I can absolutely understand that frustration when supporting multiple devs through subscriptions, which is why I didn't want to dive into the Patreon subscription model. I would like to sell the beta versions directly on itch, but with how the statistics for itch traffic looks like now compared to before this summer, it just doesn't make sense. I feel like I have to go the Patreon route with Neuro/Splice.
It should be allowed, but yet it is not. Have you read Paypal's TOS? You need explicit permission from Paypal prior to setting up your Patreon. Payoneer outright does not allow adult content at all.
There are lots of adult content creators on Patreon, and most of them are breaking Paypal's rules and everyone is breaking Payoneers rules. We see evidence of Paypal waking up and cracking down on adult content creators, regardless of the content.
Creators (5+ years of using Patreon) have had their Paypal terminated for selling adult content on Patreon: https://x.com/Miilkywayz/status/1960607816475140277?t=0KAD2ONGOqdf4RzgMjmucA&s=1...
It seems that using Paypal is the issue, rather than the platform.
EDIT: Patreon supports Paypal and Payoneer for content creators, but neither support adult content:
Payoneer allowed content explicitly bans adult video games:
https://checkoutdocs.payoneer.com/docs/checkout-prohibited-and-restricted-busine...
Paypal also doesn't allow it. So essentially, using Patreon and accepting payments for adult content is currently against the TOS of both payment systems.
This now seems to extend to e-books too, not just video games:

If itch.io was on our side, then they would give clear directions to everyone on the site how to fight this. I.e. which petitions to sign, who to contact, how to get our voices heard. Did we get that? No. We got a spineless response that they're "cleaning up shop" (i.e. throwing the baby out with the bathwater).
So is itch the good guys? Are they on our side? No. We got a single emoji announcement from them on discord. Well I've got one for you too, itch.
A ton of games have been properly banned as well, without any notice to the developers before they were gone. Shadowban has affects ALL games, but they seems to be targeting mind-control / corruption / non-con and incest tags, at least. Possibly many more.
All my games are shadowbanned for now, but with the absolutely disgusting censorship that's going on, my kinky games will likely be banned entirely in the near future. My games include BDSM and some non-con elements. Make sure you ban all kinky books while you're at it...

Hi! Thanks for asking. I'm very bad at using social media, but I do have the following other channels: Discord server: https://discord.gg/zyP8qgsDzk , Bluesky account: https://bsky.app/profile/flimsylegs.bsky.social and a patreon account with only free tier and irregular updates: https://www.patreon.com/FlimsyLegs . In addition to this, I'm also on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/search/?developer=FlimsyLegs and https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561199698504118/ .
Thanks! I wrote a small python script for dumping most of the passages into Renpy "labels", but there was a bit messing about with variables and some story parts that my conversion script didn't handle. Plus there was a bunch of re-writing things to be more "renpy-like", i.e. removing part like "Don says" in favor of simply displaying the characters name.
Translating it to spanish again is going to be a whole process though... can't re-use the old translations due to so many changes :D
Hi! You are correct - The Renpy version currently only has the first two chapters (Sequence 0 and 1). (SE v0.2.0 is available here in itch for people who bought the original, and SE v0.1.0 is a free demo with Sequence 0).
I will be slowly updating the next chapters into Renpy format as well. Beta-testing and bug-reporting is appreciated for the chapters I have already converted!
Which operating system are you using?
This error suggests that the html is launch from a location that is not the unzipped location of the game. (the html will look for a relative path for the images, so launching from any other place will cause loading errors).
Version 0.4.0 with Chapter 5 is now release, and a standalone application package exists. If you are using Windows or Mac, you can use these standalone packages with a built-in browser that runs the game, so that you don't have to rely on your own browser. Let me know if this fixes your issue.
Hi. I just checked on my own Chrome installation: It is working as intended. Very strange that your firefox installation also doesn't work. I would check the following:
1. You're launching the HTML by double-clicking on it from the unzipped folder
2. You've checked your browsers settings: (Firefox) https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/fix-problems-images-not-show (Chrome): https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-google-chrome-not-loading-images/
Unfortunately I cannot reproduce this issue locally on Firefox or Chrome. This is a very strange issue that I haven't seen before in the past 3 years of game development. This suggests that the issue is something in your settings / preferences / security options in the browsers. Or the way the HTML is launched.
If you've checked the above browser settings, and it still isn't working, can check the console logs of the page? In firefox: First open the html. Then press Ctrl + Shift + J (in Windows) or Cmd + Shift + J (in Mac). Then refresh the html by pressing F5 or Ctrl + R. Does the console output mention anything about images / png files not loading properly?
Edit: The issue has been fixed (see latest post in this thread).
Hi! Pictures should be showing up. Please make sure you are not launching the game using a shortcut. After unzipping/unarchiving the game, you should have a file called "Tarus Infernal Pledge.html" and two folders called "img" and "music". Can you check if you have images inside the "img" folder?
As a final thing to check is your browser. The game opens in your default browser, but will work best with an up-to-date Google Chrome or Firefox on Windows.
Let me know if you still have issues!
Hi! The version on Steam will be the same as on Itch in terms of content, no worries! The full game will be available here on Itch too! (And anyone who's bought the early access version here on Itch will naturally get access to the full version!)
There is a technical difference, however: On Steam the game is an executable, but on Itch it's an HTML file you play in your own browser.
Hi!
In the current version you (female MC) is the sub in all nsfw scenes with bdsm. The dom is always a male.
There is one scene where you can choose to just have "vanilla" sex with the man (demon) instead.
There is one voyerism scene where you witness a male dom, female sub, bdsm.
BDSM in the context of the game means that most sex scenes involve some sort of power dynamics, ropes, bondage and/or submission. There is no "outside of sexual context" type of dom/sub relationships explored.
A lesbian playthrough might be possible in the future, because all nsfw are optional and your choices. It will affect the story and what paths and available though. However, right now, there is no lesbian content yet. I might add such scenes where it makes sense (2 future chapters and NPCs comes to mind).
Tags for nfsw in version 0.3.0 would be: Rope bondage, blowjob, vaginal sex, chains, voyerism, bdsm, spanking, female sub.
