The shifting camera is jarring especially while fighting and the controls are really finnicky, I love the visual style, i love it, its really nice. Love the dialogue, I think the connection to the theme is on the weaker end but still really interesting, and you did it in a way that i havent seen done before

Giving it a playthrough now!

Played through it! enjoyed it a lot, very creative

The art was really nice, loved the bright colours, also loved and appreciated the interpretation of the theme and how it factored into the actual mechanical design of the game rather than purely being in the visuals like some other games have done, it feels quite polished!

I am so glad you liked it! We had a lot of fun making it, and seeing all these positive comments is  more of a dopamine rush than we were prepared for. Thank you for playing

Ah, yep that part is a known bug, my theory is that something with the mechanic where the thing grabs you causes issues with the respawn logic.

when you say you got stuck do you mean you were softlocked?

Looks really cool, visuals are great. and I think the puzzles are really clever, some timings seem a bit tight which makes things annoying at times, but otherwise its great. Audio wise, I'm hearing a pop after every footstep which is a little jarring, but otherwise great job!

Thanks for the feedback, in retrospect those jumps were a little difficult, unfortunate about the restart. That is unfortunate. I'm glad you liked the concept

I had some weird audio glitches, and i also found it laggy in the browser.  I think it feels very directionless  at the start and needs better direction. level designs were clever though

Thank you for your comment, Its unfortunate to hear about that soft lock in the 3D platforming section, to complete it you are supposed to jump from conveyor to conveyor and then through to the box and the 3rd terminal.  But i am so glad you enjoyed it! It gives me a dopamine rush every time i see a comment like this!

Thank you so much for your lovely  comment,  and im glade you enjoyed the concept, Soup and I have been discussing making a longer version after the Jam is over (though we may need to refactor a bit of it because it is a mess under the hood)

The sound mix was very off and it threw off a lot of the enjoyment,  also visually the bullets take up so much of the screen and hitboxes feel clunky. That being said, it is an interesting concept that could be expanded upon further in many interesting ways. I agree with LowQualityRobin's take on telekenesis.

Currently we've only had one rating

I will of course rate your games

I enjoyed the game, and I enjoyed the visual style and narrative, i did encounter a few bugs, and a lot of the time, what damaged you wasn't clear. I was able to just stay in the lava early on without taking damage. I think the enemies being the same colour as the player throughs off that they are enemies at first, I initially thought that one of them was currency earlier on.

Will definitely revisit and play through again and adjust my score accordingly, when i say the connection to the theme is weak, I believe that justifying it through visuals alone, and without any gameplay is what in my eyes, brings down the score about it relating to the theme, but i will definitely try the newest build

Thanks!, just to clarify was there not a button prompt above the terminal? if so that is a bug that needs fixing within the remaining grace period, thanks for the feedback.

All in all a really interesting submission with an amazing art style and some nice music, which unfortunately is brought down by some weird hitboxes and physics bugs, lack of feedback for damage to the player or to enemies  and a style that makes it easy to get stuck without any real design language to guide you. I also find the lack of sound effects when it comes to attacks movement and jumping also contributed to the lack of feedback.

Finally in regards to the theme, i think the implementation and connection is weak, with simply stating that because it is pixel art, it is minimalist.

again though, visuals are really cool, enemy design is cool, the player animations are cool  i will revisit my rating after the grace period ends in case of changes

I think the animations are really cool, Unfortunately it does hurt on the visual and audio departments, interesting concept I'd like to see expanded further.  I think the theme is covered in a very blatant way if that makes sense. could be interesting to see how it could be expanded on

i played through the boss which i  enjoyed, and i made it top the blue area before moving to other games blue area definitely has better contrast

Some really nice visuals, I like the stickman theme,  I think unfortunately visuals alone makes its connection to the theme rather stretched in my eyes, sound design sounded good, though could maybe do with some EQing and some more mixing.

Good work and good luck!

Some really cool visual stuff, and some great ideas there, i especially like the light spear, i think that was very creatively implemented. I liked the effect before it tells you how to use the light spear. The sound design was good. Some clunky jumps here and there where the player's size relative to the world makes it awkward make it a bit awkward, and the character being black on a black background makes positioning for some jumps a tad difficult, i am not sure if there is coyote time of some sort implemented it is hard to tell, perhaps that could make the jumps less clunky, and sometimes, its hard to tell which way the player is facing but that last point is nitpicky.

All in all a great submission that i enjoyed playing through, and it had some really interesting ideas.

The movement feels incredibly clunky, and the assets lack any animation, the enemy hitboxes and level design make it virtually unplayable. The music is pretty good. I think the relevance to the theme is incredibly strained. and it seemed more like a platformer than a metroidvania though i wasn't able to progress very far due to the clunky design

The level design needs a bit of work, in all honesty, it feels very clunky and unforgiving and the enemies hitboxes are really weird i couldn't really get  anywhere without it feeling off

Hi there, just a brief comment. We are still working on the game and the ending specifically within the grace period so please be aware of that.

It was a really fun game!

really enjoyed the game! the boss reminded me a little of the radiance from hollow knight with the blade attacks and i  loved the visual style and progression system!

Among Us was a major inspiration and Wall-E was one of the references for the design lol! and yeah, a quick retry would 100% be the change i would implement along with more information to the player!

Loved the game, would love to see a a longer version but all in all really good!

In hindsight that would be the major change.

here is my game post yours below and i will play and rate them!

Enjoyed this game  quite a lot! it was quite difficult early on, and the planes that come and attack your towers are nice!

which quests did you experience issues with?  Also make sure to press complete on your tasks

Really incredible game! I enjoyed it a  lot and the art is really pretty and cozy

Hi there! thanks for the review, In retrospect we would have made the intro skippable, but at the  time we hadn't thought of it and it was to late to change! I am glad you liked all the references!  I hoped somebody would notice!

Hi there thanks for your comment, would you mind rating the game if possible?

Hello! I just wanted to Update that the speed boost audio bug has been fixed in the latest build of the project!

Hi! I played through the game and encountered  issues after the press to interact, additionally the player gets stuck on walls when you apply force, I think your representation of the theme itself is good though!  all in all Good for a game jam game!

Hi thank you for your comment, The speed boost audio is a bug that we are working on fixing before the 48 hours bug fix period ends  as for more puzzles yeah, would have loved to do more but couldn't due to time constraints but thank you for taking the time to view our game!

It is nice and challenging, the art style and sound is great! the gameplay is fun and engaging and fast paced so it avoids the major drawback of tower defense that being the waiting period
