its fun to see the designs people come up with, im a sucker for a good incremental game though and you killed it there

oh wow! That is a great catch and a complete oversight on my part! Makes total sense! Interestingly, that's the only platform that triggers the turrets in the entire game - i should've looked back at that and made it toggle a barrier like I do in later puzzles. I love when people catch this kind of thing you really only encounter with enough numbers of people testing :)
Hey thanks for the detailed feedback! I think its a very difficult line to walk between what needs to be explained vs figured out through problem solving! Perhaps i leaned too hard on the hand holding! Lessons learned for the next jam ;)
I'd love if you were willing to take the time and recreate the softlock and share a screenshot cause im scratching my head at figuring out how! I've seen a lot of crazy stuff in friends playtesting but haven't seen that! :P
I'm a little confused on the meaning of this rule:
You can use premade assets or assets you have the rights to use, but don't pre-make assets for the jam.
I have a previously abandonded personal project that has sprites for a character (idle/run in the cardinal directions) Is it safe to use those for this jam? They weren't created previously with the express purpose of using for this jam, just repurposing them.
Thanks!
Hey, thanks for the feedback! I originally was going to explain it as a requirement to keep equilibrium -> Your kingdom gets too perfect? An abundance of food, wealth, and culture? Well, maybe the snakes think it's time for a hostile takeover... There was also going to be a "warning" system where you can end one day in the 90+ score, but a second day would end the run, but I found it unnecessary with how variable the loyalty score ends up over the course of a day.
Hey, I honestly completely agree! There was originally scoped a concept for more ways to shake up the gameplay, (high impact events, random events at the start of a day that will change your scores, etc.) but I sadly over scoped for what I was capable of. I agree, and my primary concern is that "this isn't fun" to me, it seems monotonous and boring, and that you can likely largely click any of the options without much thought, and still probably perform relatively well. There definitely needed/needs to be an effort taken to look at the balance of the game on a macro scale, because individually, events are balanced, unique and interesting, but it all mashes up into a bit of a slog
