Thanks for playing our game

Thanks for playing our game

Thanks for playing our game. All of these were on our todo list during development, but sadly we ran out of time. There are instructions on how to use each movement tech on the game page.

Thanks! Yeah, definitely was drawing from some GLaDOS inspiration for the AI.

Thanks!

Ah, I didn't know you could do that

Thank you. Would you please rate it if you get the chance? I played and rated your game.

Hi, thanks for checking out our game!

Sorry to hear that you didn't understand what to do in the game. Did you read the instructions on the Itch page? I know that it would be ideal to have things like:

  • a tutorial in-game (and we did sort of have that in the way of the voice acting)
  • the specific outstanding tasks glow, and
  • the rate of new tasks to do starting out a bit slower

But we simply ran out of time.

In regards to the audio - that was made in the last 8 hours due to some coordination issues so there wasn't much time to make sure it was great. But it's not like we released this game thinking the audio was awful. In fact, the audio sounds completely fine to me, so this is a surprise. I mean, the music is garbage, I agree. I made that song like 10 years ago lol. But none of the effects sound loud or sloppy to me. I wonder if the issue is just that the overall volume is too loud by default, and if you just turned down your volume it would sound fine (apart from the music). If so, then part of the issue may be the lack of the opportunity for us to develop a menu and options and playtest more to get a feel for the default overall main volume.

I'm glad you liked the art - Olaf is really talented at making 3D assets.

Do you have a submission that we can check out? I clicked on your profile but no games show up.

Hi, thanks for trying our game.

We have no plans to develop for any platforms other than Windows. The thing is, I can't test any builds I would be making for Mac (for an example of an alternative platform) because I don't have a Mac, so I can't reasonably build for that platform. I am interested in Linux, but I have no plans for that right now.

Sorry to hear you didn't like the audio. In playtesting we didn't notice any problems with the audio. Although, it was made in the last 8 hours of the jam so there wasn't a ton of time to make and check everything. I'm a bit confused at your description of the negative experience. You say the audio is too loud but also too quiet, which seems contradictory. I'm sure something is wrong, just trying to understand what specifically is.

Thanks so much! I feel so embarrassed that it wasn't more polished. Thanks very much!

I love the art in the death messages :)

Dude the random Eldritch monster you have to feed is hilarious to me haha. And I love that it's cannon that it's literally primitives that you're feeding him. They aren't placeholder assets. The Eldrtich monster eats the concept of shapes themselves lol

Very nice game :)

The insect mob boss goes hard!

What a charming little game :) I loved the rainbow dash/launch shader!

I loved the storyline. Having everything so zany actually made the game quite interesting because it was difficult to distinguish humans from lizard people lol, but I'm pleased that I caught the lizard on my first playthrough! All of the dialogue text from the attendees switched to all-caps after the reveal so I thought at first that my second date was a lizard person, but no, just a zany person. I also have my suspicions about that host!

Okay, I'll play yours! Here's mine: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-13/rate/3349471#post-12210014

Wow, a video! Thanks for taking the time to do that :) If you thought my voice acting was funny, you actually missed the most comical voice line in the game (imo) because you were so patient! If you interrupt the android boss during the opening intro speech by interacting with any task, you will get a special voice line :)

Hey, thanks for playing our game! There were so many things we wanted to add to the game but sadly the time constraint was very tight so we didn't get around to that.

Cool, a video! What's this in the description? "Impossible controls"? What's impossible about the controls?😭 Lol. Thanks for playing our game!

I played until day 3. Reminded me of Night at the Museum.

Hi - thanks for trying! This game was developed for Windows desktop. If you are using a different operating system, that may be the cause of this issue. Unfortunately, I have no plans to develop for any platform other than Windows for the foreseeable future.

I'll be playing and rating as many games as I can! My game is here if you want :) https://reasonstudios.itch.io/be-fast-to-last

Awesome! I'm rating everyone else's too! Here's mine: https://reasonstudios.itch.io/be-fast-to-last

First of all I must say, you have an absolutely gorgeous game here. The pixel art and ambient music come together fantastically. The choice of brilliant blue stars for the background was great. Your game page looks great too!

For gameplay, it was an interesting choice. Once I got the hang of it I had fun bouncing off the walls. Having the tutorial being on that screen at the start was fantastic.

I had some trouble at the start because I thought that "walls" included the background wall and I was confused at whether I was doing it right or not (I wasn't lol). I also thought that some of the inert objects in the first room were actually the power cells, so I wasted a lot of time trying to grab them. As I progressed through the game, sometimes I would get stuck in the centre of some of those huge rooms because the air resistance slowed me down, so I was left wiggling.

It was rewarding once I got the hang of the movement though - I was zipping around and enjoying the sound effect of trying to turn on the gravity without all of the power cells plugged in. What a cute beep and wiggle!

Anyway - overall a fun game! Great job for being done in one week :)

Interesting concept! I failed the second level many times because I had a hard time getting to the rocks fast enough with the slow movement speed. I was yelling at the monk irl lol

Unfortunately the game crashed for me as soon as I tried to launch it :c So I can't rate
