About four years behind schedule but I’m starting to plan out volumes II & III — Settings & London/Trade — with a print run funded by a crowdfunding campaign next year. With any luck I won’t get distracted this time.
I’d like to package all three volumes up into one lovely hardback book rather than releasing two extra zines.
Is there anything specifically that you’d like to see in that book? Is there anything confusing or something just didn’t jive when you played it?
Please let me know!
Because the free SRD has everything you need to play (and is based on the updated Advanced version) I’m really only adding community copies when someone buys a copy or leaves a star rating.
But yes, give the SRD a try—the magic system got an overhaul and also has slightly more refined rules around levelling. There’s a PDF aswell as a link to the HTML version.
Hi Cocopi, thanks for taking an interest!
I’ve released a free commercial-use SRD over on my website here:
aethercorp.games/advanced-double-d6-add6/srd
It’s got everything you need to be able to play in there.
I’ve also got it sat in my drafts here on Itchio to release as a text file, just haven’t had time to create a cover image yet.
I’m planning on working on two more volumes and perhaps a couple of free pamphlet-sized holiday expansions then, if there’s enough interest, maybe a slim book collecting everything with different artwork.
- Vol II is set to cover maybe ~10 more settings and I’m thinking an orchid generation tool.
- Vol III should finish the series focusing on London, J Carmicæl & Assc. and the orchid trade making it easier to play a campaign.
Was expecting to start researching more settings in June but an RSI set everything back a bit so now looking at December to continue development.
Will certainly be sending an email out if/when these come to fruition!
That made me very happy (and slightly relieved—your’s is the first game I’ve heard about that I wasn’t directly involved in!) to read and really like what you did with the Jamboard.
The difficulty (I think rightfully) tends to ramp up with fewer players but just like with your group, they can always bail if they’re concerned for their safety & it sounds like you ran reveries exactly as intended.
Thanks for the write up! Have added a community copy :)
Hi Sienna!
Most playtests were run online over lockdown using a buggy Tabletopia room and Discord so certainly doable. I don’t think I set up Tabletopia correctly and its quite resource heavy on the computer though.
Have since found PlayingCards.io to be much easier to use so just made a room (demo here: playingcards.io/zvnrxd) and added the export to the downloads available so you can import it into your own room (instructions here).
The deal button deals a hand of 5 equipment cards to each player, splits the deck, shuffles in the aces, stacks, and deals out the table cards. Reset does the opposite so use at your peril.
Any spare pennies will need to be split manually but everyone can then interact with the table which hopefully takes a lot of the strain off you as GM.
Haven’t tested the room at all though so do let me know if anything breaks/doesn’t work!
(* Edit: That is, if you do end up using it of course)
BONGERS! Bounce pine cones off a small trampoline to score points!

Have you come across The Black Hack at all? https://the-black-hack.jehaisleprintemps.net/english/
It uses a 'roll under your stat' mechanic which means it works well for solo play.
