WE'RE HOGGIN WITH THIS ONE 🔥🔥🔥

I immediately tossed the watering can off screen lol. nice idea!

Fair point. I was thinking of having other abilities later on that may also use the X button, but I'm not sure yet...

This 100% speaks to my biases in the best way possible. I used the Momodora games and Cave Story as a reference point for the style and gameplay of my own project, but I didn't exactly accomplish the level of overall polish I wanted in the allotted timeframe. This however feels super polished and great to play! I personally loved every second, and I can't wait to see more updates from this project!

fun game, had some great music and the overall design was nice! I couldn't find the double jump ability (after fighting the boss) so I stopped after I clipped into the ground after dashing. Nice job!

Very interesting idea, would love to see it expanded upon!

I love the enemy AI and the overall design. It got a bit repetitive, but the music was pretty fire too. The parts with the spikes that insta-kill are kind of annoying, and I think the later half of the game is a lot more exciting. Overall a fun game!

Nice game! loved the overall design, as well as the music and sound effects. The enemies felt a bit repetitive and annoying at times, since the best strategy seemed to be spamming attack and holding your ground, and a working map would've been nice, but it's a nice experience.

I don't know why but I thought the sound effects were really funny

I love the game and it's aesthetics, the art's great and the atmosphere is on point. I love the ambience and sound design a lot! The tail pulling and lunging abilities are a bit broken though... with the tail you can often clip through walls, and with the lunging you can fly forever. breaking the game a bit was fun in of itself, but it was disorienting at times. also, I couldn't figure out how to trigger the end of game sequence after collecting all of the little guys. Great game though!

Fantastic game you've got here, especially considering it was all done in a month! the design feels a bit wonky, but that's part of the charm. some music would be nice, and the popups when you unlock something could be fixed in various ways, but none of that's game breaking so that's okay. the only time the game broke was when i entered "the kingdom" from the wrong side on my first playthrough with the sword, fought the boss, and then soft locked myself as i didn't have the double jump. Otherwise, it was a fantastic little arcade experience!

The game's nice. it's simple and to the point, but its fun! I will say that i fell out of the map in the top left corner. just a heads up.

As far as metroidvanias are concerned, this is fantastic. while some of the art (notably the player) looks a bit strange, it looks very polished. Great job!

fun game. the transition when you die is a bit goofy, and i wish there were more sounds, but its good.

i dont really get the combat sometimes but it was satisfying

the transitions are a bit clunky and the level design could use some work.

I really like the idea, I really do, but i think that in the end, the gameplay is just not for me.

the submission wont open. the required files likely aren't contained in the exe. (said that UnityPlayer.ddl was not found)

don't understand how it's a metroidvania, but i love the aethestics. would love to see this as a full-fledged experience.

so what am I supposed to do? the level design is too big given the players very limited scope of view, and while it wasn't a bad idea given the destinations were apparent, the timer only added a layer of stress to the overall experience. The location was interesting but i think it could use some work.

Thanks for the feedback! I don't plan on making any drastic changes yet, as there's a good chance I'll gut and rework the entire thing, but for now I'll look into adding lighting on the spikes, messing with the darkness of the, well, darkness, and maybe removing a few bats. Thanks for playing!
