Thank you for the comment! I get soundfonts at Musical Artifacts, although the one I used for this isn't the greatest. Not sure if it was the composer compressing the samples or the ripping process, but this soundfont has a lot of unpleasant staticy noise that I had to try my best to EQ out.

This very reminiscent of the new style of pokémon battle music, good stuff. The melody has a upbeat, hopeful sound, which I kind of associate with the newer style. It makes the track very optimistic, which feels quite nice when listening. I think what I don't like is that all the synths are all super rich and full, it makes them all compete for attention. What I would do is pan the synths of similar frequency range opposite to each other, such as the two that play at 00:27. I'd also EQ spots such as the high end on the bass when other synths are present so the bass can play a primary support role during those sections. The lead at 00:14 I'd also EQ. I'd slightly reduce the high-mid area where the twinkly synth is playing so they each have their own space in the mix. But this is really cool so keep it up!

Kind of reminds me of the moon theme from the Ducktales game. I think with some tweaks this would actually make a nice battle theme, such as if you moved the gentler intro to the middle before building the intensity up again. I think the synth at the beginning is a bit abrasive, I'd EQ out some of the high frequencies, that'd help a lot. The drumkit was really neat, it was doing a lot of cool things, especially towards the end with all the changes in groove. Groove changes always make a for a good Pokémon track. Nice job!

I think this has potential, it could make for a very unique battle theme with some touches. The opening run starts off quite fast but after a second slows down to a more digestible pace. I think you should use that latter pace for the intro and outro. Maybe you could also use that synth from the intro as a bass for the middle section to support the spooky pads you have. It could establish a more defined beat, the pads make the downbeats a little obscure, which wouldn't be a problem with a bass driving the music. Drums here would also be a nice addition. But I think it's cool to have a battle theme based off a specific Pokémon type, keep writing!

It's cool to see you learned a lot from this exercise, you did really well from someone new to this style! What's immediately distracting me for however is the popping sound that occurs sometimes after a note ends, that's a common occurrence with certain synthesizers, if you give the notes a microscopic amount of release in the vst's envelope it should fix that issue. The rhythm and phrygian sound of battle themes were both well adapted. I especially liked when the bass rose by a semitone over the course of the main melody, it added a lot of intensity! For the section at 1:33, the line by itself is good in creating variety in the sound so it's not all fast-paced, but maybe one extra voice there sustaining a note would help it sound not as completely empty. But overall this is great!

This has good blend of old and new sounds. The melody is quite lovely, bittersweet in a way in it's playful yet soft/reserved sound. I like the interaction between the guitar and the flute. For the triangle wave, I'm not a fan of the way it pops every time a note ends, some release on your vst's envelope should fix that. Maybe what could bring this track to the next level is some gentle percussion like a shaker, sleigh bell or castanet. This piece for some reason evokes a Mediterranean feel to me, so those might be the best choice, and it might be a good idea to lean into that. Nice job!

A combination of New Bark and Twinleaf town, very clever. This has a lovely peacefulness to it that all stater towns have. The playfulness is also there in good measure with the nice piano staccatos. I will say I think the velocity on the staccato piano stabs are I little too high, it makes them more intense than I feel they should be. The volume is fine, but timbre-wise they're just too harsh. The chords and progression are very beautiful, it reminds me of Cianwood City. There's a lot more going on in the project than you initially hear too! It shows good restraint and consideration for balance, nicely done!

There's some cool counterpoint in here, as well as some call and response that's really nice. These characteristics really fit with the rby style you were going for. It makes for a cool town or route theme!

The idea behind this is really cool! Not many people go for title screen music, but you did it really well! The style here is really on point, very accurate to how real games do it. My favorite part was the percussion, they were doing some crazy stuff that made the piece really intense and epic. I feel the melody could've been brought out more though, it's kind of lost in the background with the other instruments and could be more prominent in the mix. I also enjoyed the nice piano line at the end that brought down the energy for the song's conclusion. Well done!

The piano is nice choice for an icy aesthetic, very clever. There were a lot of good choices made here, like the reflective, quieter part that brings the piano back. The key change was also really cool, the track was really effective at building intensity and had a good sense of tension and release. What the track could improve on is the balance, I feel the drums (especially the snare and hi-hat) were too loud and took attention away from the melody instead of supporting it. I also think the guitar at the beginning was too muddy mix-wise. It might've been how distorted it was, but i think some EQ or panning would help it not to clash with the bass. Great job! 

This is cool battle theme! It has a nice beat and syncopation like a pokémon battle theme should. I also enjoy how the rhythm slowed down at 1:36 like the originals usually do. Also for the 2026 version, the funk breakdown at 2:08 was insane, that genuinely caught me off guard. I think my only criticism is for both tracks the snare is a smidge too loud. The drums do some nice stuff throughout both tracks to keep things fresh though, nice work!

It's impressive how you were able to use just 3 melodic voices to give an identifiable beat all without drums. The chords and melody used here are also very pokémon, it's a nice adaptation of the style. The section at 00:48 is great, the way the bass and top lead join together to make the syncopation add intensity to the song and make an effectively distinct B section. It'd be cool to hear this with the traditional Gameboy sounds, but I'd be lying if I said the default musescore sounds aren't charming.

Very effective at that reflective style you were going for, very nice! I think what the track needs it maybe another instrument taking the melody at some point to break the piece up into identifiable parts. The melody here is great, but as of now everything in the piece sort of blends together. I think just adding a different instrument for one of the sections or possibly adding some chill drums towards the middle would go a long way here. The tempo slowing down at the end was a nice touch, I was a fan. It further adds to the feeling of quiet that these type of tracks excel in. Well done!

This is really good! The strings and pad together at the intro are a great duo. The lead at 52 second mark is also a soothing choice, it's a nice melody that really evokes Sinnoh with its smooth jazz feel. I also like how at that part the lead trades off the melody with the strings to keep things interesting. I don't know if this is just me though, but the track as whole sounds really quiet, I'd suggest bumping up the master volume by a hair. Good job!

That's a cool idea to write a theme for an area that didn't get one in gsc. The mix here is really well balanced, and I appreciate that the lead here doesn't grind at the ears; it's nice and subdued while still being the focal point of the track. The chord progression here is also really beautiful. There's good tension and release with a nice B section that's a little more upbeat that effectively gives the route theme its drive to make you wanna march onward. Great job!

I'm a big fan of this, fits right at home for a GBA-inspired track. The Roland sounds are a nice touch, I'm pretty sure that's even the same trumpet that rse and frlg sampled, just higher quality obviously (not 100% sure off the top of my head, but that's absolutely the Mother 3 trumpet). The syncopated melody at the beginning evokes Ever Grande City to me, which is a nice touch because of it's proximity to victory road. I also really enjoy the hopeful nature of this piece, kind of a juxtaposition to the rse victory road. I think my only critique is the instruments playing the melody could be brought out more in the mix. It's not as offensive when the trumpet's playing because it's higher range makes it easier to distinguish, but when the horn has the lead it gets a little lost in the background. Awesome stuff, keep up the great work!

The rhythm definitely screams pokemon, it gives the track that iconic energy. However, I don't think doubling the bass a two octaves is a good idea, especially since it's an abrasive square wave, I'd breaking up the bass into a running line kind of how you did with the B section. That would also give that intro less empty space, especially since there's no percussion during that part. Overall I'd give more focus to the melody and less and the chords, they kind of have a similar thing going on so they blend together, maybe the melody could hold some notes out longer rather than short staccatos each time. Also I didn't really hear the Phrygian sound, to me this sounds d minor, I didn't hear any Eb, that would be a cool note to add in the melody somewhere before hitting the main tonic chord again. But this has potential, keep writing!

Very soothing, and I'm a big fan of the brass lead, gives the piece a smooth jazz flavor. I think the first section does a good job of standing out from the original Lake, but I feel the B section is a little too similar, with the metric modulation and the chords stabbing on very similar beats, I'd like to have heard something a little different than what the Lake Verity theme does. It'd have also been cool to here a different instrument take the lead at some point while the brass places during the empty spaces in the melody. I really liked when the strings would sustain a chord at the end of the phrases and build up before dropping off, while it was also in the original, it still was a cool effect nonetheless. I think it's not far from really reaching it's potential, good job!

I like this a lot, it's very convincing as an actual song in the soundtrack with the lack of reverb. My big issue with the song is that the hi-hat (or shaker?) doesn't sound like it's in tempo, it sounds like it wants to be swing but doesn't reach it. It makes the drums sound unintentionally awkward in a way, not a total dealbreaker but it is distracting. I did like the upbeat B section where the groove changes, at this part it be nice to have a different instrument take the main melody while the sax accompanies in the background (maybe strings or an organ). With some changes this can go from great to REALLY great.

This track is fun and chill, I like it. My first instinct is that when the bass comes in its very sudden and takes me by surprise, I'd maybe introduce it a little softer and gradually raise the volume over the span of a measure or two. The arpeggios at 00:35 are nice too but they clash with the melody during that section and makes it to where I can't really hear the melody that well, so I'd recommend panning the two opposite each other so they each have they're own space. The steel pans were great too, they gave the whole track this peaceful sensation, nice job!

This is awesome, very Omega Ruby (my favorite pokemon game). The style here is so on point. I will say the bongos as well as the shaker and guiro during the clarinet section are a bit loud, so I'd turn them down a little so they're not in the foreground as much. The vibraphone has a good stab and grabs your attention definitely, but I think mix-wise it was a little TOO much. The battle section was really cool as well, the bass is nice and has a good warm sound as well as a nice beat. It would have been cool to get some harmonization on the trumpet (probably just doubling the melody by a fourth or fifth down like pokemon games usually do). However, the violin did make a good counter melody, so that helps fill the space more (the piano was also awesome!). During the violin solo towards the end of the loop, I'd have decreased the velocity on the fast triplets and made them slightly increase in velocity as they reach the staccato note, that way the triplets sound less abrasive throughout the whole measure and gradually build in intensity. Good work, this was a nice listen!

The chords here are superb, they way there's all these modulations and key changes as the track goes on. I really enjoy the hectic rhythm (especially fitting for a harbor), but I don't know how I feel about the random changes in tempo (the hesitations), maybe something like slowing the rhythm or harmonic rhythm for a B section while keeping the tempo would've been more effective? Additionally, I feel the piece is lacking a prominent melody for the chords to support, a woodwind instrument or accordion would've been a great choice here! My final comment is I think the snare stick click is bit too loud, I'd turn the volume down a little on it. Other than that this is really cool!

I like your melody/chords and bass separately, but I don't think they work together well. The melody/chords is give of uplifting and energetic, and the bass is foreboding is dark. I would pick one of these emotions and rework the part that doesn't conform to it to really create a more distinguished track. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this made in BeepBox? I'm not sure how dynamics work in that DAW but I would make the melody and chords more prominent in the mix than the bass and drums are, they kind of take over. But this is quite enjoyable, I'd like to hear a revision if you're up to it.

Reminds me of Death Mountain from the original Legend of Zelda. The dissonances kind of work here, but I think they need some tweaking to make them feel more intentional. Maybe when you have two dissonant notes playing at the same time you could move them together by the same distance so the interval is always the same like in death mountain. Pokémon is no stranger to foreboding music like this. I think the track needs a better sense of rhythm. It doesn't sound like it's being played in time. Something good to drive the rhythm would be adding a percussion sound twice a beat on every eighth note (maybe a ride cymbal) to make the track sound faster without actually making it faster. Overall the biggest change I would make would be to unify your sound choices. There's a blend of square waves, power kit drums, and soundfont flutes and drums that in my opinion don't blend together well. I'd pick one of these groups and double down on it to have an identifiable style. I saw your other post about making another song, please do! I'm open to listen to it for more feedback if you'd like!

The chords are really beautiful in this, it's also cool how you labeled the chords in the video. The first 14 seconds would make a good loopable intro when talking to the opponent before the battle starts, as in making in a separate track in a hypothetical ost. My main issue is as a battle theme, the tempo is just not upbeat enough, I think somewhere in the 160-180bpm range would be more suitable for this track. The omission of drums is interesting, but I understand it because this is taking after a gameboy soundtrack that didn't really use drums. While they would help create an atmosphere of high energy, I think the track wouldn't need them if the bass had a faster rhythm, like pulsing every eighth note like in Red/Blue/Yellow battle themes rather than just holding out the note. This is really good, keep it up!

There's a lot to like here. The beautifully simple and quiet town theme, just like a hometown song should be. Maybe a little too similar to Littleroot, but that might just be because I know it so well. I definitely hear the Cynthia influence in the 2nd part. It portrays that classical vibe well. I think the battle theme is my favorite, it has a good form with the opening riff and the chords and the beginning segueing into the melody. I also liked the bit of stillness in the action after the melody plays before going loud again. The transition between parts 2 and 3 are pretty sweet, I think the transition from parts 1 and 2 is little drastic and could be smoother, it's a bit of a whiplash. The instrumentation and balance were good as well, although I think the drums were lacking in power, I would've gone for drums that had more umph in them if that makes sense. Overall this is really cool, good job!

I think there is a good idea here, it just needs to reach it's potential. For starters, the rhythm should be quantized with the vertical lines on your note grid to give the track more clarity. Adding drums here would be really beneficial here as well. Also, I don't know how familiar with BandLab you are, but if it gives you any trouble there are a lot of great free alternatives such as BeepBox or MuseScore (The latter is a bit of a learning curve if you're not familiar with instrumental music but it's very intuitive). I think a concise rhythm and drums would make this track pretty sweet!

I was bouncing my head the whole time, this has a nice sense of groove. The syncopation is so fun. I listened to the song you said it was inspired by, I definitely see the resemblance, but you did a good job of making it sound distinct enough to stand on its own via instrumentation and form. I think my only complaint is audio balance, during the B section, what sounds like a kick drum comes in on the weak beats, I think it sounds too muddy with bass and chords. It also sounds a little crunchy, I'd personally prefer a cleaner kick that doesn't have the small crackling in the sound. I also think the melody could be more prominent in the mix, the bass is a little overpowering. All in all though, this is a very enjoyable track!

Kind of a melting pot of different generations, nice! It has nice energy, although I don't think the energy really hits until 18 seconds in (excluding the opening 2 second riff). My favorite section is at 00:58, it has a cool sense of peril with the emerald strings and the timpani. I kind of wish the whole track used pokémon sounds, when I'm listening to the overdriven guitar lead it just kinda distracts me and makes me think of earthbound or undertale instead. Might be an unpopular opinion but nonetheless it was still implemented well into the track. The tempo changes were cool too, very gen 5. With minor tweaks this would make a really cool battle track in a new pokémon game (maybe wind and waves who knows).

Very charming stuff, I totally hear the frlg style with the chiptune and the compressed steel drum. My main thing is the chords; I also hear some saw waves playing on downbeats, they seem to clash. I would pan them opposite to each other or EQ them so they occupy different frequency ranges, otherwise they kind of take attention away from the melody. I also really liked the playful sound of the steel drum, I would've liked to hear it be featured more, maybe at the climax of the piece it could double on the melody with the lead synth. Good job!
