unity.com/threads/issue-opening-unity-mac-applications-on-mac-big-...

Let me know if you can figure it out :)

(1 edit)

Wanted to play your game, but I can't get it to start on MacOS 11 Big Sur. It says I have no rights to open it, but I am the administrator of the iMac I'm using. It seems to be a more common issue on Big Sur, but strangely there are many applications and games that work just fine when downloading and others that unfortunately don't. Maybe it's solvable by exporting the game with different settings but I really don't know.

YouTuber here! :3

I'll just add myself to the list of interested YouTubers for promotion and reviewing.

I've been on this platform for a while and  got SOME-hundred subscribers. Just some time ago I started to do daily videos again.

Note that I'm a german-speaking YouTuber, so you might not understand everything I say, but if your goal is promotion it can still help.

Also I play and work on an iMac, so your game should be runnable on Mac.

If you're interested, I'd be grateful if you fill out this short Google Form: https://forms.gle/sr7d52uQ14X2Adk87 to send me your game.

Very fun idea! Really like the visuals on this. Took me a while to figure out how it works but I was just a bit dumb and didn't read the description ^^'

Very hard though, that one-hit-death on the king is pretty unforgiving ^^'

Thank you very much! <3

Amazing! God I kinda felt like I was playing Zelda in first person with that crossbow and button and bridge stuff ^^

One thing I personally might would have added was a little knockback when hitting enemies but I guess it's taste :)

Have to say, it's a really cool game... I didn't make it through even though I've seen the ghosty boss ^^

Overall very polished took me a while to understand how to fight against the spear guys but once u figure out it's "doable" ^^

Still very challenging which typically is a good thing but I would have loved it and probably at least made it to the end of the game if there was something like a checkpoint.

One problematic thing is that 1. Your sword gets disabled when you get hit (which by no means is a "bad" mechanic, it's just a bit frustrating but okay) and 2.  You can't push enemies away or go through them. Combined with 1. this sometimes leads to undeniable death especially if you get surrounded by multiple enemies or get stuck in a small room (f.e. the toilet room?). You pretty much just can't escape and since you can't hit the enemies once you get hit once you're pretty much done ^^'

Still very fun to play and cool attack schemes :3

Hello, thanks for your detailed feedback, I'm glad you liked it anyway :)

Your solution to that problem with having to release and pressing the button again definitely is an interesting approach I would consider next time I implement this mechanic into the game. I noticed this problem in my own playtests and the way I tried to fix it was to simply removing the possibility to accelerate downwards after hitting a spring for a very short time period (around 0.2 seconds). This way you are forgiven for "messing up" releasing the button. Think of it like the time frame that is often given after you run off a floor and you still can jump.

I think the problem in this game was that this mechanic apparently was very new to most people (even considering myself, but I quickly got the hang out of it by playtesting a lot of course ^^') and I placed a very hard jump right at the beginning. Apparently many players quickly got frustrated that way since they hadn't had any chance practicing with easier jumps and being rewarded for that. Also there could have been things supporting the player by somehow making him understand how to deal with this mechanic. (Could have explained that the player has to build up as much momentum as he could by pressing the down key at the highest point and releasing it right as he was about to fall on the spring).

That you can't trigger the fast fall after falling off the floor most likely is a bug. I don't quite remember how I coded this atm but it probably had to do with the way I coded the jump mechanic and tied it directly to the accelerate downwards mechanic so that you can only do that if you had first jumped once (even after falling off an edge). So it pretty much is just a bug I could have fixed if I noticed ^^'

Yes, I didn't tell much in the game itself, that was mostly a time problem because of the jam. It would have been written in the description on the game page though but I know that few people first read the description so yeah, my bad :)

The knockback was depending on the size of the creep hitting you and you could kinda handle how much you where being knocked back by moving against the knockback. The way I handled it was not ideal but it felt kinda intuitive since you didn't lose control over your character after being hit (which is often the case in other games).

Anyway, once again, thank you VERY MUCH for your feedback. It helped me a lot by re-thinking about everything you mentioned. I probably won't work much on this game anymore but I really this down-mechanic and it definitely made me realize other find this idea interesting too so I might consider including this feature in another game I am currently working on :)

Thank you very much! :)

Haha, that's a cute one ^^

Gotta admit, I was surprised by the atmosphere you built and the dirty but fitting looks. Very fun experience.

Only odd thing I noticed is that the zombies just wanted to hug and be friends with me as they didn't even really attack me :3

Keep it up :D

Have to admit it looks lovely.

The controls mostly worked fine for me even though I had problems with my mouse, since after a while I got it to stay hidden when playing but then I could not select any buttons when a new dialogue appeared. Would probably be fine if you just added the possibility to select the buttons with arrow keys and stuff like that.

Also the first level was alright but losing all the ammo when starting a new level is strange and frustrating especially when you immediately get attacked by 4 enemies when you enter.

Also I didn't get how I was supposed to kill the ghosts since they appeared to take no damage :o

Might just be me being dumb tho ^^'

But overall still a very cool game, everything but the things I pointed out is very polished. Liked it very much :)

Thank you very much for your honest feedback! :)

I'm glad you liked the game! <3

Very cool idea. Gonna keep it on my computer ^^

Just had one problem, apparently sometimes my character just stops shooting even though he's got arrows left. I'm just confused since I don't know if it's a bug or I'm just being dumb.

But overall amazing game!!!

Wow this game is amazing!

Really creative idea with sucking up stuff like Kirby but not being like Kirby at all ^^

I wish this was longer but of course it's a GameJam-Game :)

Only thing I noticed is that if you jump against a wall you stick to it without falling until you stop walking against it, but that really wasn't a big problem.

5 Stars for you! Keep it up mate! :)

Very creative idea!

Though the difficulty spikes very quickly after the first level so that I hardly could try out the different weapons before I immediately lost. Also many of the gems spawned inside of buildings I couldn't reach but I probably was just very unlucky in these runs ^^'

Still very cool game :)

Thanks for the feedback! Next time I'll try to make a clearer start! :)

Thank you very much! :3

Really cool, would be so awesome to have it implemented as a built-in tool in Godot! :3

I've tried it, and the UI is really clean! Would love to see more features and some quality of life changes :)

Still I don't understand how I should be able to insert a tile into the right side of the program like in the screenshot ._.
