The German translation is finished. It's no AI slop, it's a proper recreation of the Original script in the LA DX HD environment. And it has some special features. Check it out, should be only a matter of time, until its in Bigheads Fork!

I'm still just at the start of the script translation (300 of 1169 lines compared, fixed and inserted), but I think I can handle the asset patch generation, if not I will surely get in contact if I can't get it created.
Is this the only place to talk about the translation/your patch pack, or should I just open an issue at your GitHub?
Since itch seems to be unstable (or straight down) in the last few weeks quite often...

Should be better than a machine translation, but I will also fix some translation errors (flute instead of Ocarina), sentence breaks and fix old versions of the new German spelling.
I don't know, how much time I'll find in the coming weeks, but I will send a pull request, if you are okay with that Bighead? Found your repo a few days ago and decided a German script is missing, went searching and found this dead thread. ;)

The € sign and everything in/with the android version seems to work great. There's still one thing I would love to see improved, dunno if that's possible or you want to improve it at all: control scheme settings. Right now, it shows button 1, 2 etc., you know? But it would really be great, if you could select one in the menu and it would be shown instead, like:

XBOX (LT LB X Y A B RB RT START BACK) 

Playstation (L2 L1 × ○ △  □  R1 R2 START SELECT)

Nintendo (ZL L Y X B S R ZR + -) 

If you know what I mean and it would not mean to much work. 

Also I noticed, if you press START, it shows in the Pause screen how deep you are (in feet), it seems that is missing from the translation? Same with the $ in the result screen, this is still the $ instead of the € sign.

I've finally played some rounds and updated my translation. 
The dollar still seems to stay the dollar, even when I provide an alternative Euro sign, but other than that I didn't found anything remarkable or wrong.

Yeah, most of these are "enhanced" versions of the normal item get text. I have to decide, what I do with them, probably also add a ultra widescreen translation version (because that's what I am testing with) or something like that.

But right now, I have a problem with my controller detection.
I am using an "old" Microsoft Xbox One Elite Wireless Controller (Series 1), with its wireless adapter and/or with cable (if the batteries are empty or when I feel so), it is registered with windows without problems, but in the newest beta, there's no way to make it work. In the last version I had success, when connecting via USB while in the controller button screen, but now it seems there's no way to make it work.
Did you change anything on controller detection?

That's the reason I have not been able to test yet (and lotsa work ^^).

I think you have an old version of the translation, the "you feel bouncy" one has already been fixed, also a lot of the "to long to fit" ones.
I always updated the translation in the package, the last update was a week ago, you probably have downloaded it before.
I'll check the new ones and tell you, when I updated the package again.

Yesterday, while playing it on my retroid, I found another thing, that you could probably file unter improvement (dunno, whether this is the best place to report, but since we're here already, I use the chance, you can probably just rename the topic later to German translation + suggestions and create a new Howto thread ;))
- when you enter the controller configuration with the action key, it takes the input 9 out of 10 times for the first button press for jumping. And if you didn't know that and set the action button on the same button as jumping, you can never enter the button configuration again (thats what happened for me, had to completely erase the data of the game), so probably a little time, until the first input is registered and also let me enter the main menu with my touchscreen aswell (since I also couldn't use the touch screen settings, because it was deactivated and I had to use the action button to reactivate, the best fix would be to just press right or left, to enable/disable the overlay).
Or scratch that, wouldn't it be easier, if we just need to press right to enter/change any of these menu items? You could always change everything without the action button and if you enter the controller button settings, it waits until you press the Start button, to set the buttons? Btw: what about the ESC button on a controller? Since I can't set it to the controller, I also can't skip the button presses.

I also found another sprite, that would be great to be translatable: the sNew.png, sNewButton.png and sNewButtonPressed.png. But with the latter 2 I don't know, where they are used. If they are for the editor, they should probably just getting axed, like the editor strings.

Regarding the contributor list: only (nick)name and mail, that's enough I guess.
I would also suggest, to add your name, not just to the end credits, but also the intro room at the bottom. I would also love to see a SpelunkyClassicHD Logo, since it would show everyone that this is an enhanced port (and all the sites, stealing your html5 version and hosting it with ads, would make a little ad for this version then aswell)

Take your time, nothing important needs to be fixed, I can use the fix2 for a long time!

Okay, thanks for all the answers.
I've edited the HELP and DOLLAR SIGN, and put them into the images folder, would love them to be loaded aswell (I'm not a big pixel artist, but they look fine so far).

I translated every line (also the editor ones) and made multiple adjustments (like the aligments you just told me about, hope they are all fine now) and finished the game once (with cheats) on Windows, everything looks fine so far.
I could do some more adjustments, when I could beta test on my retroid, so I would love to see a fix2 with the adjustments and my translation.

I also included an updated locales_tr.json and locales.json. I have not done a pull request yet, since this is more a beta test of some kind. ;)
It seems, I can't add a file to this post, so I'll just upload it to my hidrive instead, here you can download it.

Btw: you should be in the credits (HD port by) and probably the translators with contact informations (if wanted) aswell.
If you need some input, tests or help, just tell me.

Hey there.
Like promised I created a German Translation of the game.

Since I really was disappointed with the Official German translation of the Spelunky Remake project, I created something faithful, but also enhanced and funny. Right now, I am in the beta test and probably need some arrangements before I'll release it.

But there are still some questions:
- since we do have the images folder and can replace textures in game, is it possible to replace the $ HUD component and the "HELP" of the maid/spelunker?
- Why do we have sometimes multiple instances of the same translation, like the money/kills etc., wouldn't it be easier, if one instance is enough?
- Shall I create a pull request for the translation or upload all corresponding files here?
- the python script only created the charset.png, not the charset_small.png, is it needed, shall I created it with gimp instead?
- why do we have a second language selection in the main menu?
- some of the script seems to be from the editor, which is not available in this version (afaik), so it could probably also be removed or do you plan on readd the editor in the future?


Probably some more stuff/questions will arise until release, I will ask them here, if that's okay.

Dunno if it's a fix specific problem, since it was not like that in the HTML5 version, but I usually don't have a GUI, until I press start, then I can see the hearts, bombs etc + the touch interface. After that, I just have to deactivate the touch interface and the GUI stays like that.

Are you interested in a German translation? I already translated  multiple games, I could probably also provide a German translation to give also something back.

Finally got some time to download and try them, the fix1 worked without problems right after the installation. Crazy. Really great. Should I try fix2? And what for bugs should I look for?

The HTML5 build works flawless. 

I tried every build on github, none seem to run, always a black screen without error code. 

I could connect with ADB, had done this before and could do it if it would help you. 

Tried the Android Release with my Retroid Pocket 5, since the older builds couldn't be installed because of the Android Version. Now it finally installs, but sadly won't start. Is there anything I could help you, so that it could be fixed?
