Oh yes i remember an i will gladly tell you the tale of this bunch of fools as you ask ! ^^ (i also find its a strong part of the fun for a creator ! )

This was a classic group of heroes : a barbarian (woman), a dwarf, an elf (woman) and a wizzard. We decided to not bring equipement. It is quite a cooperative team on paper but the raid divided them in two distinct groups.  The barbarian found herself traped in the crypt and the wizzard go to the rescue without a second thought using "pass through rock".

At the exact same time, the two others, accompagnied by the group of orcs prisoners openend the gate to the main room and started the boss fight. Both or them were infected by the mind venom and the elf lost her healing spell. They were severly wounded when they killed the two gobos ladies and the abomination. I decided it was the perfect time of the orcs betrayal. They started panicking ! With a devastasting turn of tides, the orcs attacked the two heroes. Both were reduced to one BP ! They flied with a twelve for movement. It was hilarious. ^^

In the same time, barbarian and wizzard had done to kill the undead and find there were no way out by themself. Elf and dwarf decided to ambush the orcs by exploiting the movement limitation. Two were killed but the two last killed (or incapacited) the two heroes.

So the party was done with a disaster. It was a raid, a brutal and unlucky one. : ) I 'm lucky to have a group with good mentality so i gave them a fair chance to save their heroes in the near future. Perhaps in assaulting the fortress of the orcs and in sending an emergency team with the warlock and the druid to dig up the barbarian and the wizzard (if they haven't started to eat themselves XD).

So, your quest is pretty good exemple of a certain simplicity in design weach leads to stories that build themselves. : )

Thanks Dunkel,

Glad you like the quest ! :) If you play it one day, have a good with your cohort ! There are many very good quests in the submissions with their own strenght. I'm looking forward to see rest of your "Heroes of the Grave" campaign.  ; )

Ok ! It's cool. I'm looking forward for your "Directors Cut" ! : )

Hello,

I'm going to play your quest with my heroquest group next week-end. I love the variety of monsters used in your quest, the difficulty balance seems reasonable and the board design seems to provide good exploration.

Maybe i will sugest to my heroes to try to divide the group for spicing up the fight.

Thanks for the sharing and best luck for the Jam ! ; )

Hello,

I checked your version of "Halls of Durrag-Doll". Nice remaster here ! : ) There is a lot to venture to in this renewed old classic.

I wish you the best luck in future jam. I will take a look on your other quests.

Thanks for the sharing !

Hello !

First, sorry if i made english mistakes,

We played your quest last week-end. It serve of a good introduction to the heroquest comics (that can be find on yeoldinn). It was fine and old school.

Thanks for the sharing and good luck for the Jam.

Hello,

First, sorry for my bad english if i made mistakes,

We played your quest last week end and we enjoy it a lot ! :) It was, like the name said " a raid" end it was quickly done but it was fun. We loved the boss(es) and the orcs prisonners mechanics.

Thanks for the sharing ! Best luck for the Jam !

Hello,

First of all, sorry for my bad english if i made mistakes,

I discover your quest by the Ash video. What (an) a-mazing concept ! ^^ Seriously loved the reference to Portal/Portal 2.

It brings interesting situations and ways of thinking (in teledoortals !). We will without a doubt give your quest a try. I'm looking forward to see the reactions of my heroquest group !

Thanks for the sharing and best luck for the Jam !

This is a great idea ! I'm looking forward to watch your video when you will have time. ; ) Thanks !

Hey,

I just checked your quest " legacy of the Legacy of the Orc Warlord" (great title to ^^). It is also a very nice quest and i will definitely try it with a group of adventurers. I like the concept of the wandering monster (where the prisoners take damages) a lot.

With your post, i discover that "Tower of the Dread Witch" is from Terry. Waw ! Big congratulations  to him. We are sincerely impressed.

You already made me decide to have my second daughter try heroquest last summer. Now, the nice exemple of your quest will definitely decide my eldest to start writting quest. ^^

Big GG to you both !

DJac/Mim Hagen (alias David, its to believe that all the heroquest's dads have this name XD)

The Ash video on your quest brought me here ! : )

Thanks for the sharing !

Your quest is relatively simple in design but there is a good vibe emaning of it. It's good classical old fashion Heroquest with scenes that comes to live by on their own just by playing the quest.

Loved the spell-skill scrolls for the barbarian and the dwarf. It's an smart way to add some homebrew skill for the two warriors.

I'm curious about the rest of the campaign.

The riddle is perfect if the adventurers know even a little bit about dwarves. The players guessed correctly and it was a cool moment (my favorite, i think).

I'm lucky to have some heroquest fans at home so we can play more regularly but for years, it was also a game every two or three months ! ^^

If your group play my quest one day or another (and even if you play others), i wish you all a good time !

I agree that Kessandriah is an underused character. I'm wondering if she and Skullmar might make a comeback in future Heroquest expansions. In our heroquest homebrew meta, she takes also a far greater place.

It's true that the "one page rule" (even if i understand it), requires limiting our number of ideas to put in the quest, wich can be frustrating ! : )

But I particularly like the idea that you present here, which puts even more pressure on the adventurers. The design of the quest then corresponds to a real, big boss fight which may require reworking the entire expansion of the return of Witch Lord so as not to have this quest overshadow it. However, if this is done, the result could be very, very badass.

I was the Zargon in this and i tried to  warn the heroes but they have been foolish. ^^ We debrief after the ending and we think that the fight, althought difficult, is feasible. The mechanics in this quest are really cool ! :)

Hello !

Sorry for my bad english if i made mistakes . ^^

We played your quest at home last week and it was really fun ! : )

For some reasons, my daughter is a fan of Kessandria so fighting this iconic enemy is always fun for us.

The setup for the quest is great and i think that your idea of polarized monsters is one the best of this Jam ! It's super interesting gameplay-wise !  The board's organization is beautifull and looks unic.

The fight against Kessandria is very very difficult. Our heroes were destroyed but it was a fun adventure nonetheless.

Big thanks for sharing your quest !

Hello !

First, sorry for my bad english if i make mistakes.

Thanks for sharing your quest !

The Crown of Valor was the first quest of this Jam that i tested, before the end of the submission's.

It's ogre's Time ! The idea of an ogre hero is just super fun ! Thural is left a bit hungry, not because this quest is bad (loved the puzzles and fights) but because it sets the table for more ! :) It's a good thing ! Will there be a sequel ?

Have a nice day !

Hello ! First, sorry for my bad english if i were to leave mistakes. ^^"

Just yesterday, we played "Tower of the Dread Witch".

In my opinion, your quest is one the best of this Jam ! :)  We had a great time !

Each area is well crafted and memorable. It's a fresh and inventive quest. At first, the board on the pdf feel a bit "empty" but it was a false impression. The boss room, in particular, is fire but i espacially  liked the library.

I follow your video channel on youtube. We play a lot of heroquest games with the kids too.

Thank you for the sharing !

Hello ! First, sorry for my bad english if i were to leave mistakes. ^^"

So, we played "Nigrud the goblin assassin" last week-end ! : )

First, thank you for this nice quest. Alongside the pdf, the card and the images accompaniying your submission are a nice touch to set the mood.  We really had a good time.

The dwarves and goblins thematic is very well illustrated here and this quest has an ambiance and... a soul.

When we play a heroquest's quest, we like to have fun, good challenge (with a good balance of difficulty), a game that is neither too long nor too short and a little somethings that adds identity and make it memorable. Your quest has all of this.

***

SPOILERWARNING

- The utilisation of the differents goblins miniatures is a very good idea. This provides tactical choices for Zargon and diversity in the gameplay situations.

- Nice allusion to Durgin.

- The dwarves are my favorite fantasy race and you capture their spirit ( ;) ) very well .

- Moon-moon  ! ^^

Good luck for this jam to everyone. ! Thank you all for submitting all these awesome quests. We have already played three of them. There were very fun and we had a great time. I will review these quests soon on their submission page. I think it's a big part of the fun for the creators to actually have some reviews and feed-back on their work ! :) Thank you for the fun !

I discover the jam by watching videos last year and god it was fun ! It's interresting to discover some new ideas, creative stories, ennemies, rules, gimmics, some rooms organisations that bring new mechanics or simply some good old fashioned  quests.

Edit MAJ, reupload 28-03-24 :

Hello adventurers, the quest has been slightly reworked and some illustrations have been added.

Have fun and good luck for the Jam ! : )
