Hi everyone! This is my first ever game jam and I'm curious how the rating system works. Does the number of ratings matter for the final results or does the average score of the ratings matter more. I'm assuming it's a combination of both and that the more ratings u have the more accurate your "score" will be. Anyone can explain to me how things work ? Thanks a lot!

I don't know how it all works, but it would be a bit unfair if everything depended only on the number of ratings.

Yes, I imagine it wouldn't depend ONLY on the number of ratings, but I'm curious if that plays a role at all, or just rounds the "score" more accurately. I'm new to this :)

In general, as far as I know, in some jams there is a jury in addition to the players, and the game can take some place according to the players and some according to the jury. But this is only in some jams, in this one there is most likely no jury

“Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.” this was under my rating from my 2024.2 jam but my raw and weighted scores were the same with only 23 ratings so idk if it’s effecting much maybe if you get under 20 it lowers it
