This is an interesting game, but I had a lot of issues playing it. Using the scouts as you progress through the game becomes rather problematic, both because you can't control which landing site they come from (hence, can't really control the path they take) and because the fighters jets make it nearly impossible to use scouts to reveal military sites. This meant that I found myself using other ship types (notably landing sites) to uncover the map instead of using the scouts like intended. I also found the game to be a little too much waiting and repeatedly abducting the same cities rather than actually trying to strategize. I think making more of the actions faster (and even fasterer with reinforcements) would help a lot with the pacing and moment-to-moment gameplay.

Neat idea, though I wish the human resistance was a bit more capable - maybe having the humans attempt to destroy your bases could have led to deeper strategy gameplay. Cool concept for a strategy game though!

The game's concept and mechanics are nice, but could definitely have some audio and polishing!

Love this game, and I really enjoyed it!!

This is a pretty cool concept, love xcom and like the idea of a reversed xcom definitely would love to see where this goes!

If polished up a bit this could be turned into an interesting and cool game

Nice concept! Would be cool to see the idea developed further!

Cool game! Love your concept! I had trouble in my browser. Part of it is cropped :/

What an interesting and unique take on the gamejam theme :D Super well-done and nicely executed!

Cool game! I've never played XCOM but I really like the concept. Had fun playing this, although the game is a bit laggy on the web build (the fps got really low after I scouted the whole map).

Developer

Yeah I haven't done fog of war before and used a pretty hacky inefficient method, so I'm not surprised it lags out when everything is scouted.

I shall destroy those puny humans and their measly resistance!

A bit more feedback on the controls would be nice, sometimes i wasn't sure if i had selected something or not, but fun game.

Cool game. I just wish it was clearer to see what I had selected, cause I ended up doing the wrong thing several times.

This is a cool game! The concept of discovering territory was fun, but I wish the difficulty started a little bit easier.

Interesting! Managed to reach global domination. The concept was nice, had a hard time figuring out what I had selected but I managed without.

I've never played XCOM but I thought this concept was really fun. Finding cities, bases, and radars, prioritizing what missions to send out, really fun gameplay loop. Art was good, I wish there were some sound effects for the ui but I understand the time crunch leads to sacrifices! Could be a good speedrun game

Hahah i love the concept of XCOM reversed, good job!!

While I've never played XCOM, I thought the concept and gameplay were pretty cool; one thing I would've liked to have were different sprites for the ufos themselves to more visibly distinguish between each type (but I assume you probably just ran out of time which is fine)

points for no South Sudan for time period accuracy

Nice idea for the theme! And I guess not the easiest to develop! I didn't feel any pressure or threat though, which is something I think could be improved. But I did finish it and enjoyed systematically taking apart the human defenses!

Very nice

I'm not typically a big fan of strategy games but this was so fun I couldn't stop playing it! Could use some polish for sure but this is amazing for a game jam!
