This is some very helpful and constructive feedback.

Starting with the direction the arrows go in, we thought about if for quote some time, with the original idea being that the sequences were shown horizontally and go left to right, but it made more sense in the screenspace to have it vertical. Because of this we added the animations where the arrows bounce slightly when they activate to sort of force the player to pick up on it.

As for the grid representation, we have considered that idea, but it sort of goes against part of the steps of the game. It is up to the player to parse the sequence and build a mental grid themselves and then see where that pattern would fit in given their surroundings.

The gray dots! Those show you what tiles would have been okay to stand on in order to not die during the next sequence. Apologies if that was a little unclear. We are working on adding easier levels and maybe their purpose will be made more obvious on a smaller grid.

There actually is a fullscreen! Since we are wrapping the game with a minified Chromium window, you can press F11 to fullscreen the game and it should work like how your standard browser would fullscreen. If you are having issues with that let us know so we can look into it.

Different screenshake levels. That is a good idea. I'm pretty sure we thought about it at some point in development but it never made its way onto the planning board, so thank you for the reminder :) We will most likely split the current setting for screenshake into two separate booleans for screenshake on move and screenshake on "bonk."

Hope these responses were inciteful, and I look forward to seeing how both of our games progress with time :)

Yeah that was the problem, you just managed to explain it much more elegantly than I could. If you are using the Unity physics engine for it, perhaps keeping an array of the GameObjects for each food type that gets dropped from a container, and when that container is about to drop again, it deletes all the still-existing items in that array? Just brainstorming

Looking forward to trying it out!

Wow interesting concept! The sounds were amazing XD!! I think it would be great if you implemented clickable links for the [[GO TO PAGE n]]s, or at least a table of contents as most PDF viewers allows you to click on the contents through a side bar. I feel like that would make the experience a lot better as it would make transitioning between pages much smoother.

Very neat game, I enjoyed the pixel art and the simple sound effects. My favorite level was the first one you stack the little guys up :) I liked how the first few levels are set up that they teach the player the game mechanics. The difficulty definitely increased pretty quickly, but the game was still an interesting solve. Nice work!

Also I forgot to mention, I love the name for the game! Looks like we both appreciate puns :)

A very interesting game!! I may have spent a lot longer on this one than the other ones I am supposed to review... I love the concept, even though it can be a little unforgiving at times, but that'sprobably  why health was pretty easy to obtain. I really loved being able to queue up many moves and watch the character perform them while also trying to prevent any unwanted actions from happening.

As for suggestions, maybe make it so that space bar allows you to confirm your action? The same way clicking the button does? It think it would allow some players to have a more streamline experience.

I loved the artstyle, everything matches and it was really well put together. Exellent work people!

You mentioned that you changed how diegetic the UI was, but I was not getting any sound at all. Is that intended? It was also unclear which direction to go most of the time, maybe having a few arrows around to guide the player would be good? I just now realized that this build was uploaded 16 days ago which means that it is not the uploaded one? If so, let me know when you upload the newer one so I can give that one a try! :)

Interesting concept, and nice menu screen :) The game controls pretty well and you get a feel for how to open the player's mouth correctly pretty quickly. I think it would be cool if it played a ding noise or something if you successfully eat all of the foods that fall from one container in a row.

As for bugs, I noticed that a couple times one of the foods from the previous contrianer drop would fall as the first food when it drops again. i.e., cheese then ducks, there would be a bunch of cheese that falls, then some other thing elsewhere, then one more cheese then the ducks fall.

Thank you for the kind words! You are correct, currently there is no music in the game, hense why the master and music volume sliders are locked where they are in the settings. Maybe the decision to have them there but be locked was a little vague.

Incrementally sized maps are already in development, as well as rectangular maps and maps that are not regular shapes at all. Really glad you were happy with the game, and thank you for the feeback :)

Nonsense about the pickiness :) That's what this is all about! But yes, as Grady said, we will be adding many more features including multiple levels with different mechanics, so stay tuned!

Thanks for the feedback! When you say "polish on the sound department," was that referring to adding music alone? or something about the current sounds. I wonder because we are up for changing anything if it will make the game be a better experience.

As for music, we are currently in the works of adding just that, as well as many other features like multiple levels are more! So stay tuned!

Glad you enjoyed it! Things like sfx and more levels will be coming real soon :)

Haha we are planning on adding music, possibly with the feature where it signifies that the timer is about to end for the player. Does that sound stress inducing enough? :)

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks! Music and sfx were originally intended but we got close on time and decided to cut them. We will have an update for the game that will add things like sounds and more pretty soon :)

Interesting idea! Get's insanely hard insanely quickly XD I really enjoyed the look of this game and the audio effects were hilarious

This game should have more reviews :) I really enjoyed the look and feel of this game. The movement was a bit finicky, as you could not jump while moving that easily, but once I got used to it it was okay. I really liked the colors and how they really popped. All of the teleporting around reminded me of those scenes from Scooby-doo where they are all running around a corridor with many doors and they keep popping in and out of different ones XD

Very cool game :) I loved how the jump sound was a keypress XD It sounds like the audio source was physically placed in the center of the scene, so I can hear the music panning around as I move, but besides that, it was a really nice experience. It would be nice if the blocks that turn on from the laptops were distinguishable from the blocks that stay but still only apply to one color.

The game seemed to stop spawning pins at some point. Interesting bowling + magic theme, but how does it fit in with the theme of "Out of Control"? I did enjoy it, and it would make a pretty cool game outside of this jam :)

Nice little game :) The difficulty progression was good, with the game getting a bit more difficult after the player just gets used to the controls. However, it seems as though it was pretty easy to just kite the enemies around without taking damage, which defeats the purpose of reserving clicks. So once you run out of clicks with no more items on screen, you just either move around for a while or give in and die. Besides that, it was a pretty nice and well presented game.

A very neat idea. It would be cool if maybe some time after pressing a key, it showed what the current movement keys are incase someone gets lost.

A nice and simple game :) I enjoyed the tulips feature as they stop you from just mindlessly cutting everything down. Nice work!

Once the jam ends we will have Mac and Linux builds available! We originally intended to have them at launch but we were running close on time, so we decided to play it save and only build for Windows.

Glad you liked it :)

Thank you kind user! You should have heard Grady and me in the Discord call when we had the idea to paint the tiles as the objective, so that it forces the player to travel around the map. We're really glad that you picked up on that design intention :) We do plan to continue development on the game once the game jam ends, and sounds will be one of the new features. We originally inded to have them for the jam release, but we ran out of time.

Stay tuned for the next updated with sounds and more :)

Ohh! That's a really neat idea! It's definitely going on the planning board :) We will be updating the game after the game jam ends, so look forward to this in a future update!

Sound will be coming a future update! We couldn't get them done in time for the competition. The game is a bit difficult, but in future version there will be easier levels.

Wow I loved your idea! Such a neat interpretation of the theme of "out of control." I really enjoyed the simplicity of your artstyle and input method, it's clear that we have that in common :)

It looks like several people have created collections that include both of our games! It's neat how people pick up on the aspects that make our games similar, despite being very distinct. Great game, and I look forward to seeing it do well in the rankings :) Good luck!

Glad you liked it :)

Thanks! As soon as we got the idea we knew it was what we would go with for the competition.

Glad you enjoyed it!

Really interesting concept! I liked how each character had different traits that you needed to figure out. The sound effects were a really nice touch. Having only one character with a light was a bit hard to get used to, but I understand the decision.

The hitboxes on the characters were a bit rough, as I sometimes had to wait almost a minute in order to get back to one character to move him slightly. But besides all that, it was a pretty enjoyable experience :)

Nice job!

Wow thank you for the feedback!! Grady and I used to make small games together back in highschool but we have been rather preoccupied for the last few years with college. Because of current world situations, we suddenly had a bit more time on our hands so I suggested we do this game jam, and man was it a good idea!

I feel like making this game reestablished our passion towards making games, and I feel like we might continue work on our older games, so stay tuned for those if you liked the feel of this game :)

Interesting concept! It seems like you could create some really intricate levels with this idea. Would love to see more levels added in the future. The input seemed to not register sometimes, is that intended?

Found a bug where you start the raft moving and then move back onto the dock. Besides that, really great game! The colors really stood out and apparently that gets you a lot of clicks XD

Glad you got it to work! By chance, does the path to your Itch app files contain a space? That is the only thing that immediately stands out as a possibility. That was a problem at one point in development, but it should have been taken care of, as I cannot get it to happen again.

Strange... I run it through the Itch app and it works fine (also Windows). I think I might know what is causing that problem, and I will do some messing around to see if I can cause it and then fix it. In the meantime, let me know if it works fine when download through the website :)

We hadn't considered that yet! Multiplayer with different colors is a great idea! We will definitely add that to the design board :)

Glad you liked our game! :)

Different colored arrows is a good idea, but I'd have to rewatch Mark's video on accessibility first XD.

We plan on adding music and sounds in a future update so stay posted :)
