Thanks for the information! :)

Yes, I imagine it wouldn't depend ONLY on the number of ratings, but I'm curious if that plays a role at all, or just rounds the "score" more accurately. I'm new to this :)

Hi everyone! This is my first ever game jam and I'm curious how the rating system works. Does the number of ratings matter for the final results or does the average score of the ratings matter more. I'm assuming it's a combination of both and that the more ratings u have the more accurate your "score" will be. Anyone can explain to me how things work ? Thanks a lot!

Here is mine if y'all have time to check it out: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-13/rate/3346764

Any feedback would be appreciated, thanks!

I've rated yours, If you have time for mine I would appreciate any feedback:

Cool platformer, I enjoyed my time playing it, really impressive for a fifth grader!

Interesting game, I like all the small details that you've integrated! Maybe it was just me but the game lagged my browser a bit, maybe it was better if it was downloadable instead of played in browser, but other than that really cool entry!

I liked the concept, really cool! If you made it so the UI is also in the pixelart style as the overall game/background, would have made things look more cozy! Regardless, overall really nice game!

Rated your game before, idk if you checked mine but here it is: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-13/rate/3346764

Really interesting concept and well executed! Great entry!

The idea is super nice and unique! The visuals are amazing and the audio matches the entire vibe! I would have liked if you needed a bit less clicks to complete an action but other than that really great job!

I really enjoyed the game, it was really polished! I became really powerful and could beat anyone that tried to challenge me and I enjoyed every moment of it! After a while it lacks some content but considering it's a game for a jam it is really well done! Great job guys!

Pretty cool game! I liked the visuals a lot. If the rooms are procedurally generated, great job on that! I would have liked if the weapon had a "fire rate" so they player could not spam at really high speeds, but other than that really cool entry!

The concept is really cool, but man, the visuals are absolutely amazing! Really enjoyable game, great entry!

Very cool game! I like the visuals, the transitions and I like the "balancing" mechanic a lot! For me it might be a little too hard to keep the balance and also focus on getting through the level ( the later levels ), but overall really great experience! Great job!

Hope you like it!

Cute game! It is really polished, the game runs smooth, simple mechanics, pretty much nothing wrong :D ! It might just be a little too hard to avoid the projectiles if the enemy airplane shoots it when it's close to you ( you either destroy the projectile and then can't avoid the plane, or you just can't avoid the projectile ) ... but that might just be a skill issue from me. Nice game regardless!

Rated! I remember playing your game but somehow forgot to rate it :)

Interesting concept, cool visuals, fun playing with the physics!

Hey, I'm glad you liked it!

1. Yes, I made the talking sounds by myself ( one of them is actually my girlfriend's voice :D ), and I pitched them up so they sound squeaky

2. There are 3 endings:

a) one where you shoot the flare gun ( that you have to find exploring ) and the next day you basically won because people came to rescue. ( "You escaped" ending )

b) you go insane when you lose all your sanity, everything changes color and the next day (after you sleep) you basically go crazy in the woods ( It's the "gone crazy" ending ) .

c) you die of health and when you return from the activity where you lost your health,  you start walking really slow until  you can't move at all and eventually die (it takes like 5 seconds to lose all your movement speed) and you have the "You died" ending.

Cute game! It reminds me of the good old days of miniclip and y8! I think maybe the gameplay is too easy but other than that pretty fun!

The game looks amazing! Some of the puzzles are really challenging and the puzzle mechanic is so unique! I would say that overall the game is really really cool, but I don't really see how it fits the theme. Regardless, great job!

Cool game buddy! You've implemented a lot of stuff that others didn't even think about, which is always nice to see! There is one thing I need to mention: The camera that follows the player has an interesting implementation but in this case specifically is a bit harsh on the player because I cannot see in the direction I want to explore in. What I mean is that, for example, if there are enemies under me and they are shooting me, I cannot see them as I'm approaching them because the camera stays behind the player instead of following the player, and so the game becomes more difficult. But overall really cool game, keep up the good work!
