A fun game.

A soundtrack or some sound effects wouldn't have hurt. A better set of the hit-boxes maybe too ^^ but it's ok.

Okay, nice idea. The graphics are a bit... meh XD
The soundtrack isn't exactly great, but in the end this game does what it's supposed to do: keep you entertained for a while. ^^

Simple but by no means ordinary, with a touch of originality that’s often missing in platformers. GG.

I completely agree.

It’s a real shame that the gameplay has these minor flaws, because it promises to be a really fun game.

That's almost exactly the feeling I wanted to give! Thanks for playing.

Simply zoom the camera in closer on the character, limiting the view of everything around them, letting the character be the center of the action.

A good example is games like Prince of Persia (the first two installments, 1989–1994)

Even a slight change or a small addition to the gameplay would make it a truly interesting game.

Great game. I've been looking for a good Doodle Jump-style game for ages.

Too bad the leaderboard isn't working, and my record of almost 800 jumps wasn't saved XD

Simple but very well-crafted game design.

I really appreciate the precision of the hit boxes and the obstacles that can be overcome by figuring out their patterns, and they’re not frustrating at all.

I’ll be playing this often :)

Thank you so much for the feedback.

I’ll do my best to make Citizen Idle even more engaging and feature-rich, given the positive response it’s been getting from clicker game fans.

The sounds are really funny.
II agree that the movements are a bit slowly, but I think it's a good starting point, if developed further.

This is one of the best game I found in this jam.
This is a jam's gem.
Lovely.

The graphics are stunning, and the sound effects are spot-on.

I would have preferred it not to be a timed game, perhaps by balancing the obstacles and opponents instead, but overall, it’s a great game.

I 100% agree

I love how unusual this gameplay is.
Great job!

Yes, there is an issue with the Guild Merchants and a bug with the Upgrade 9.
I'm fixing the bugs and I'll release a new version when the voting time of the jam will end.

Thankyou for playing, stay tuned ;)

Funny.
After reaching the top, I jumped off and fell off the edge, and it was funny to see the character running endlessly through the white cosmic void.

I could watch that all night.

The game is fun enough.
You should have added a zoom feature (it’s one of the options when you publish a browsable game); or better yet, I would have brought the main character and the traps/obstacles more into the foreground, giving the player a better view of the immediate surroundings without losing any field of view :D

Nice idea, anyway.

Thankyou for playing :)

Ty for the clarification ^^

First: fix the bug.
Second: improve the game ^^

Ty vm

Thankyou!
I'll add something more in the future ^^

A cookie clicker? Uh... it could be my next project ^^ ty for playing

I didn't have time to add the progress bar: it's actually on a hidden layer, but I'll make it visible in the next update.

Thanks for playing ^^

Thank you so much for the feedback.
The final version will include a menu for adjusting the volume (or mute buttons directly in the game interface).

Does the text “Villagers” always extend beyond the label, or does it only do so after a certain point?

Good for us you joined.
One of the best games in this jam. GG

It works well on gdgames. Great and it fits perfectly the theme :)

I like the 3D, I don't like jumping games... but this one is fun ^^

Interesting shooting mechanic.

click, click, flap, flap, splotch!
This is my ordinary journey in this kind of games XD
Nice soundtrack ^^

(1 edit)

Thanks a million for the feedback.

Initially, I had considered a similar solution: letting the player know right away everything they could purchase. However, since this is an idle game without rebirth that has a definitive goal (essentially a “finale”), I opted for a different design choice, and the various parts of the game unlock at specific influence thresholds to give the player an experience slightly different from most incremental games.
I don’t know if it’s a good choice, as is always the case when you try to propose something different in a well-established genre, but I wanted to give it a shot anyway ^^

Blublublublublublubb (Ok, ok, I'm going...) XD
No prob. I like very much this concept.

This kind of graphic design bring me back to my adolescence.
Nice ^^

Very interesting gameplay.
Puzzles are not my piece of cake, but graphic, sounds and concept are very wonderful.

Very fun.

<3

Funny.. but too much challenge for me :D

Curious... I like it.
No wonder: I'm a jellyfish :D

Nice idea.

I’ve made an incremental clicker/idle game myself, and I have to say I never get tired of this kind of game. Great work: the low-bit graphics and the catchy tune took me on a nostalgic trip back to my old GameBoy.
