Any particular suggestions on where we need to improve quality/reduce jankyness would be really helpful. New to game dev so any feedback is super helpful.

Glad you enjoyed it :D

I think jank is probably the word for it XD. With such little time available play testing the final build may have been forgotten, oops. Glad you enjoyed!

HI FROM AF'BROS GAMES

We're super excited to announce that the first playable version of Two-Can-Do is OUT NOW! We've put together a small demo build to test some of the features and levels we've been working on.

Following the United Game Jam we've been continuing work on the game, expanding on the original idea and implementing new levels and features.

One of the biggest changes since the Game Jam has been to the level design and structure. With the addition of a follow camera and several other mechanics we have been able to design and create much larger and more varied levels compared to the single frame levels showcased in the Game Jam build. For more details on the updates and changes we have made to the game check out our devlog over at https://gamejolt.com/games/two-can-do/511830

To test these new additions to the game we have put together a new demo build available now to download! All feedback is greatly appreciated and helps us to improve the game and progress as developers. Check out the trailer below, we hope you enjoy :D

Awesome game with some fun little puzzles, really enjoyed the idea of throwing the ball between players. Can't help but feel that we were thinking along similar lines with our games XD

Really interesting and definitely one of the more unique games I've seen in the jam. Lots of potential and room for further development!

Super fun and challenging game. First time the direction flipped on one side really put my brain into a faltspin XD. Would love to see some music and sound effects, can't help but think this game needs more "BLEEPS" and "BLORPS"!

Love the pixel art and the intro, writing was good fun. Controls could do with a bit of work, found pushing boxes around pretty awkward as they would usually fly off uncontrollably. Overall a solid submission though!

Don't worry, I got the pun XD, just found it funny because it's very similar to the title of my game. I too thought of the pun whilst coming up with the name of my game

Cool idea, very hard though. Might help to zoom the camera out slightly to give the player more time to position themselves, enemies currently take up a large proportion of the screen.

Fun art, comic book intro was an awesome touch. In terms of gameplay few tweaks to the physics and how objects bounce would go a long way to improve the feel of the game.

Two-can? Two-can....do?

Really love the art and sound design of this game, super impressive for a game jam!

Wow, I enjoyed that way more than I expected to. Testing your ability to multi-task and trying to manage orders simultaneously is surprising intense and addictive XD. Love the music too!

Fun little game, standout aspect to me was the sound design, really liked the arcade-like sound effects. Would be cool to see more aspects to bullet management such as making the bullets bounce so if you miss you can try and collect them before they despawn.

Super cool concept. Really like the aesthetic of the game too, simple but clean and effective. A fast paced synth/electronic sound track would accompany this game really well and would add to the action a lot, maybe something to consider if you take this further. Only issue I had was with the combat, clicking on enemies felt a little bit awkward at times but I still enjoyed the idea of using dashing as an attack.

A fun little game. Music and simple art style gives it a really chilled and relaxing feel. Only thing is that I couldn't figure out what I was supposed to do for the ad puzzles.

Fun idea. Simple but difficult and really quite enjoyable. Only downside is that I felt I like all my attention was on the pac-man side, kept space invaders going mostly by just repeatedly pressing space whilst playing pac-man.

This game has so much charm and fun! The gameplay was surprisingly intense and fast paced as you wait for the next mini-game to start and anticipating what you will have to do. The two second timer really adds to this and is one of the more unique implementations of the them that I have seen so far.

Love the assets, really unique style that is simple but quirky and again adds to the game's charm. The idea of cows running from aliens is super random but that kind of random humour really appeals to me and is a big part of what makes this game unique and and funny to play XD

The main problem I had when playing was that the game would often crash on some of the mini-games. Big shame as it made it hard to play for extended periods and explore all of the games.

Overall super solid release, perfect style for a jam game!

Wow, really appreciate this thoughtful and in-depth feedback/review of the game :D

Following the response to our game we plan to develop further and have started a dedicated devlog  page over on GameJolt (https://gamejolt.com/games/two-can-do/511830).  Therefore this feedback is really helpful in allowing us to improve the game and produce a better product.

Audio will be on of the first things we re-work. With only 10 hours of jam time available to us we ran things quite tight and were frantically adding audio in the last 5 minutes, hence the lack of sound effects. Non-looping music was just us forgetting to tick the loop box whilst rushing to meet the deadline XD.

We really like the suggestions regarding animations and agree that they would add a lot more feel to the game. Again, we plan to revisit these in the near future adding more animations and re-working the existing ones.

Thank you for taking the time to play our game and providing such valuable feedback. We're glad you enjoyed it!

So glad you loved the art. First jam so wasn't sure if dedicating a time to the art would be wise, seems to have payed off though XD

Music and style is super fun! Would be good if the lever/button things were explained a bit just to give the game a bit more direction.

Super fun, love the art and animations. Also, splitting bullets is super satisfying :D

Awesome concept, love the look and feel of the game too. Only change I would make would be to speed up the movement of the body. I get he no longer has legs but moving around once split is super slow

So glad you liked it. We will definitely be taking this project further in the near future. Expect to see more levels and a wider variety of mechanics and puzzles :D

Yeah I realised that it probably wasn't on loop. Lets just say I was frantically adding the music with about 3 mins left on the clock xD. Glad you enjoyed :D

Glad to hear you enjoyed it :D

Who knew I could develop such a burning hate for Fred in such a short space of time, damn him and his coffee cups! This game has a tonne of potential, especially as a co-op game with both competitive and cooperative play.

Love the clean aesthetic and using the hidden platforms power is really nice. Voice acting was questionable but made me laugh nonetheless XD

Great example of a simple but super fun game mechanic. Puzzles were engaging and forced me to think about were I was splitting items and how I was managing items like keys :D

Wow, really impressive game. Loved every aspect, the art, theme, story and level design is super solid and all done in 48 hours!

Wow, this game would be perfect for mobile! I hope you decide to continue the project and provide a mobile release.

Love the controls, very simple but effective. Super juicy and polished, especially for a game jam game :D

Love the look of the game. Movement was kind of strange how it snaps about but I actually really enjoyed the controls. Something quite frantic about repeatedly spamming WASD to get away from a herd of dinos XD

WE LOVE CO-OP GAMES :D

That's why we're super excited to share our latest project 'Two-Can-Do', a small puzzle platformer where two players work together to solve a variety of movement based puzzles. The current prototype was made in a day for the United Game Jam and is available at https://afbros-games.itch.io/two-can-do. Taking part in our first ever game jam was both a frantic and exciting experience and we can't wait to see what everyone else has created.

We'd love to hear what people think so feel free to play the game and drop us some feedback. Despite being made for a game jam, if people enjoy what we have made we'd love to develop it further and add even more juicy co-op fun!

ENJOY!

AF'BROS GAMES

Yeah had that all the time, just never got round to fixing it XD

Super interesting concept, a lot of potential so glad to see your planning on taking this further. Will definitely keep an eye on this one. Such a shame it's such a short demo but I know how that feels. Only had 10 hours of jam time so ended up with not many levels for my submission, would love it if you checked it out :D

Loving the idea of chaining two players together! Had a few issues with the combat though where I would end up getting spammed by enemies which would prevent me from attacking back.

Instantly grabbed by the art style and the gifs you posted of the game. Great aesthetic just a few control issues but not sure whether this was due to the poor frame rates I was getting when running in browser.
