Hi sebasapk, I'm a uni music student interested in making music for games. I don't have a whole lot of experience in game jams but I'd love to be a part of your team if you're still looking! Fun game. I love the filter when you pass into the mirror dimension, definitely added to the game.

I would play a game based on this soundtrack alone. I love the chiptune style, starting off strong from the beginning. Actually awesome.

Intro was immersing and it just kept getting better from there. It sounds very boss fight too. The dissonances after about a minute fit really well with the Halloween theme, so nice work.

This sounds like a great arrangement (I'm also not familiar with Castlevania's soundtrack) and great job performing. I think playing strings especially is a great skill since MIDI strings are always really hard to get sounding real from my experience.

From a mixing point of view, I think if you automated the volume of the violin vs piano at some sections where one or the other could take the foreground, that would stop it from overlapping a bit. Either that or you could pan them slightly off centre, one left one right.

Overall, cool track, good job. The arrangement is really cool.

Nice track. I think the sparsity overall and weak beat might reflect confusion you could want to convey. I feel like adding more content to this, even an  ambient drone drifting in and out could help glue it together if you wanted to go for that as well.

Loved the "It's alive" near the beginning, it really brings out meaning for the track. If you brought that back more later, I think that would sound real cool. Maybe distort it a bit too. Good track though, keep it up.

Aye awesome. I think this is the first time I've composed with the melody in the horn and honestly really happy with the result. Glad you enjoyed it :)

The chaotic energy you were going for. I think the rhythmic crow cawing was an amazing addition, and the movement the way you panned it was cool. I think if you automated it, that could create a sense of the crow flying around. The electronic tone colour works really nicely with the theme and the percussion is so detailed. It contributes to the chaos of a boss fight really well.

Love it when you have that contrasting section with the crows and drum roll. It's a nice way to break up the piece . If you added some more contrasting material might make this a bit more interesting over time, especially with the context of video game music. But I think this is really cool overall, nice work.

I think the chiptune vibe worked really well. The fact that you thought through the use of this in an actual game, I think is awesome. Having music that follows your gameplay rather than the other way around is so awesome. It fits the boss fight theme perfectly I think. Nice work.

Woah, that transition from that harpsichord melody to the main piece was so cool. It almost sounds 'dancing skeleton' like. I think the composition aspect is awesome. I like how the sounds aren't exclusively all instruments, especially the laughing sounds and the synthy theremin thing. The progression through sections flows really nicely.

I think, personally it could fit the 'boss fight' theme a little better, but I love the music. Especially that but at 1:08 with the laughing, it sounds like an amazing intro to a halloween movie. A bit Nightmare before Christmas. Good work mate, sounds good.

Wow, I had to look up Super Metroid Nofair to be honest, but it looks sick. I love the drama and sparsity of the soundtrack, especially that vocal line, it's awesome. I've never really thought of going for that SNES style, but definitely excited to lean into that style for this or something else later. I'll check out that plugin, thanks! 

Yess, I'm so glad someone mentioned the heartbeat haha. I love your metaphors for what each sound might mean. I never thought of it like that but I almost wish I did, that would've been awesome. You're dead on for what I was aiming for in the outro though. Thanks for listening!

Omg I should've added a timpani, you're right. That would've sounded so much more dramatic. And yea, can't do a spooky track without some good ol' dissonance. Thanks for your comment :)

Huh, I never thought of it with an SNES sound library. You may be onto something. I think the MIDI I used is pretty shocking, and that more electronic tone would probably work well for a halloween track. Thanks for the ideas!

Aye, that's great. I actually love the amount of detail you put into this, it's interesting to see what you hear from it. And yeah I agree, after I submitted, I realised it gives me more Phantom of the Opera vibes rather than Boss Fight. Ramping up the percussion sounds like a cool idea to play with. I might come back to this after the jam, we'll see. Thanks!
