Itch io's new content guidelines

Hey again.

I've been forced to restrict access to my games, because they break the new content rules.

"Violations that result in administrative action are permanent with no chance of appeal. Any funds on the account will not be eligible for payout. There is no second chance.*

New rules:

https://itch.io/docs/creators/faq#is-adult-content-allowed

Essentially:

We are unable to support the sale of any works containing these topics:

  • Non-consensual content (real or implied)
  • Underage or “barely legal” themes
  • Incest or pseudo-incest content
  • Bestiality or animal-related
  • Rape, coercion, or force-related
  • Sex trafficking implications
  • Revenge porn / voyeur / hidden cam
  • Fetish involving bodily waste or extreme harm (e.g., “scat,” “vomit”)

I'll keep you posted if the situation changes. For now, my games are no longer accessibly on itch due to these new rules.

Yours Truly,

FlimsyLegs

where it says "animal related" does that just mean any furry/anthro characters arent allowed anymore?

That is up for interpretation since it too is vague, but it can include anything furry related, or human+animal intercourse, or I guess even sexualized huumanoid animal creatures (e.g. big-titted minotaur enemies in an adult 2d side-scrolled).

Bunching everything together and forbidding it like they are all illegal deviancies and not genuine fetishes is how societies turn into dictatorships, but just like a lot of dictatorships, for some reason religion is perfectly ok despite what a vile creation it is...

Indeed... We need to stop the payment providers from strong-arming Steam and Itch like this. Hundreds of thousands of artists, writers, programmers, composers and translators are losing a lot of income from these new bans.
