Man I'm sad that I missed this entry while the rating period was going, fantastic game!!!! I love the artstyle so much, my one complaint was that the movement felt clunky but then my new best bud Simon added a sprint button for me :D

Lot of potential here! Was pretty confusing before reading the description, and then I better understood it and could navigate the game better. It's a fun concept that I could see turning into a pretty engaging game with more time than the game jam allows, given more polish and balancing. Overall good work!
Really clever concept with a lot of neat difficult spikes and features along the way, fantastic concept for a game! Admittedly, even though the CRT overlay added a lot to the vibe, it made it difficult for me to read the e-mails, maybe if there was a way to tweak that? But I'm super impressed by this game and had a blast playing it!
Fun concept, and I liked how much there was to explore! If I had some advice, it would be that sprites were blurry while others were crisp, that could be for a number of reasons but I know that when I've faced that issue, changing the Texture Filtering from Linear to Nearest has solved it for me. Great work on making a fun entry!
What the heck!! This was made in one week??? I love it! The art-style is fantastic and I would expect to see it in a professionally polished game. The gameplay is really fun too and I like the monkey court system a lot. There's just so much charm!
I don't know if this is just how it shows up on my browser, but I thought I'd mention that the embedded Unity fullscreen button fights with the itch.io fullscreen button, and that made it a bit confusing to actually fullscreen the game lol.
Fantastic work!
This was such a good idea for the theme! I love the way the mansion builds itself, and the game itself is super intuitive. You built the menus out well and it all felt responsive in a way that made it fun to click from area to area and read up on testimonies and look for clues.
A minor thing to mention, every now and then some testimonies would be rather repetitive (for example, a lady in the yellow room saying that she moved to the yellow room and then later, moved to the yellow room). Other than that it felt really well put together!
Very relatable story, I liked the world you created! There's definitely potential here and it would be cool to see it developed further into a full game!
For improvement, I think the movement animations could use some fine-tuning (for example, walking left or right looks awkward because the character's torso is completely still. Having his torso move as well will help it feel more alive!) as well as some font errors that caused characters to not load correctly.
Overall though, great job!
Thank you so much! And I think that confusion you had is the biggest thing I wish I had changed before the game jam ended haha, the idea was that each character has the chance to be telling the truth or lying, and their dialogue will change depending on which is which, and it'll be based around incorrect facts in their dialogue or contradictions in their words to figure it out. Unfortunately I needed a better tutorial explaining that part :p I appreciate your comment!
Hi there, here's my game, I'm still looking to get to 20 ratings :p https://moonbreadgames.itch.io/pawn-scum I look forward to playing your game!
Lol funny concept for a game, it's fun to solve and I like that there's a shop afterwards to get upgrades from! I like how much there is to the gameplay loop! It's intuitive and I understood what to do right off the bat without much struggle.
For future improvements, the music reset every time a button was pressed, which was a bit disorienting for me. It also seemed like a pretty short loop so maybe something longer?
Good job on making a fun and functional game in the short timeframe!
This was so much fun!! I love prop hunt-style games, and the more recent anomaly detection genre, and this was a genuinely fun take on the genre! Having your character start out in a small section of the house, and then the space you're given to work in expanding as you play was a clever way to ease players into the game and helped me not feel overwhelmed. My only criticisms would be that the camera gets a little jittery when walking diagonally, and using the camera didn't feel entirely intuitive to me, maybe there could be some revamping there. Overall great job!
