First thing first, the game window is WIDE. I don't know if this is a problem for everyone else but when I tried it on my PC (with dual monitors) the game is like one and a half screen wide, and the lower part of the game is barely visible. There's no way to fix this though, so I just played as it is.

The movement is too snappy, I almost feel like the game just jumped to the next tile and not moving as normal. The battle is nice, it's automated and I got an item after fighting, but it'd be better if we can see if the equipment we get is better or worse after we get it.

A map would be useful though, since most of the dungeons are totally the same and it gets confusing where you are.

It's a pretty good game, with nice atmosphere and movement. My only complaint is the timer runs out too fast, I can't even go to where I want to go or know whether I went to the right way. The voice acting was a nice addition too.

Oh yeah, another bad thing is I can't immediately tell which wall I can bomb since the tile gets dark just 2 tiles ahead of me, so I really need to be right in front of the bombable tile to tell.

The game is pretty scary, and the movement is really good. It just kinda odd that the footsteps doesn't sound like a footstep, but I think that was an old school SFX. The texts are too small for my convenience. I have to bow forward to the screen to be able to completely read it, also the dialogue just automatically continues which is bad, because it does so when I haven't finished reading it.

Most of the place is also empty and without anything to interact on. I don't know how to do the battles but it seems like we have to select the correct answer or we get a hit to our health.

thanks for the review. I actually tried to make a battle system but couldn't get it done in the jam time so I had to scrap that and publish what I had. I am intending to keep developing it, I like it and hope this game can get better.

Nice base game, I think the story that the player in a strange dimension is a good excuse for the invisible parts of the dungeon. I would like it if the spike puzzle's timing is based on player's movement and not real time, I was kinda surprised that I have to move quickly to avoid it.

I died before I find an enemy to fight, so I can't comment on the battle system. but overall, it's pretty good.

Nice game, it just kinda surprised me when the battle just happens without any change in music or UI, I got attacked first because of that lol. I love the movement, it feels fast but not too fast. The graphics are good too

Bad thing about the game is that Jill just keeps talking, I know this is how the game is intended to be played but I wish there's a way to make her shut up XD

Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you like it. Yeah, I was planning to add combat into the game but it took too long, so I decided not to include the combat system for now.

Thank you for your comment. And you're right, I should've made it to show all the text the first time the button was pressed, I just didn't think of it. I'm planning to improve it after I gave my review to other games.

NVidia

what do you mean by graphical issues? Can you be more specific?

I don't know what you mean by most of the dungeon was transparent. I didn't encounter that bug when developing.

well, I don't know that most games also have that kind of gameplay when I was making mine. But I think that's what most people would think when they think of "infinity" theme.

Thank you!

it is the infinity theme, because you're going back to the start of the game after you complete it.

I forgot to test walking backwards through the locked gates. But you're right, I almost have no spare time to test it. It is my first time making a dungeon crawler game so I still have things to learn especially movements and controls.

Yeah, I hope I could develop it further, adding battle systems and making the dungeon larger. I'll have to make better plans before I update it. Thank you for the comment.

this is really good, but I'm start getting dizzy when the whole stage just moves. Maybe it's the motion sickness kicking in.

the game is really like a clone of vampire survivors, so I don't give it much credit in the originality of it. Actually, this isn't the first game in this jam that tries to mimic vampire survivors, maybe everyone just want to do that when they read the jam's theme. The game could use a title screen though, it's surprising to me when the game started, and I just got shot.

I know the game's instruction on the web says that the button to open the upgrade menu is spacebar, but it'd be nice if you add something like an exp bar or something that shows me I have enough points to upgrade. I don't know how big the enemy's health is but even though I upgraded the shot power (the middle upgrade), it's still hard to shoot the enemy down, or maybe it's just me.

I like the shake effect when we got shot though, it gives a good feedback.

the game is pretty good, but the gameplay is very similar to other twin stick shooter. Making player's bullets collide with the enemy's bullets is weird to me because it makes unable to fight them from close range, and there's no upgrade system so the only strategy is to shoot the enemy while moving backward.

It'd be nice if you can have bullets with a curved trajectory or bullets that can go through enemy bullets after destroying it, and add bigger enemies with more hit points.

it feels like a vampire survivor's clone but sadly a worse version of it. Because basically the gameplay is about avoiding many enemies while shooting at them. The bad part is I can't aim my shot even though I moved my mouse (because I thought I aim using my mouse), instead it seems like the aiming is done automatically but I don't know which way it is aiming. It is either shooting at the closest enemy square or the biggest, which is bad because my strategy is to destroy the small ones, so I have room to escape.

And there's no upgrade mechanic, we can gather the blue squares, but it doesn't seem to do anything. After I died, there's no upgrade screen where I can upgrade my stats, or maybe the game doesn't have a stat system?

After I died, I just have a Game Over text over the screen. No way to restart the game or something like that. In my opinion, this game still need more pol;ish.

thanks for the detailed feedback. I'm glad you like it.  As for your suggestions:

  • I've tried making the starting speed faster, but it will lead to the speed getting REALLY fast after the player upgrades several times, so I have to make it slower so the player will have a motivation to upgrade the speed.
  • The health bar (green bar at the top left) already decreases by 1 point every second, I am hoping this will motivate the player to move around, collect the cyan triangles, and get upgrade for health. But your 3 hits health idea was also good, I wonder why I didn't think of it when I made the game.
  • the character's face was originally just blue, but I didn't think that would make a good character, so I tried to make it more interesting. I didn't know how to make the face better while keeping to the theme of the game jam, so it's the best I could do. Thanks for the color palette link, I didn't know about it.
  • yeah, getting hit by a near transparent triangle is really frustrating, but if the triangles just disappear all of a sudden, the game would feel weird IMO.

thank you!
