Gameplay 5/5 - Basic but very fun! Love when it speeds up later on, a really good arcade style game!

Visuals 4/5 - Similarly basic but it makes for a very enjoyable aesthetic overall.

Audio 4/5 - Same as visuals.

Overall 5/5 - A very simple but fun game, excellent work on this one!

Theme 4/5 - Theme is used to make the gameplay concept which I love to see.

Gameplay 4.5/5 - Really nice feeling platforming for the time limit and a decent amount of mechanics with the keys and mushrooms. Jumping can feel a bit floaty though.

Visuals 5/5 - Love the pixel art style you have! Very cute although I think your project made it a bit blurry, but I know that's a simple fix so I won't judge too harsh for it. Very nice otherwise!

Audio 3/5 - No audio, cannot judge.

Overall 4/5 - Wish there was more levels to flesh out the mechanics but for what it is, I enjoyed what I played!

Theme 3/5 - Can kinda see how it fits the theme though I wish it played more into the mechanics.

Gameplay 4/5 - Very fun game of balancing all of the stats and resources! Love these types of games a lot. Only thing holding it back is a pretty big glitch where if anything even grazes the outside of the box, you instantly game over. It killed my runs early and was pretty frustrating.

Visuals 4.5/5 - Love the simplistic style and how everything moves based on physics! Could maybe be improved but the simplicity really works in its favor!

Audio 3/5 - No audio in the game, nothing to judge.

Overall 5/5 - I really do enjoy the concept aside from the glitch. Without that, this is something I wouldn't mind doing a few runs of! Great work!

Theme 4/5 - Love how the boxes fit into the aesthetic but also a bit of the gameplay with sorting how the boxes are laid out.

Gameplay 4/5 - Very interesting type of puzzle game! I do love puzzle games where you have to pay attention to story stuff and the way it's handled here is quite fun! Love all the tiny bits of writing and characterization. A few puzzles are a bit too obtuse though (Especially the team one)

Visuals 5/5 - The models and low poly style is very nice! I love the small details throughout the apartment. UI is good too.

Audio 4/5 - Very nice music through the experience. Nothing special but it's nice!

Enjoyment 4/5 - Overall a nice puzzle experience and one that I was surprised to get so much out of! Wonderful work!

Theme 2/5 - Sadly I don't see how it quite fits the theme. Still a nice concept, but not quite fitting.

Gameplay 3.5/5 - An enjoyable arcade game with the movement serving as an interesting challenge. Though, it feels like the challenge stops ramping up at a certain point, I think it could be improved with constantly having red rocks spawn on the grid. And the mechanics of the timer are a bit hard to understand. But as it stands, it's a fun enough time.

Visuals 4.5/5 - Really love the game boy aesthetic and the colors used, especially on the menu. Only small critique is that the player's outline doesn't match the palette. Otherwise, perfect look!

Audio 3.5/5 - While I do enjoy the sound effects and appreciate there being music, the music could use a bit of work. It can get somewhat grating at points. But I do appreciate the effort put into it.

Overall 4/5 - A fun arcade type game to kill some time, it stands just fine on its own.

Theme 3/5 - The box theme does fit but it doesn't really inform mechanics or anything but it does fit!

Gameplay 5/5 - Really loved the physics! It's a very unique way of moving around and made me think about the level in a whole new way. Love the progression of the level as well with different mechanics, props, and enemies to bounce you around!

Visuals 5/5 - Very pleasing monochrome style you've got, also love how everything moves with the box and physics. Simple but polished!

Audio 4/5 - Could have used some music but the sound effects are very nice for player feedback.

Overall 5/5 - Really excellent prototype I would kill to see expanded into something more. Great work here!

Theme 5/5 - Always love when the theme is used to create a mechanic and you nailed it here!

One of my favorites from this jam so far :)

Gameplay 5/5 - Really unique concept for a puzzle game and I like how they require you to think about the example patterns more than you think. A very good brain teaser!

Visuals 4/5 - Basic but very nice looking for the game of life! Only critique is UI could be more boxy and simple to fit aesthetic.

Audio 3.5/5 - None except simple sound effects but they are very nice! Though puzzle games always benefit from more feedback and some good music.

Overall 5/5 - A very great entry I enjoyed my time with! Would love to see this expanded in some way, got me thinking the whole time!

Theme 4/5 - Conway's is an interesting interpretation of life in a box, good thinking there!

(1 edit)

Gameplay 4/5 - It took me a while to get the hang of the mechanics for how to make a life but it was honestly a fun puzzle in a way. I could see something like this working well with different factory levels and figuring out more strange components. But as an arcade style game, it suffers a bit from how finicky it can be at times. Good idea though!

Visuals 5/5 - A bit biased because I love this sort of aesthetic, but the very soft pastel look to contrast the factory environment is a nice look!

Audio 4/5 - Sound effects have some charm to them but could have done with some chill music too.

Overall 4/5 - I really do like the framework here and I think with some tweaks to structure this would make an excellent puzzle game. Good work!

Theme 4/5 - As I've said before, I always enjoy more creative interpretations of the theme and this is definitely a creative concept!

Can't do my usual breakdown for something like this but this is very minimalistic but perfect in what it wants to say and do. The basic 1 bit style and simple sound scape add to the emotion and I can really relate to the message here. Excellent little art piece, minimalism can be hard to get right but you nailed it with the looping aspect.

Gameplay 4/5 - An interesting concept and decently fun to manage. It's a bit hard to keep track of, but once you get the hang of it, it becomes fun to manage how long you can keep them alive and also planning out both expansion and making sure you can eat. Very fun stuff!

Visuals 3/5 - While I do like the simplistic style and look, it could use a bit of work in how it's laid out. I think with just a simple back ground and a few seperating panels this could look much much better! Though it still works as it is now.

Audio 3/5 - Sound effects work for what they are though the game could have benefited from music.

Overall 4/5 - Once I got the hang of it, I enjoyed it a lot!

Theme 3/5 - I do wish the game used the theme for a bit more than just simple visuals but as it stands, it works perfectly fine.

Can't really do my usual breakdown with something like this, but I very much enjoyed my time with this. The moments of figuring out what the main character was and how it all tied together was very interesting and the prose was very well written! I also love the twist on Schrodinger's cat you did here. Excellent work!

Gameplay 4/5 - No real flaws with the game, it's a very fun game of taking orders in time for the customers and getting a high score! I do agree with others that I wish the cash had some purpose to add a real loop, but still it stands on its own.

Visuals 5/5 - A very nice low poly style! I'm always a sucker for these so nice work on it!

Audio 4/5 - Very nice sound scape, nothing too special but it works! Could have benefited from music though.

Overall 4/5 -  A very fun concept that I would love to see expanded, the idea of a food truck simulator is something I'm surprised I haven't seen before but you've shown the potential!

Theme 4/5 - I always enjoy creative interpretations for the theme and a food truck is certainly a creative way to take it.

Gameplay 3.5/5 - A very good concept dragged down by some flaws. While I love the idea of a puzzle game where you have to consider your previous moves and solutions as things get more and more complex, it's very hard to make sense of in its current state. The ability to just plant all of one ruins the challenge while giving only being able to plant one of each would have been much better. But the concept and potential is still something I love.

Visuals 5/5 - The game is very aesthetically pleasing, love how the environments and models all look! Nothing to say but it just works great!

Audio 4/5 - Very calming atmosphere with the music and sounds. Once again, not much to elaborate on.

Overall 4/5 - Overall, this is a game I would love to see polished up and pushed to the limit, this is a really really fun concept that I did enjoy my time with despite a few shortcomings.

Theme 3/5 - Doesn't really use the theme too much in terms of gameplay, but the theme works fine here. Nothing super special but nothing bad either.

Forgot to comment my rating during the jam but this is a game that surprised me with how good the mechanics are!

Gameplay 4.5/5 - Very nice level design that works well with the concept! The controls work really well for the more slow nature of the game, though a power meter would have improved the feel a bit.

Concept 5/5 - I love games that play around with time so you had me hooked the second we got into the multiple frogs. The levels play around with the concept so well and it's so fun to plan the movements and figure out how they can move around each other.

Presentation 4/5 - The presentation really grew on me. It's a bit rough but very nice looking in the end! The little touches in sound design really helps sell this and the music is really calming and nice.

Use of Limitation 5/5 -The limitation works well to make the concept work as you have to plan your time carefully and always keep frogs moving to make it over in time.

Overall, one of my favorite games from the jam! Apologies for not commenting on that fact, I have just been aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Gameplay 3.5/5 - Very nice concept I could see being expanded, I love the idea o the box limiting the space of your farm and having to manage space and layout. But currently, it's very easy to cheese and doesn't have much strategy.

Visuals 3.5/5 - Pretty good, very basic but they work what's needed and have some charm to them. Menus need some work though.

Audio 2/5 - As you said yourself, it has none so yeah.

Enjoyment 3.5/5 - It shows a lot of potential and it was an interesting playthrough but it has those bugs and things holding it back. Would love to play a more polished version though.

Theme 5/5 - As I said before, one of my favorite aspects is how the box requires you to manage space so good work there on the concept!

Gameplay 3.5/5 - Very fun platforming controls, but the main loop gets a bit stale after a while. More ramping difficulty would have gone a long way in making surviving for a long time a real challenge.

Visuals 4/5 - Very basic but the little touches with particle effects and the character squishing as they jump add a lot of charm.

Audio 4/5 - Nice audio design with sound effects and especially in the small touches of the music speeding up.

Overall 4/5 - I enjoyed my time with the game and I think it is a solid base for a game.

Theme 3.5/5 - The theme is here although it didn't really incorporate into the gameplay much. Still works though!

(1 edit)

Gameplay 5/5 - A really interesting game concept that makes for interesting platforming challenges. I do wish there was more challenge to how it was used but for three hours? Excellent stuff!

Visuals 4/5 - Very nice sprite work! The larger blocks could use a bit more detial in them however.

Audio 4/5 - Sound effects are very nice and enjoyable. Could definitely benefit from music though.

Overall 5/5 - For something made in 3 hours, this is a really promising tech demo. I do wish it was a bit longer to stand on its own, but I still enjoyed what there was.

Theme 4/5 - Basis for a really strong theme and good visuals. Nice work!

Gameplay 5/5 - Really really strong concept! I love the feeling flipping over has to movement, very fun movement system and I love how it keeps getting played with by introducing new mechanics!

Visuals 4/5 - Overall very strong, everything meshes together nicely with the colors. Only complaint is that the main character maybe could have been tweaked to mesh with the palette more.

Audio 5/5 - Simple yet perfect! The main track is very good and doesn't get grating or old as you play. And the audio feedback with moving your box really helps the gameplay feel better.

Overall 5/5 - Really wonderful level design + Fun tight controls = A really great time. Would love to see this gameplay expanded more!

Theme 4/5 - Works well with the theming in terms of gameplay! Nothing mind blowingly creative but good!

Thank you for the honest feedback! I would have added indicators if I had more time to test, but alas that is the story with jam games.

Also yes. Run cat.

The theme tie in was the idea of Shrodinger's Cat working by being in a box, but I know I could have made that more clear.

Thank you for the honest feedback though!

Enjoyment 3.5/5 - Although I love the concept, the execution is a bit messy with how random it can be for what flies appear and what fish appear in regards to your list. A bit too much RNG in my opinion and could have been remedied with just more of each on screen at once. But it's still fun enough to do the basics of fishing and gathering bait.

Concept 5/5 - I love the idea of needing to get special bait in order to catch certain types of fish, I could see something like this easily making for a full game. And also I'm a sucker for fishing games, what can I say?

Presentation 4.5/5 - Love the art and character designs for this, very cute stuff and the game overall has nice relaxing vibes. Only thing I can say is I wish there was a bit more music throughout even if it was subtle.

Use of Limitation 4/5 - Day system works very nice for the game loop and fits the them, so points here!

Overall, a nice relaxing experience I would love with a few tweaks made to it. But still great as it is!

Enjoyment 3.75/5 - Level design is very nice and well designed and I like the main gameplay, but as others have said, it's very easy due to how you can move lily pads. More design could have been useful to make puzzles better.

Concept 4/5 - I do enjoy the main idea of moving lily pads to guide them and being able to move them as well as rotate, but it could use a few constraints to get more puzzle solving out of it. But it's a very promising base.

Presentation 5/5 - Game looks and sounds lovely! It makes for a very calming experience especially with that main theme and the soft sprite work.

Use of Limitation 3/5 - Timer works to fit the limitation although it doesn't really add much to any of the puzzles. Not detrimental to the game though.

Overall, a fine base to make something bigger with. I would be happy to see this become a full game with a few tweaks.

Enjoyment 3.5/5 - Decent enough to moving around to collect flies but still nothing too special. Snakes are fun though with their movement.

Concept 3/5 - Very basic arcade style idea without too much to spice it up. Could have used an extra mechanic or two for it to really stand out.

Presentation 4/5 - Decently nice pixel art! Very polished menus and overall very nice looking.

Use of Limitation 1/5 - As you said yourself, it was going to be added but can't judge what isn't implemented.

Overall, a decent start for a game though missing the limitation and needing a bit more design.

Enjoyment 4/5 - Nice arcade style fun, what more can I say? Could do with a bit more to it, but that might ruin the simplicity.

Concept 4/5 - A very simple concept that works very well! Feels like something straight off the old Game and Watch.

Presentation 5/5 - Absolutely nails that 1-bit look with the sounds and graphics, love the vibes this has going.

Use of Limitation 4/5 - Adds a lot to the simple arcade feel as you rush back and forth to gain more time with only seconds to spare.

Overall, a very simple but very very nice game!

Enjoyment 4/5 - It's surprising to me how fun just planning out the routes can be for this game. It's very simple but very fun to navigate the mazes.

Concept 4/5 - An interesting idea for a game, admitedly I wish there was a bit more to the mazes in execution but as it is now, it stands fine as an idea.

Presentation 4/5 - Not the kind of presentation to blow you away, but everyhting in this game looks quite nice and all of the little details with the light and how the music begins to fade until you return to the light makes it extra nice.

Use of Limitation 4/5 - The limitation works quite nicely for this game, adding another layer to navigating the maze as you have to decide when to dive deeper or go back before you get lost. It works very well.

Overall, a nice little experience for what it is!

Enjoyment 4.5/5 - An absolute blast to go through! Controls are perfect and snappy, very difficult but rewarding to learn and master. The level design is also really great, possibly a bit too punishing later on, but the ways new mechanics keep being introduced is great.

Concept 5/5 - Very interesting idea for gameplay and I had no idea you could even do something like this with RPG Maker of all things. Incredible work on the programming side of this! Also love the concept for the story and everything.

Presentation 4.5/5 - Excellent art for the intro and everything, love the style! And surprisingly good use of the RPG Maker assets to make something nice looking!

Use of Limitation 3.5/5 - The time limit is a nice addition, it adds that feeling of truly having to master the levels that I love from my games. Though, it could have played into the game a bit more.

Overall, I really really enjoyed my time with this one! Excellent work here!

Enjoyment 3.75/5 - This is a hard one to judge here because I really love this when it works but it just has a few flaws to drag it down in terms of movement and tongue feeling sluggish at times and the hitboxes at some points being unforgiving. But otherwise, the level design is really well done in the end and running through the game once I got the hang of it was fun!

Concept 4/5 - A simple isometric 3D game but the mechanic of the grapple really makes it stand out and allows for great level design! Really good stuff with that!

Presentation 5/5 - Love the look of this game, models all look really nice low poly and the shading and designs really help sell that look. Also love the music based on Gourmet Race!

Use of Limitation 5/5 - I love speedrunning games and this takes full advantage of that with the leaderboard and individual level times. Really makes the player wanna get better and master the game!

Overall, despite a few initial flaws, this is something really special here! Great work!

Enjoyment 4/5 - Some of the writing definitely could have been more subtle or revised a little bit but other than that, the small different mysteries throughout were fun to follow! Some good creepy vibes too.

Concept 4/5 - Certainly an interesting hook for a larger game, of course the same flaws I said with enjoyment, but there's a lot of potential I see here going forward! Hope to see that!

Presentation 3/5 - Could have used some work on some sprites like the main character and house environments, but otherwise it holds up decently enough.

Use of Limitation 4/5 - Works well enough for the story especially in the ending, but due to just the structure of the game, at times the limitation didn't really land for me.

Overall, an interesting narrative demo I'm excited to see more of!

Enjoyment 3.5/5 - A decently fun time with a few flaws, mostly that the tongue is a bit hard to control and sometimes the jumping can a bit too unforgiving with timing. But the multitasking nature of the game is quite fun with a few tune ups and more elements to work around.

Concept 4/5 - I love the idea of having to deal with both a frogger like obstacle dodging but also keep gathering flies to survive. It's a very fun twist on both. Could be a little better with maybe a few more unique obstacles though.

Presentation 4.5/5 - Excellent sprite work and I love the isometric look you have going for the game! Only critique is music could be a tad bit improved.

Use of Limitation 4/5 - Works wonderfully with the idea of the play space and your life being limited to work with the multitasking nature!

Overall, a surprisingly fun game I'm sad to see buried as an only download. But great work!

Enjoyment 4/5 - A really interesting experience! A bit different than what I expected going in, but the different minigames with my froggo pet were fun to do! Some were a bit more jank but it added to the charm in a way.

Concept 5/5 - I was expecting something very simple from this, but the process of raising my frog threw me for some loops! The puzzle around figuring out how to raise them properly was very fun to figure out. A really well thought out experience!

Presentation 4/5 - Some minigames aren't as good as others but overall the game looks very cute and nice!

Use of Limitation 4/5 - The limited time to do stuff with my froggo led to a very immersive experience and got me more attached to all of it.

Overall, a cute fun time that managed to do more than I expected!

Enjoyment 3/5 - While it is a spooky experience, the game could have used some more big moments. Just a chance for the frog to actually be a threat or chase the player or something. Right now it feels a tad bit empty.

Concept 4/5 - Honestly, a horror game is rare to see and the concept of an animal testing facility is one with a lot of potential. Not to mention a frog for the main enemy could lead for some scary stuff.

Presentation 3/5 - The facility feels a bit empty most of the time but the areas that do have decoration are very very nice. The UI could also use a little work and like carnalmantrap said, extra sounds would have been nice.

Use of Limitation 4/5 - The idea of needing to escape quickly is a very good way to implement the limitation into a horror game. But I do think it could have been done better as I took my sweet time and still made it out fine.

Overall, a concept with lots of potential but a bit lacking in its current state.

Enjoyment 4/5 - Really solid puzzle design if you're trying to go for all the flies. Had me stumped a few times though I wish it went a bit further with difficulty.

Concept 4/5 - A tried and true kind of puzzle game but with a new spin on it! Really like the car mechanic even if I wished it was a bit more used.

Presentation 4/5 - Really love the low poly style especially with the colors and shading. Combine that with some excellent music and everything is such a chill and relaxing experience. If this game has anything, it's good vibes.

Use of Limitation 4/5 - Simple counter but it works well to make you think about the paths through levels and make for an extra challenge. A good base mechanic for the game.

Overall, a wonderful little puzzle game that was the nice relaxing time I wanted out of it.

Enjoyment + Concept 4/5 - Although there's no gameplay, the idea behind the story is really wonderful. I'll discuss it more in a sec, but really nice visual novel type thing. Only thing I can knock it for is that looking is bugged for me as I keep turning right. Otherwise, it does what it needs to for the message.

Presentation 5/5 - Simple and somewhat rough, but perfectly fitting for the game. I love the charm in the UI and old frog plus the lake and the rest of the world being unfinished was such a neat detail to notice.

Use of Limitation 5/5 - Man. I never would have expected this twist on "limited time", but this game called me out hard with the message. I mean it when I say that this game's moral is beautiful and important and the way it's presented is perfect.

Overall, a nice visual novel that has some really touching and important things to say. Nice work!

Enjoyment 4/5 - A strange category for me since I'll be honest and say I was livid playing this game but I still found it enjoyable after the fact?? Some areas definitely need some tweaking to not be totally unfair (Mostly Mushroom Peak that has this issue) but other wise, it's one of those infuriating but fair games... Or maybe I'm a masochist.

Concept 5/5 - I love Arson so much. The concept of using only your tongue to get through environments is a very fun one and the explanation you have for it is hilarious. Love every bit of it.

Presentation 3.5/5 - While I do really love some of the environments and I adore the cutscenes, it is held back by some style clash in areas. It's nothing too extreme but it makes the game a whole lot less cohesive and nice looking.

Use of Limitation 4/5 - Although it made me furious to find out, I have to give you props for adding to the rage game feel with possibly struggling through the whole time only to find out you need to do it again. It's a fun incentive to replay.

Overall, a well made game even if I blew a fuse playing it. Well done!

Enjoyment 5/5 - Really fun stuff! The card battles all manage to at least keep me thinking and it allows for some fun builds as you go through.

Concept 5/5 - I love me a good card game and even if it's simple, it's still a wonderfully designed system that's easy to understand but allows for great strategy!

Presentation 4.5/5 - You guys knocked it out of the park with the card illustrations, I love all of these silly little frogs so much! Only real place to improve is the backgrounds and maybe card borders. But otherwise perfect.

Use of Limitation 3.5/5 - A bit basic but with some good potential in the time stealers and time frogs. I could see more cards effecting the time limit to add an extra layer of strategy. But sadly it doesn't get too much focus. But the game stands fine without the limitation.

Overall, one of the best games in the jam so far! Wonderful work here.

Enjoyment 4/5 - A decently fun puzzle game! Had lots of fun trying to figure out those angles and how to get through that last level!

Concept+Execution 4/5 - Once again, a good idea for a puzzle game. Although, I feel the points system is a bit hard to understand and not too well communicated, but that's the only flaw I see.

Presentation 5/5 - Fantastic sprite work in every way, really wonderful DS feeling to all of it. Everything is drawn well and music is also really nice, along with sounds.

Use of Limitations 2/5 - Sadly though, it doesn't really play with time in a way that landed for me. Doesn't mean bad game, just not the best at fitting the jam.

Overall though, I really enjoyed this one, especially in the presentation and feel!

Enjoyment 4/5 - Really enjoyed this! Jumping feels really fun and the timer adds a really intense feeling to every level. Some of the later levels get a bit frustrating though.

Concept+Execution 4/5 - A simple idea but well executed! The different types of platforms add a lot to the game and the boat mechanic is quite interesting!

Presentation 4/5 - I really like the graphics you have here! Gives me memories of those older DS games. Really the only thing holding it back is a lack of music that leaves it feeling a bit empty.

Use of Limitation 5/5 - The game builds itself perfectly around the timer and it makes most of the levels feel like a fun dash through the levels where you just barely make it.

Overall, a game I really enjoyed even if the later levels weren't as strong.

Enjoyment 5/5 - Really solid shooting, keeps it simple and fun with no flaws. Not much to say that I don't say elsewhere.

Concept+Execution 4/5 - Very fun concept for a shooter that makes for some fun moments, keeps it simple but that isn't a bad thing at all. Maybe could have benefited from an extra enemy type as its somewhat easy to find the perfect shooting strategy(at least till the rotation) but it still works great in the current state.

Presentation 4/5 - Just like the rest of the game, simple but polished to a shine. Sprites look good enough and the extra touches with shadows and such. Music could perhaps be better but it's serviceable for the game.

Use of Limitation 5/5 - Absolutely wonderful from how its presented to how it works. Not only does it create great game feel, it also makes for a dynamic experience of dodging and having less and less room to do so if you don't make a come back.

Overall, a simplistic experience but one that works really well for what it is. Wonderful work here, one of the best games so far!

Enjoyment 4/5 - Very nice gameplay loop! Fishing is very fun, especially trying to nail the harder ones like the shark! Everything you want in a fishing game.

Concept 5/5 - Genius concept. A fishing game where you date what you pull up? I would love to see that expanded further.

Presentation/Execution 4/5 - I feel as though the concept could have been expanded just a bit more to really stick, maybe just a short dialogue with each date would have really sold it. But the actual fishing easily makes up for it.

Use of Limitation 3/5 - Limitation doesn't really tie into the game much, but it works fine and doesn't hold back the game.
