Hm, Yeah most of the stuff you said are easy fixes mostly. Thx anyway!

Yeah very cool puzzle game haha! It's very polished and the concept is SICK, i love it! The puzzles are hard, but they're puzzle games lol

Nah but fr i dont notice many things i can critique. Great game and huge contender for first place!

Keep it up!

Very fun concept indeed! Would have loved some kind of timer score, though. There should be progression, too! Wouldve loved that.

Good little game! Decent gimmicks here and there. Loved the art and level design too- only thing i would critique is the controls feel kind of unnatural.

The game is quite innovative; I love the idea of keeping the house safe and i love the effects. One thing to note is that art is not the best, but good for 7 days tbh. Keep it up!

The game is indeed VERY challenging, but I loved it though! The controls are okay and the sfx remind of the old NES games fsr. Anyway, Keep it up!

xD

We're glad you think so!

Okay, so basically to start things off... I loved the concept! I definitely did not expect a luck game in the jam before now, and this one's very well done! I loved the PC style menu- and the (level?) design is cool. The music is nothing special but VEEEEERY fitting. Now, no game's perfect, so im gonna start off with the few things i didn't like:

-The art is a bit hard on the eyes. It's kind of becuz of all the different (art styles?)

-The number on the dice is not very visible. Not mandatory ofc.

-The game needs a LOTTA stuff to better, like more levels, maybe more grounds, you know, stuff like that.

Anyway, keep it up.

Sorry for the inconvenience- but I wanted to ask, how did you find this game? This is SUPPOSED to be a jam game, so it's kinda weird to see feedback before it's actually submitted.

(1 edit)

oh no im going to (bucket) hell

oh nice :))

Damn, this deserves the amount of reviews it got. The character design is downright impressive, the art palette awfully reminds of Hazbin's Hotel (even the idea is kinda close!)- Really great, fluid movement, too. The only thing that can be said about, and that other people on itch complained about, is the controls. Why use k and j? These are really uncommon. Couldn't you used w or space for jump and z or x for the long jump? these are more comfortable buttons for players. One thing I also noticed is that this was created solo, which is very, very, very impressive. Numbers:

Art: 9/10

Music: 8/10

Implementation of mechanics: 9.5/10

Theme: 8.5/10

Honestly, one of the best games in the jam. Amazing work! Keep it up.

Wow this is very smart lol. Very good art, too. It seems like you did this solo, which is VERY impressive. The idea of moving using your gun is implemented a lot in other games, but you implemented it here so well i have to give you credit! Such great work. Audio is okay in my opinion, but something feels off about it, like it's kinda rushed...

Suggestion: Maybe give us more bullets to work with? That's the only idea i got. The game's quite good.

Onto the numbers:

Art: 8/10

Music: 6.5/10

Implementation of mechanics: 9/10

Theme: 9/10

Great work man! Keep it up! I'd love to see this game post-jam.

\Wow haha. The lore here was quite good. I really loved the art. It took me a while to get used to the controls, but overall, it's all great! Music isn't really getting much attention from me, I'm not sure if thats something on me or not tho xD. The idea is really good, although I'm pretty sure it was used in other games lol

(Spolier Alert:)

That final boss was the biggest pushover and the greatest "bro thinks he's the main character" moment I've ever seen in my life xD

Oooh and i forget to add- The voice acting here is fricking amazing and so funny i love it xD

I agree with all of these but the 3rd suggestion. I made it that way on purpose :))

(3 edits)

Amazing idea but it took me a while to know what i should do lol. The art is pretty great, although shouldn't the grim reaper be HOLDING the weapon, not just floating xD. Jokes aside- Very unique idea. How did you even figure that idea out?

Music is catchy but kinda generic- Implementation of mechanics is about okay. You guys should keep it up, I'd love to see improvements after the jam :))

Numbers:

Art: 9/10

Music: 7/10

Implementation and programming of mechanics: 8/10

Theme: 10/10

Again, keep it up!

Quite tough, haha. The movement is really snappy- but it took me a while to figure out there's double jumps lmao. One thing I can say is that the generators take way too long to finish loading imo. The enemies are kinda like npcs- they should do more ig? Idk that doesn't really look like very valuable feedback. The art is simplistic and cool, the idea is very special (the game's name even more). But you should've REALLY used better music since the track you used is kinda overused (even outside of gamedev, i hear it EVERYWHERE). Now onto the numbers:

Art: 8.5/10

Music: 6.5/10 (that may differ to other ppl lol)

Implementation of mechanics: 9/10

Theme: 10/10

Keep it up mate! Great work.

Pretty nice game, exactly what's expected to be made in a few days (which is not a bad thing by the way), and it's good/great in most areas. For example, in art, the art is simple but easy to see. Again, what you think can be made in a few days. Music is pretty great but not very "catching" of attention. That could either be a music problem or just the platforming is hard.

Speaking of platforming- the game's pretty hard on touchpads. My touchpad is pretty decent tho-and I would have appreciated alternate keyboard controls (like x for grappling instead)

Onto the numbers:

Art: 8.510

Music: 8/10

Implementation of mechanics: 9/10

Theme: 7.5/10. Nothing to gimmicky tbh.

I honestly think your game is great and deserves a good place in the jam. Good work guys! Keep it up.

Like the other people said, art is amazing, but mechanics feel realllly weird. I could tell this game would've been much better if you had more time. I would recommend limiting your scope, especially with so many teammates (5). You had a pretty great original idea too- i'd really love to see it later on post-jam. Onto the numbers:

Music: 8.5/10.

Art: 9/10.

Implementation of mechanics: 6/10.

Theme (RN): 7/10.

Theme (OG): 9/10 if implemented correctly. Again, I'd love to see it up post-jam.

Keep it up guys! You seem like pretty talented devs. I'd recommend longer jams for this scope of project :))

(1 edit)

Sorry for being harsh- but this game really could've been something. Seemed like you had a proper idea, too. The art is actually okay, other than the placeholder godot blocks. Seriously- you could've just used black squares and it would have looked better. There is sadly no proper game- and it seems time ran out before you could've implemented a lot of things.

You two seem like good devs. Maybe join a longer gamejam? you could CERTAINLY finish something on there.

I recommend the "One game of month" jam.

No hard feelings. I'm kind of curious though, what was your original idea?

(1 edit)

Art is very good and music's catchy. Very nice effects- but the programming could use some work. It also needs something to explain what we should we do- like a tutorial or something. I also noticed it's made by quite a lot of people- wow. Amazing theme idea and lore(?), I loved the idea of us being a kid who wants to be a hero. really nostalgic, to be honest. Onto the numbers:

Music: 9/10.

Art: 9.5/10.

Implementation of mechanics: 7/10.

Theme: 10/10.

Fun: 7.5/10.

Keep it up! Good work folks.

Can I just say i absolutely LOVE the music? It has this nes+gameboy feel to it and I absolutely love it! Even it's pre-made, it's some good choice!

Can I also say the game is EXTREMELY underrated and polished? It's one of the most polished games i've seen in the jam- and you guys clearly know what it means to limit scope.

The game's a bit hard with a touchpad- thats on me tho 😅

The theme implementation is simple and flashy. Not too many gimmicks. The same thing can be said for art though.

Onto the numbers:

Music: 9.5/10

Art: 8/10

Implementation and programming of mechanics: 8.5/10

Theme: 8/10

I can add the game's pretty fun.

Amazing game! Keep it up guys :))

I loved the menu and the idea itself was okay- but the game itself needs proper polish. For example- The grappling feels slightly unnatural- it kind of lags? Shooting is pretty ok. It has no music and the art is very minimal, to say the least. Maybe you're not good at drawing or composing- but in that case just use pre-made assets and credit them. Another problem OUTSIDE the game is that it really, really, needs a thumbnail. Cuz a thumbnail is what draws people to try your game- and ppl didn't do that. I only saw your game because of randomizing- but i wouldn't have realised it even existed before that. Onto the numbers:

Art: 6/10

Music: 0/10 (sorry. the lack of music and sfx is pretty unnatural)

Programming and implementation of mechanics: 7.5/10. Not bad.

Theme: 8.5/10

Other than that- It's just a good game. Keep it up, and maybe fix stuff post-jam :)))

Very fun. The idea is quite unique, and the music is slightly annoying in my opinion but still pretty fitting. Simple and quick to understand- I loved the implementation of the theme. Art is quite good, too. To the numbers:

Art: 9/10

Music: 7/10

Implementation-programming: 8.5/10

Theme: 10/10.

This will definitely place pretty high in the jam- and it's very impressive that you supposedly created this alone, too! Keep up the good work, and I hope to see more amazing games from you in the future!

sure

tips?

Sry mate- I'll try to fix that post jam. Remember you can hold to jump higher tho.

that is OVERLY weird. It worked with everyone else. Are you sure it isn't an internet problem

haha- thank you. That polish part is on me cuz i spent my time on way different things lol- and yes i agree that z is an awkward spot indeed, my mistake.

Thank you for your review anyway, I appreciate it.

Very underrated game. The only thing it needed is music and better art. love the effects and platforming

Y'all arguing over this shitty game lol

Loved the game- and I loved the "hacker-y" feel even more. The game itself is very polished- especially for a 4 day game. Only a few things actually annoyed me, such as the "press space" thingy always working- even if you're outside of it. Not sure if that's intentional or not, though. Another thing, is that, in imo, even when i set the text speed to fast, it was still kinda slow imo. Maybe give us smth to skip thro to the end of the text, without actually skipping the text, if you get what i mean. All that aside, good game. Greatwork.

good game. Like littlepuly said- sometimes the nail is impossible to get. That aside- good art- good music- decent mechanics.

Your dev did a great job in making the mechanics, btw. The theme implementation is neat, if a bit generic?

You all deserve some applause. Great work yall

(1 edit)

"The healing sometimes work and sometimes doesn't" is written in the instructions before the game. SInce, well, it's a luck game :))

Other than that, all of the art is done by shiroze. Credit them well :)))

Shiroze :))

Thank you for your valuable feedback :)

Yeah ik the minigames are hard, you can mostly thank my teammate for that!

Smart Puzzle game, but the connection to the theme is kinda weak.

love the feedback! Thx.
