Quick Summary! (+ Dev. Info)
Collect descending Halos to increase your score! More score equals more speed, use your available power-ups wisely.
This game was developed through Godot Engine in approximately two weeks as an attempt to finally release a new project. I experimented a lot of new things during the development:
- New music Instruments (VSTs);
- Juicy UI;
- New coding techniques.
I'm also mentioning I was originally going to develop it through Unity (just to learn it), but decided to stick with Godot as it's the only one I use and is familiar to me.
Media!
Itch is apparently glitched and I'm having trouble trying to add a screenshot... I'll edit this as soon as I can...
Have Fun! :D

- Suggest your best implementation for it.
For Bug Reporting:
- Follow the Overall Steps;
- Describe how to replicate the bug the max you can.
Feedback Example:
Item: halos are too slow.
Type: Feedback.
Suggestion: increase the speed by a tiny bit and make so they speed faster.
Bug Example:
Item: volume sliders at the settings are not working properly.
Type: Bug.
Replication: use the keys as the UI while the mouse is visible and select any slider.

That FireOc Game is a 2D platformer game where you control FireOc, a humanoid living fire that got his cousin kidnapped and has to save her (more details about the lore in the game's page). The game is a simple platformer with easy to understand mechanics, but it has a salty touch of challenge spiced into it.
Today the game got an update, and this update is centered on three new features:
- Cracker City: a city level for the game. Unlike the previous three levels, this one is only part of the full game, and it can only be accessed through playtesting for now. If you want to become a playtester, consider messaging me on Discord (broqui_games), but don't worry, I'll be making a formulary for finding playtesters soon.
- Score Attack: the first new game mode. Get the highest score before reaching the end of the level. Sounds easy, until you notice you're losing score per second if you're not max energy and you can't get the blobs (more score) if you have max energy, meaning you have to find the best strategy in order to get the highest score.
- Cutscenes: THE L O R E.
I'll be leaving some videos gameplay videos from my YouTube channel, feel free to subscribe if you want to know more about the game:
See you next time!!! :D
(The link to the Asset Pack page is at the bottom of the post)
The "Ghost Graveyard Asset Pack" is an asset pack which contains remastered, polished, and new assets from my first Jam game called "The Ghost and The Life Cards". The sprites (besides the parallax) are made on a 24x24 grid, and they were made using the Pax24 color palette. The asset pack may be small, but I imagine that it'll also be useful for your future jams.
You can buy the pack with all of the assets for at least $1, but you can buy it for only 50 cents as it's on a 50% percent discount (ends July 17th). As my first paid project for itch.io and also my first sale, my goal is to at least get my first $10. If you want to support me and help me get better resources for developing my projects, consider purchasing it!

STATUS: OPEN
Hello! My name is Fernando, but you can call me Broqui. I'm a hobbyist game developer and self-taught musician with nearly 4 years of experience.
I'm currently working on a 2D pixel-art platformer game called "That FireOc Game". You play as a piece of fire which has to save his cousin after she got kidnapped, and for that, you'll pass through 6 different Levels with 2 Parts each and a Boss Battle. The game is currently in development and the first 3 levels are fully done, which also means the demo is pretty much finished and the rest of the levels will be publicly released once the game is finished.
The game is available for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android, and here's the link if you want to try out the demo: https://broqui-game.itch.io/that-fireoc-game (note: some tracks in the demo are outdated as many have since been polished)
The final soundtrack will probably include around 30 tracks, and they're all less than 2 minutes each (some even below 1 minute). Due to my self-taught learning, I only found out about the proper music mixing and mastering importance just a few months ago.
While I'll keep improving my skills through online resources, I'd like to team up with someone more experienced so I can better focus on the game and composition itself.
I'm looking for:
- A volunteer that's also a big fan of the VGM world
- Someone who's good with both Mixing & Mastering (please show me at least one past project of yours)
- Someone who is able to use references legally
- Able to community through Discord
What you'll get:
- Credited on the game and the OST
- Great material for your portfolio (30 tracks!)
- A new friend! (who doesn't like them?)
- Possibility of future collaborations
If you're interested or have any questions, you can reply me or DM me through Discord (broqui_games)
Cya later :D
Just gave your game a try. It's pretty well done.
I guess the only feedback I can give is about the bomb hitbox, as it's too big and nearly un-dogeable. If you can balance it, your game will improve by 100%
Also, the soundtrack is really good, and I'm curious to know if the 8-bit instrumentation of it (which I presume it's NES) follows the hardware limitations:
- 2 Square Waves
- 1 Triangle Wave
- 1 Noise Generator
- 1 Sample Channel
Good luck with your project! And... r/suddenlycaralho?
Yo, wassup?
I just played the game for a few minutes, and here's some feedback I can instantly give you:
- The controls are too confusing. I'd recommend using the mouse to aim and shoot while WASD is used for movement;
- The tutorial isn't clear. I couldn't focus on the text while there was enemies coming, and I still don't know how to kill them;
- Although you say this is a prototype, I recommend you at least to use better placeholder sprites (like simple forms). You can also add more juicy feedback to the game, like screen shake and particles;
- I don't like the music. Honestly, it doesn't fit with the game, and it sounds like it's made by AI.
Your game idea looks fun, I wish you luck for the project.
Ohw, ohw, ohw.
Uhhh... I mean... Nice game!
I found 2 weird bugs: the Sound Effects not playing and being able to continue the gameplay after the Game Over.
It also seems that you don't know a lot about music composing, I recommend trying to learn music theory, there's some good videos on YouTube teaching it and when you learned all of the basics you can start watching a Youtuber called "Alex Yard and Knuckles", he makes music theory about old games of the 90s most likely Sonic, it's really cool to see how those amazing tracks are able to fit the situation. DM me on discord if you interested on learning how to make better music.
So, I was going to play the games that contains a web version, but when I tried to run the game it said "Error: The following features required to run Godot projects on the Web are missing:
Cross Origin Isolation - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)
SharedArrayBuffer - Check web server configuration (send correct headers)"
This happened to some of my games before and u just need to toggle SharedArrayBuffer on the itchio project editing screen.
Can't rate the game for now.
