Still checking on the project from time to time.

Waiting for the next demo!

Beautiful game and yeah, definitely looks expansible.

One issue for me is having to wait for the coin animations during the Blackjack portion. They make the experience sluggish!

Thanks, man! :)

Nice and working game. Especially like the music during gameplay. Is it available anywhere?

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

I actually implemented a missed beat feedback, it's a boing noise. I think the issue is that the time window for hitting beats in the level is too small. If you spam the space bar, you can see (and hear) when you hit/miss.

The width,  found it too narrow to navigate properly.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks a lot, Joshua

This game is my choice for community vote.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

This is so funny!

Thanks a lot for playing. After the jam voting is done I'll definitely come back to the project and try and fix the issues and add visual warnings and indications.

Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! Will hopefully keep working on this game after the jam ends.

A beautiful and very polished game, congratulations!

I actually like this experience of discovering how a game works when it's good. I think explaining would have spoiled it!

It's nice! I feel like the sight angle is a bit too low. In an underwater game I'd love to have a sonar!

For my project the important part was the array of beats and finding a way to detect input in a fraction of time around those beats. It helps to have your song in a DAW to see the percussion layer and base the point in bpm of beats around something on that layer. In the Space Walk level I used the snare. If you're composing your songs you need to be mindful of which instrument you're gonna base the input on, it's part of the level design.

Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback :)

(1 edit)

Thanks for playing! I originally planned for the Space Walk level to be the last out of four. It's basically just offbeats.

This really helpful article by Yu Chao on Gamasutra provided me with a seed:

Real fun - it's the game I've spent the most time playing as of now

Great idea. I though the girl was a bot until level 7, had no idea why she was trying to jump over the spike every time instead of shooting it, then I realized how the game really works.

I like the idea of navigating through audio and text, but I couldn't understand what was going on during the combat. Liked the audio quality!

This is shape-gating!

Love the look and feel. Controls are snappy.

Nice idea with the music layers. Though about doing something like this too but had no time.

Impressive art!

I think with a little balancing this could be a real fun game

Very nice! Not sure why I could only load the game on Internet Explorer.

Beautiful art.

Very nice gameplay. I found the level a bit too difficult though! Had a hard time latching on to the small squares and navigating.

Good idea. Found it hard to shoot consistently!

Really cute art on this one!
