yo can you add a pause screen before the thing restarts lol
otherwise really nice i loved the last level especially
This game is actualy giving me so much dopamine when my boy Galon Karbu became that one track runner from the olympics and sprinted at mach 10 to the end. I loved it. And I'd never believed I'd love snails that much.
The soundtrack was really well chosen as well, perfectly fits the chill feel of the game.
My only complaint is that it takes so long for the next race to come, but at the same time that just makes anticipation for it so much better.
Edit: Why is there a snail named Rahman Skibidi
I really liked the tradeoff system you had with the perks, although it might be nice to have a skip option for someone who doesn't want any downsides--then again it does give the boss a way to scale in difficulty if that is the goal. The game was pretty intuitive to learn I thought, and I liked the thematic music choice too
The ability to spam 0 on level 3 once I'd managed to piss of the wife too much XD
I think the main thing that makes it feel long for the first two levels is the limited options, but the choices are repeated multiple times. It feels like since I've already managed to get a good outcome out of a choice, i.e. changing the baby's nappy, I'm thinking less about what to actually choose and it starts to get monotonous.
The opposite thing happens in level 3, where now I've got too many options to choose from (which I know is the intent, and your message is portrayed well here), but this meant I was now spending a lot more time thinking about the choices. Since it seemed to be the same level duration as the other two, I really didn't want to spend double the time of the prior levels just to beat level 3.
TLDR I'd say that the number of choices could go down for each level by a little bit, but especially for level 3, where more thought needs to be put into each action which takes more time.
At first, I kept wanting to stop cause of the repeating gameplay loop, but I saw all these comments and I...couldn't. The music, the story, the chaos...it was so awesome, very well chosen on all these fronts. Wish I could make the wife happy but alas, I couldn't. Hey at least the game jam got done tho! Very well worth the play.
Absolutely amazing narrative. I can't believe you made a whole powerpoint on this, thats so great for the world building. As for the sound design, I loved the effects, the voice acting for the powerpoint, and just the music choice in general as well. The level design was really awesome, as DAMO238 pointed out it was really good proving that not every path was possible, or I'd be here for hours: Good for your time played statistic but not for enjoyment XD
Everything was so thematically consistent, just so awesome overall. Literally no complaints here.
I was like...wait I made this concept for GMTK 2 years ago where the guy copies your moves... (dusty the snowman game)
But wow, having 10 billlion clocks on opposite cornersto go to, and having the interaction that the other sheep bonk you is so creative. I really liked it, just would have liked a bit more of a tutorial
I feel like I know how to win, but I don't have the determination to get there...its so cool seeing that there are 2 sides to everything, and wow...thats creative idk what to say
I also really loved the audio work, it wasn't blasting goofy noises the whole time like some other games...it was perfectly balanced.
Amazing. Just wish i could dodge better.
I'm not sure that the bullets were timed correctly when the music thing played, Idk if this was intentional but it kind of felt like i was being lied to?
However I do really like the idea of having the killing of enemies being part of a beat, which was really awesome. I did notice the big enemies had a treble and bass clef which made me think that shooting them would play high/low pitch notes respectively, maybe an idea?
Idk why but playing this game left me with a smile on my face the whole time
I really loved the theming it was so funny to watch the horse get yoinked
I did notice that the loops around every object didnt seem to matter too much? I was able to achieve the same effect by just looping on one cactus
Overall really fun simple to learn game!
Deploying a +1 boost -> 2x (+1) multiplier -> 6 (+1) fireball was super satisfying. Unfortunately the fireball killed my multiplier and I started crying.
I am having a lot of fun with this game, I just wish there was a speed up animation mechanic cause it takes a while...
But yeah I really love turn based games like this where you can scale to some absolutely insane values, just waiting to draw a 2x->2x->2x->fireball or something
Edit: Holy crap attack priority 42 dmg
