Day 3 right here!

(1 edit)

Here is my first entry! Well okay first & second. One's a dragon & the other's a neat city I'm hoping to develop!

The layout of this feels great. I like the encounter tables, & the end boss sounds like he'd be really fun to run.

I think my favorite part of this though is the "People & what they know" section. A great way to convey a concise amount of both character & information, & totally something I'm gonna steal for future projects.

Wacky, weird, & more than a little silly (but like in a good way). Moonbase Madness is a fun adventure if you're looking for something a bit more lighthearted.

This is a really great set of 5 mini-missions! Just enough content to have a good structure to place these into an ongoing game without having to change everything to suit your version of a Paranormal Cold War.

Definitely something I'll look into using when I try & get my friends into this game!

Oh damn this is rad as hell

If regular FIST is A-Team + SCP (or Control), then this is Fast & Furious + Ghost Rider (I mean I've never watched a F&F movie, so this assessment is based just on Vibes attained via cultural osmosis). Or like... you know that scene in Batman & Robin where Robin & Batgirl do a weird neon drag race through Gotham? Yeah that's kind of what this brought to mind, but with the undead. & it's DOPE.

This is definitely going on my list of games to make my friends play at some point. It paints such a great picture of a world of dead racers & what that means for people.

Thank you!! I drew on some SCP stuff (which was a touchstone for Control, of course) for this. I've described the game as A-Team in the SCP-verse

My original plan was to do a "brochure" (it'd still be in a zine format) for like, an Evil and/or Haunted Circus, w/ enemy stats & traits
But all of the sudden I got the idea of a pamphlet of like "So, You Fell Into The Anomalous Void..."  or something, w/ Lore & Traits. Like the vibe of something you'd find in Fallout, or some of the tapes from Control, the FMV stuff.

Or maybe respect the host & follow the rules?

I made a Blades playbook once, so maybe something Forged in the Dark or PbtA.  I need to look through the games I have, see what jumps out at me (work & holidays keep eating up my time).
The idea of making a playbook not tied to a specific game sounds interesting, too.

Oh wow thank you so much!

Gosh it's always so cool to see people engaging with stuff I made! Thanks for commenting!

But yeah, with the CRO/CYCLOPS/Directorate stuff, the Directorate is a branch of the CIA (I can't remember if I put that anywhere but my notes), & while reading the FIST rules I sort of got the impression that CYCLOPS was also attached to the government somehow, or at least that it could be. But yeah, totally vague & flexible enough for anyone to fit it into their games however they want!

Yeah, I really wanted to get more into it but I knew if I did any more in-depth research (with something as real & recent as the Cold War, I wouldn't wanna screw anything up) I'd fall down a rabbit hole & wouldn't be able to get it done in time for the Jam. Especially with having a full-time job.

But I'm really glad to hear that people like what I did write!!!

That. Sounds. Rad.

I mean, not like... for real but in terms of narrative.

Oh wow thank you so much!!

Don't think I have the energy to do something for the jam, but if anyone's looking for something to adapt, go ahead & check out my new (& first!) game Empty Table! Fantasy adventuring as knights of the Round Table post Arthur's fall. They're playtest rules, & nowhere close to finished, but more has been done with less I'm sure :p

yessssssssssss

I'm glad you're liking the table! & I'm glad it gave you such a RAD result!!

I thought about changing names, but then that seemed a bit like stealing? But if that's like A Thing other folks have done, I'll try it w/ Gambler v2!
& I see what you mean about "Like Looking Into A Mirror", I'll look things over again & see if anything fits better or maybe try to make a new ability!
Thank you for the feedback!!

Oh, sure! I'm glad it seems interesting enough to warrant feedback in the first place, really! :p

Oh, that's not good. I think I know what I did & how to fix it??
Thank you for letting me know!
