good stuff, especially for a first time! lots of nice spooky ideas and riffs in there, i think all it needs is a little more melodic cohesion to make the sections flow into each other (unless the intent was to have discontinuities in the sound to add to the spookiness). great job! :))
Nice track. I think the sparsity overall and weak beat might reflect confusion you could want to convey. I feel like adding more content to this, even an ambient drone drifting in and out could help glue it together if you wanted to go for that as well.
Loved the "It's alive" near the beginning, it really brings out meaning for the track. If you brought that back more later, I think that would sound real cool. Maybe distort it a bit too. Good track though, keep it up.
Cool! Just curious: was this improvised live? I’m not familiar with BandLab.
I liked the chromatic motif at 0:57. This added to the “boss fight” tension. I’m interested in hearing this developed furthur (perhaps walking bass lines, maybe more hi-hat)
The creative use of samples and moving from one instrumental motif to the next makes it feel like a story. To me, the story you’re trying to tell in the music sounds like Frankenstein is waking up for the first time and when he meets the player, he starts dancing in a goofy way and the boss fight ensues in a silly way such as some fights are in games like Banjo-Kazooie. Good work and thank you for sharing!
Good entry for first timers! A bit too chaotic for my taste, but there where some pretty neat ideas in there. Looking forward to hearing more of you in the future!
That was pretty weird and experimental, but that makes sense for jazz ^^
If you guys are first-timers, this is a pretty good start! It sounds chaotic but it does kind of hold together with the drums. It sounds like you're also playing with samples with the scream and the voice? It seems like there was effort put into this.
Keep playing around with the app and play around with different melodies. I don't use Bandlab but I have a friend who uses it who was able to make some really complex lo-fi hip hop tracks, so I know it's a versatile app. Keep playing around with it and you guys can only get better and better ^^
This makes me imagine Frankenstein’s monster coming to life and everyone is scared but then he just starts grooving. The melody wanders around a lot, but it’s a fun listen! Good job!
This song is really wacky! Honestly the name is very fitting. I don't think I am getting very strong boss battle vibes from it, but it definitely does have a super chaotic sound to it.
I think one thing that might help this song is giving it a bit more of a coherent structure. I like the chaos you are adding into it, but I think at points it gets a bit confusing and I'm not entirely sure what's going on. In particular, I would think about the rhythm as well as how the notes fit in with the rest of the section.
I'm nowhere near a professional, but I hope that these ideas help.
Keep it up, I hope to see yall in future jams!
