I'd like to immediately point out the really cool interactive menu! It fits the game's theme very well.

As for the game itself, it's hard. There are countless times I can't figure out what I missed in the house. And by the way, thanks for the Christmas vibe. On the one hand, this is a game in which we hang poop on the Christmas tree, but on the other hand, what a New Year's atmosphere it has. Btw, the timer is implemented very cool! Shotgun moves out very goofy and funny). But honestly, your game really hits a nerve(

Theme Interpretation 5/5

500 thousand Chertocoins!? Dude, you're crazy!

  1. As for stretching the screen — yes, I noticed it myself during testing, and I don’t think it makes the game significantly easier. As great game designers used to say: “Let the player think they’ve outsmarted the game!” (I’m definitely not pretending I was just too lazy to fix it.)
  2. The restricted play area is actually a kind of "foolproofing" to prevent players from flying too far just for fun and then spending half an hour flying back. It was also meant to serve as a kind of indicator that the game had been completed. Because of course I wouldn't have had time to finish the ending.
  3. Regarding the destruction of buildings, I agree with you. As I said before, it was just a concept, which I later threw away.
  4. You're right about the last point, I have nothing to say. I'll think about how to implement it.

Your review was very informative, thank you for expressing your thoughts so clearly and to the point!

А вообще, Максим, я же русскоговорящий :)
У меня игра чертило называется)))

Thank you so much! My friend reached a thousand Chertokoins per second. There's some kind of "turning point" in this game where you start earning money really quickly. Btw, it's good you liked the screen shake, because honestly, I thought it would cause motion sickness for player.

Hi, thanks for the congratulations. You're absolutely right about the progress curve. I'm definitely not on good terms with it, as I'm not much of a game designer. Initially, it took about 10 minutes to get to the first cauldron; everything was very slow and tedious. But thankfully, I let a friend test the game and figured out what needed to be fixed. I tried to give the player an early dopamine hit, but with the systems I had already coded into my game by that point, it simply resulted in you hitting unreal numbers after just a couple minutes of play.

I don't deal with web builds in Godot. For some reason, I'm constantly having some kind of lighting problems. Everything lags, barely works, and it's total shisht. I think you understand that during the game jam I didn't have time to learn this. Rush etc. But web builds certainly do impact the number of reviews during a jam. This is definitely something to learn. And thanks so much for the compliment on the art! Because my drawing sucks. I don't even know how such a cool devil came to be....

Thank you so much, starbuff! Regarding building, I simply split the world into 32/32 cells, and there's a trick here: when you click on the junction of two cells, there's a chance the occupied cell will be selected, preventing you from building anything (I think you get the idea). Regarding the demolition of houses, I thought for a long time whether to give the player the ability to demolish old buildings without spending resources or simply expand the game territory. In the end, I started implementing the first feature, but I didn’t like it and I decided to make the second feature. Therefore, in some tooltips, there might have been mentions of demolition of houses because I'm such an Inattentive fool. Anyways, I'm glad I was able to give you the opportunity to play a game that felt complete, good luck in the next jams.

It's so unusual to realize I made an interesting game, especially since I'm a noobie dev(I'm thinking of continuing this game after the jam). Thank you for your words :)

juiced up match 3 game. Not so creative be honest, but satisfying. The perfect game for a game jam. I also can't help but mention the beautiful page on itch.io There is nothing more to say about this game.

LOL! Thank you very much for your kind words and i'm glad you liked the game)

Hey, been following you since Discord (j'm obezzzan if you remember)! Tower Defense is a classic! But I've never played a Tower Defense like this... It's amazing how obvious it is to swap the player and the villain, but I've never seen anything like it anywhere. Btw, where's that old explosion? While playing, I encountered a couple of bugs, such as time not speeding up or money not being given to me. Anyways, It's good that the desert isn't empty. There are cacti and some rocks there. In short, it's cool, it smells like old flash games)

Ах ты русский засранец!))) Suka. I saw your in dev posts about the game on discord and then I got interested. The game is fun to play because it always creates challenging situations where you have to think, for example, about whether to sell iodine at such a low price or wait until you get more? The radiation mechanics are very interesting because they also force you to consider whether to sell iodine or antibiotics or keep them. The atmosphere is cool. The Russian song in the background adds to the atmosphere.

I honestly don't understand why I couldn't take iodine one time. Maybe I was looking in the wrong place?

Great game, the theme is handled so creatively! I even laughed. Overall, it wasn't difficult, but I almost lost it on the last level. The animations are really cute. My couch is now (no joke) scratched, and guess who did it.

The movement system is very satisfying. Shooting is very satisfying, and the game is generally cool. It has its own unique vibe. But the healing sound is really funny, like he's pulling medicine out of his asshole lol. Very creative and satisfying.

Honestly, I'm not a fan of clickers, but your game is cool. In some places, the standard Godota font is used, and it's really ugly. The theme is well-developed, and it's interesting to watch the news. Keep going.

This is probably just my problem if no one else has had this. Sometimes the sound starts to crackle and cut out. It wasn't a big deal.

The inventory is like in the old Resident Evil games. I LIKE IT! I tried to feed the lady with a screwdriver and the sound scared me, I'm an idiot. I miss the sound effects when the cat starts talking. It would be cool if he spoke with voiceover, like in Mandela's catalog or something. I beat the game on the bad ending, and the final jumpscare could have been scarier. Why is there a debug tool in the game archive? It's a release version. You could have put the pck file in the exe. The game turned out to be very interesting, and the quests are also quite interesting. My cat has never asked me to cut my wrists in any other game.

The sound is a bit laggy. The music is very well chosen, and I really like the location designs. The game has its own unique style. The worm's body moves satisfactorily. It's a pretty good, unique game, I like it!

Honestly, I don't know why this is happening. It's most likely because you have Windows 10. Unfortunately, I don't have any testers with Windows 10, so I don't know if this issue is specific to your computer or Windows 10 in general.

The game is cool, I don’t know to what extent it can be called a horror.
The movements are pleasant, sometimes bugs appear when turning the camera.

The game leaves a good impression. The visuals and audio are simply stunning! But honestly, it's not scary. I played it at night with headphones, but I didn't feel even the slightest bit creepy. I also didn't quite understand how the theme of parasitism is explored. The choices are well-designed, and it's funny that you can't refuse them. It's a good game that could be developed further. Good luck to you, Godot brother!

The controls are written on my game page.
LMB to drink

WOW! This game is absolutely amazing, it's so creepy. The music was probably created by the musician banging his head on the buttons. The ending just... It scared me. When the glass started breaking, I was just surprised, but when I thought the game was already off and the music started playing, oh my god... YOU definitely know how to scare me! I don't think the game fits the parasitism theme very well, but it's still a fantastic piece of work! 5/5

AAAAH! I want to start with the problem right away: the parasites pop up way too often! I'd love to explore the house, since you've created really well-designed interactions with objects, but these parasites popping up every 10 steps are really annoying! I love making games in RPG Maker, but horror games aren't very scary on it. You've done a really good job with the design of parasites, but the audio design is sorely lacking. I must say, the plot is quite interesting! And the atmosphere of an "old" RPGMaker game is eerie. Overall, the game is quite good, but it's still obvious that this is your first project. I wish you success in game development!

Honestly, I just didn't understand what to do in the game...  I ran around the map for about 5 minutes and couldn't figure out what to do. I restarted the game, and then ran around the map again, pointlessly. Some objects don't have collision, and I can walk through them. Also, I have an ultra-wide monitor, and this is what your game looks like on it.
If you help me understand what to do, I will gladly change the rating!

It's a cool game. The sound design is simply top-notch. The visuals... Honestly, they're not my thing. I'm a fan of retro games, but in many places the seams between the cubes are literally visible, making it difficult to walk. It's a decent game, the sound is a bit unsettling, but as far as I can tell, there aren't even any monsters in it, just a growling stomach. I wish you success, Godot developer!

I really like your style. You really know how to create a scary atmosphere. You take good breaks between jump scares. The locations are beautifully designed! I wish you success! Your game will get an excellent rating! WORK HARD FEED THE ORGANISM!

You likely haven't read the in-game notes. If so, you can find a brief summary of the game's plot in the description on the itch.io page.

My game has a complex story: the player is a parasite living in the human brain. As time goes by, the brain starts to deteriorate and the world around the player suffers. You can find the game's story in the description. Thanks for your feedback! Next time, I will try to come up with a more interesting story than the one in the notes.

I really enjoy the atmosphere of this game. It can be quite intense, but it's also very interesting. To be honest, I wasn't sure about the plot at first. I didn't understand what happened after the man took out the knife, but it was still fun to play. Controlling breathing and heart rate is challenging, but it adds to the experience. I didn't know right away that I should breathe through my mouth, which made it difficult to complete the game on my first attempt. However, I appreciate the save system that allowed me to continue playing.

In the future, parasites may be radically different from those that we imagine. As part of the Pizza Doggy Game Jam, I have developed a short horror game in which you act as a hacker using the computing power of someone else's brain, like a parasite. However, something goes wrong, and the neurons in the brain begin to collapse under the influence of overload.

I made this game in a couple of days by myself. I made all the models (there aren't many of them) and the sounds myself, too. Try my game with the liminal atmosphere of old retro games now

Try my game now.
