This game - Charted Chaos is a top down pixel shooter game where you play as a ship fighting enemies, but instead of playing in an ocean, you are on a treasure map.

Today I just added a sound track and decreased the difficulty.

what should I change or add to the game?

thanks!

great, thanks for the feedback!

I'll do my best to incorporate these ideas

this is a demo for a top down shooter game I am making about a ship fighting on a treasure map, and I recently updated it to change the enemy spawning system and add upgrades to the game, but I'm not sure what to do next, any ideas?

here is the game:

This is a 2d top down pixel shooter game where your a ship fighting enemies but instead of swimming in an open sea, you are on a treasure map.

today I completely reworked the enemy spawning system, and now instead of them spawning at a constant rate, it gets progressively harder.

I also added some automatic upgrades; higher fire rate and triple shot.

you can play it here:

so if I want a bigger island with the same outline I would have to use a higher resolution or a lower resolution?

I have a pixel art image of an island that I created in piskelapp, the problem with it is that when I scale it up in unity, the size of the pixels in the outline of the island also get bigger, which looks like the camera is just zoomed into the island rather than that the island is bigger, how can I maintain the size of the outline pixels no matter the scale of the island?

hello GMTK

This game is a top down pixel shooter game where you play as a ship fighting against flocks of birds, but instead if swimming in the ocean you are on a treasure map.

today I added smooth camera following, added some sound effects, fixed some bugs and increased the screen size so you can see more of the map.

in the future I plan to give the player the ability to enter and explore the islands and add some more enemies.

thanks for the feedback! I just realized that the player can escape the map into the ocean, that was not what i intended lol

I recently made prototype for my game, "Charted Chaos", which is a top down shooter where you play as a ship on a treasure map. The thing is that I don't know if it is a game that people will like or if it is even good, so I would appreciate any feedback on it:

I recently started making a pixel art top down shooter game where you play as a ship on fighting enemies, but instead of fighting in an open ocean, you fight on a treasure map.

right now the game has only sailing and shooting mechanics but I plan to add a lot more in the future.

lol you beat my high score

thanks for the feedback!

I just noticed that I didn’t remove the controls from the description, I deleted that feature when i made the game work on mobile.

I originally made this game a few months ago as a remake of an old game I made in python, but it was very buggy and I never really finished it. A few days ago I finally fixed some bugs and completed it. It's a very simple game but I kind of like how it turned out.

I would appreciate any feedback:

I appreciate the feedback!

right now I am working on changing the spawning system to make the game more playable, so it will update in a few minutes.

could you send me a link to the VOD once its on youtube?

also you can move left and right and with a and d

thanks for the feedback!

I noticed there were a few comments talking about the difficulty, but right now I am working on another game jam, but I will update it in the future

pretty cool game, love the idea

great game, just a little bit to short.

oh right, I will add them

thanks for the feedback!

I designed the game in a way that makes the enemies move in a group at the beginning and then gradually spread out. From my experience you can jump over the group of enemies, maybe I could because I played the game for like 5 hours in the process of creating it.

Anyways I’ll try to make it more possible lol

thanks!

oh lol I didnt realise you can sprint

pretty cool game, my main takeaway is that you move really slow and I kept getting stuck e very to seconds in the part with the bottles but I love the concept, and definitely not something I could do in 48 hours.

also you cant move diagonally.

it says on the overview of the jam that the theme of the game is up to the participant

thanks!

thanks, could you elaborate more, like which images specifically don’t match?

thanks!

nice gane
