Hail the King of the bombs. His credible power beholds the control over time. The core gameplay of your game is entertaining. The graphics, sound, and control are in beautiful harmony. You placed the right difficulty level for the game jam. The level could but been a bit less boxy. A harmonic fantastic good entry for the jam!
I call that a mindblowing intro. Maybe even one of the best in the game jam. Its sketch art was also convincing. I missed the core gameplay in the game itself though. The idea with the walkman was awesome, but the feeling and presence of the walkman were not there. The level was very detailed with many elements and objects. I could also recognize that the UI had received a lot of love. But I would advise for the future to focus on a small core game concept for a game jam because it happens very often that a small game with a great idea creates a lot of fun. My congratulations on your submission and keep up creating games!
A game that touches your senses not so much as it touches your soul. A gaming reminder about how important health and memories are in all our lives. Well done encapsulating the rewind topic into this solution. I believe that you could put this type of game also in another format than 2D Platformer to get even a more intense experience while rememorizing his life. Congratulations on your entry!
A brutal murder has happened and will the detective will be able to solve it? This concept has definitely potential. From my feeling, the setting should a bit different. I would try to take a more real-life scenario where it would be hard to detect the perpetrator like in a house, park, restaurant, hotel. You could also start the scene with the crime scene already happened. In this case, you would really need to rewind everything to find out the criminal. This would also be a portal for multiplayer, where the player has to compete against each other to find the suspect as fast a possible. Do it really have to be a murder, maybe you have to find a pickpocket and that would be maybe much harder. Great job with your work and creativity.
We proudly present a new Netflix production: What The Hole. The story would fit into a dark ambient science fiction series. The collection of the memory images was a cool element in your game. The graphics of those images had the right characteristic dark mood style. Displaying the names above of the characters was very helpful. Adding the current mission to the UI was a very good decision since it would be caused frustration to find the correct npc's. I believe a pixel art environment would have pushed this game ambient much further. Maybe its an option in the future? 😉
Well done working out this title! 🎆
A man with his tall black hat plays the story of his life. I liked the tale of this game. Your storytelling got me dragged into the world. The dialogs were entertaining to read. The 2D characters and 3D environment contrary had an impact as one positive style. The puzzles were not that hard to crack, but it was ok for the jam. The only frustration I felt was the long walking time when I wanted to run fast. But overall I enjoyed your game! Congratulations!
The environment graphics have a nice touch. I had the feeling that the core of the story had potential since I am a big fan of wolves. 😉
But the harmony between the wolf and the environment graphics was not that fulfilled. A pixel art wolf 🐺 would have turned up the emphasis between the player and his avatar. From the level, I would have wished a bit more earth. I had the feeling I was up high in the skies and could fall down the whole time. But the avatar wolf is a more earthbound animal. I congratulate on your successful entry! Keep up the good work!
Nonono, this is not just a game. I call this a marvelous concept of game design. After slight starting problems, I got right into the fun core of this game. The UI harmonies well with the interaction in the scene. I loved the highlighting of the objects while pressing the single timelines of the objects. Such small elements have a big influence on a better UX feeling. I was able to rate your game before the voting time ended. I congratulate you on your good stats!
If I am honest, the core game idea you have is perfect for the theme. It is really cool! But I had the feeling that it was just the wrong setting or the missing puzzles. The idea of rewinding the robot has potential. I imaged the robot being in a 3D World. The robot itself would have the style of steampunk in a steampunk world of course. You could then see how slow the mechanical wheels on the robot inclusive his own movement speed would become over time, so you would feel the pressure to solve your puzzle before its too late. Too bad you didn't get that motivation to get a bit more out of your idea, but it is really great you finished your game! It is a good practice to finish something off, even though you didn't have that much fun. I wish you good motivation for your future and your devlogs!
Hilarious! Outstanding! Well done!
I enjoyed this game. This is a nice copy cat of the papers please. The graphics have the right touch. I love that rewind animation. The comments of the people give the game the correct feeling. Here are some feedback points I wanted to share:
- The pause should be skippable
- The first working session was very easy but after that, it was getting very hard, because all tapes had to be rewind too much. This was sort of the cracking point in the fun factor.
- The UI needs a bit more intuitive touch. The Drag functionality into the recorder and inside the box was the right decision and I guess the game would have gone a bit better if you would have done this on all UI interaction. Because I wanted to open the case by clicking on it and not hitting the button. And taking the tap could also be done by a drag option.
- I had problems to know if I should rewind or pick the next customer
- The comments were sometimes long and I couldn't always read them to the end before disappearing
Here are some ideas for the future if you want to continue working it:
- Respond to the people to get a better salary.
- Add more detail to the tape, so you have a better feeling of how much you have to rewind.
Hi Mastro2k, thank you for your thoughts and feedback about this game! I totally agree with the audio. Just a couple of sounds can have such a big impact on the feeling of a game. I like your ideas. Switching the background is a cool thing. If I bring that idea further, then you could also create a lighting show (like in the disco) for each level that would be in harmony with the song. Thank you for your time and good luck with your game!
Hi, thank you for your honest comment and for making your vote public! You are only honest, so there is nothing you have to be sorry about! There is one mechanic in the game (I added as Hint in the comments on my page) which would give you much more control over your player. But I failed very hard in transmitting and teaching the player how he can use this mechanic. But even with the long jump mechanic, I would agree that there would be still something missing that would make the game more fun. But nevertheless, I wish you good luck with your game!
Time is relative as Einstein said? You created a game which is matching the theme! It was really satisfying to reverse the time. You really got that good working. But I would have wished more of those reverse time puzzles then the jump and run action. The concept has good potential and I wish you a lot of luck creating more time rewinding puzzles!
There is a lot of detail in this game. I bet it took a lot of time to create all those UIs. The overview of the incoming mortality was for me important to solve the levels. You also got my respect for making everything generic. But I had trouble understanding that I could move that "robot" with wasd. I was trying to heal the people but I didn't understand "You have to enter the same room". The last level was just a bit too hard. Too many people and too many rooms. Congratulations on your submission!
