Methodology
Since the whole jam was based on a video game boss fight I tried implementing loads of sections that can just be looped to sync up with phases changes as well as boss health if this were used in an actual game.
Decided to use Dies Irae as a motif in this to help connect to themes of death and all that spooky stuff Halloween is known for.

Aside from being very catchy, this would definitely work as boss fight music!
That whole middle section that switches between Db and C and finally resolves at 1:44 is the kind of tense cadence I want to experience in a boss fight!
I think the chiptune vibe worked really well. The fact that you thought through the use of this in an actual game, I think is awesome. Having music that follows your gameplay rather than the other way around is so awesome. It fits the boss fight theme perfectly I think. Nice work.
Love the tight drums, especially the little embellishments. Also the short stops you have in there sometimes. The tone and feel took me right in, it's clear from the beginning where you were going with this, but it was never predictable or boring, always something going on. You were in total control of what you were doing, great job!
Gosh, your composition has such a nice groove to it. It’s too bad there isn’t a rating criteria for production value, because I would give you a 5 out of 5 for that! My favorite part is at 1:16 when the bass takes over and you start layering everything on until we are in the thick of the fight and the main melody comes back in to get my heart pumping again. This is a really fun song! Great work and thank you for sharing!
Oh wow this is so good, I love the beat and just the overall melody and chiptune/synthy sounds you used in this! The “dark night of the soul” section was probably my favorite, but I enjoyed the whole thing. I can imagine the implementation too, based on what you described, seems like it’d be a very fun boss fight. Great work!

I love how playful this is! This is constantly jumping all around and it gives it a really chaotic vibe, similar to what I was going for in my piece but with a whole different twist. One thing I especially appreciate in this song is the dramatic crescendos all over instruments, especially in the middle, it gives me the sense that the notes are running right at me!
This is really well done and fits the theme super well, keep it up.
