the fact we cant just block a user and never see them in any way, shape, or form ever again is mind-boggling. there are so many tags i follow that are infested with slop (stuff i dont like like (derogatory) ) and having to just suck it up and deal with it is so annoying. if i dislike or even hate a creator i feel that its perfectly reasonable to have a no bells and whistles solution to the problem of seeing them with a few clicks. it would vastly improve the feel of the site ten fold.
i know filters exist for stuff like 'no ai' but isnt that just embarrassing that we even need to have a tag for that man. this is a site for creating things and we let freeloaders just generate and post their junk without consequence. but thats a whole other thing so ill bite my tongue.
ive never run in to trolls that stalk your account and harass you on these boards but from what ive read regarding the blocking issue it seems to still be very much a problem as well. improving blocking genuinely needs to be like a top-tier priority above everything else that isnt just maintaining the site itself. what do yall think.
Individual users should be able to block all mentions of another user and/or their content, if they so choose. As is, blocking a user does not do this, which I really do not understand since it seems antithetical to what blocking does on almost every other platform. Current functionality is more of a mute button than anything else, which does not suffice when directly compared to how websites like Tumblr and Twitter implemented this feature. I sincerely cannot understate how essential it is for blocking to be improved.
For instance, as a trans woman I see no reason why I should not be able to block any transphobic/fetishistic content I see fit. It only makes my experience better, with no downside as it is a client-side feature. As it stands, all I can do is ignore it, and if you have ever been in the 'Transgender' tag at all, you know how difficult that is haha.
Please sound off with your thoughts, I would love to hear them. Thank you for your time. :)
